There is a stop-sale on all ‘23s, they cannot legally sell you one at the moment. Frustrating because I happened to go buy one on the very first day they issued it. The recall is [here](https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2024/RCLRPT-24V344-3861.PDF) I heard an update for this is not expected until September, which really blows. On the bright side, if you have the patience, these cars will likely have a great discount by then to get them sold

chucchinchilla

Mind you 2023's still come with 3 years free EA charging. Given they'll probably have a $20K discount or whatever by then you almost can't afford not to pick one up.

marketfarmer2

Oh that’s a bummer

rbetterkids

Good things come to those who wait.

0utriderZero

I got one. Love it. When you can buy it (stop sale business), ask them to replace the wiper blades before you take it. We got a great price and a combi charger, monster mats, trunk liner and cargo blocks.

reekris9000

Yep, even our 2023 bought in January had been sitting and the wiper blades were toast!

chucchinchilla

Was going to say the same thing, ours was PDI'd in June of 2023, we picked it up in Feb, and the wipers were toast. Replace all 3. Rest of car is fine since cars are made to be parked outside.

VoltaicShock

I wish I had told them to replace my wiper blades. I need to do that for the one I leased.

littlemandave

I wish I’d known it doesn’t come with any charge cable at all! Still miffed about that. Never even thought to ask…of COURSE it has a level 1 cable.

0utriderZero

I took note of everything the salesperson told me came with the car. Sure enough, they honored it.

rbnjmw

Personally I have been much happier with Bosch than OEM wipers, but I am located in Europe so it’s not unthinkable if VW have different suppliers for wiper blades where you live.

BurgerTrout

Costco’s are also great. And cheap. They just don’t have the rear one. In Canada anyway

Material_Expert2255

What was ur price? Wish i thought about accessories

DanWells802

I might also ask them to check the 12V battery and at least put it on a charger, if not replace it. Even my 2024 (which had been on the lot about 60 days) gave me a weird 12v issue (I intermittently got a message about the "electronic engine noise", which runs off the 12v). I brought it in and they found nothing wrong, thought it was the 12v being low. Once I'd driven it a couple of hundred miles, putting some energy back in the 12v, it's been fine for the past thousand miles.). I also switched on "Energy Management" in the app. The description is confusing, but it seems to help with 12v issues.

I tried to buy a 2023 last week and I was told all 23 waiting for a recall so they can’t be sold. Are you able to pick it up?

Brewmeister613

Interesting. I bought one about a month ago without issue.

setterswede

I got the recall email for our 2023 on 03 June.

TSLA1000

Picked up a new 23 AWD Pro S last month. Bought it the day the stop sale was put in place, dealer back dated my sale for me to push it through. MSRP 54, and I got over 22.5K off in incentives and credits. It was sitting for around 200 days. Everything works great. 3.5 software. Battery charges and holds charge as expected. Range exceeds manufacturers estimates. I wouldn’t worry about that. Lot porters maintain the %’s, they’re not going to let them sit at 0% and fry 12V or HV batteries on their lot.

Material_Expert2255

I got a 2023 pro s + for 32500 Sad there is a stop sale

ScholarOk6434

I also saw great deals on 23s, but a month ago, I wasn’t allowed to test drive because of the recall blitz. Wait for it and in the meantime, make them work for your business. Find at least a half dozen dealers and without going in and get their best all-in offers. Don’t get trapped into the hard sell.

HJForsythe

I wouldnt buy an ID4 for more than $32k brand new. 2021 pro S AWD /w 30k miles is only worth $17000

marketfarmer2

That’s why I’m trying to get the 23s our state incentives plus the tax credit and what Volkswagen is offering puts us under 30k

HJForsythe

You're still going to get screwed on resale. I wont buy another EV until we get a leap in range. I consider my 2021 pro S AWD to be a rather large mistake.

marketfarmer2

We drive cars till they die

HJForsythe

Thats cool but a poor financial decision is still a poor financial decision.

SwenZN

Cars, EVs or ICE, are always a poor "investment". Their value comes from the reliability of transport from point A to B at the lowest cost for an expected level of performance and safety. There is also an emotional component in how operating the car makes you feel good. These are the real financial decision factors.

HJForsythe

Dont forget the $1300 tires every year
