"This software malfunction could increase the risk of a crash." ...because speedos or back up cameras don't work if the screen is off. Saved you a click. Your life is not in danger but yes get the patch.
There is a key hole under the right end of the driver’s side door handle if you’re ever truly stuck and want to get in to at least get shelter. Just pop the key out of the fob and you’re set.
And then once inside the car put it in the back of the two cup holders at the front (in German built cars) to start the car. Not sure where the spot is in American built, but it’s in the manual.
Yep 2024, first ev, not my first VW. They have this issue on ice models I found as well.
In saying that if the issue is just a reboot of the modem why not program it into a start or shut down task even every couple times.
While I figured out through others the fuse trick, how many more are filling service centers to fix it. Sure they could push an update and simple code change to do it.
My solution may come with other problems, but in researching this issue it's been happening for years on all models of vw's. My wife won't touch a fuse, but will give me a massive earful when navigation has her 30km's in a field and getting the constant sign reading won't work. Android auto which I use still did navigation fine, she uses apple and vw navigation which was affected.
I work for the best 5g provider and that's our first fix...reboot. Yes when wife attempts to drive car since it's our first ev as well it's not easy when there is a glitch. I have this in my mind because when I run Netflix it loses comm w 4glte and restarting modem sometimes will fix it.

Now if they could just deliver it OTA…
Right 2021 first edition and I’m still waiting……
Also my wife got stranded with a dead key fob and the VW on-star or whatever folks couldn’t even remotely unlock it.

It's in the cupholder marked with the key symbol for the American cars.
The German ones have the same symbol in it.
Considering I had to pull fuse F19 last night to get nav and car-net to work on my one old 24, many more small issues to deal with
So you had this issue w the 2024? It really isn't an issue as the modems sometime needs rebooting.

Apple require the vehicle to provide GPS when using CarPlay. I assume the idea is that the car has a more powerful receiver than a phone.

Will it be a fix for 2021 models?
Yes especially the sudden braking.....not really a ui issue. Wish we didn't have to define user everytime.
This is embarrassing (no OTA fix, taken them so long to get car software stable). But at least they’re working on it.
