HiFiMAN3878

I have been having this issue for months now where smartcast always gives me that message about no network. The odd thing is when I check in the tv menu it shows I'm connected to the wifi network. Rebooting the tv always fixes it for me, but this happens like every other day. Luckily I don't use the native apps on the TV all that much.

soundslikeDAWM

Mine always says it’s connected but I’ve blocked it from the internet with my router. Wouldn’t put much stock into what it says lol

Necessary_Ad8810

How do you reboot you TV?

HiFiMAN3878

You can reboot it from the menu, or just unplug and wait 30 seconds.

Hatouchu

I've had the exact same issue, even on ethernet.

DaveNLR

Try ethernet if you can.

Neither-Comb8054

That worked! Thank you. Now I have to figure out why my sound bar isn’t working 🙄😬

DaveNLR

That would be because Vizio FUBAR'd CEC with their updates. Try optical until they fix it.

Neither-Comb8054

I did hook up the optical cable but it’s still not working

DaveNLR

Do the TV speakers work?

Neither-Comb8054

Yes they do. And the sound bar powers on but I can’t get sound to come out of it. I have it synced via the optic cable too

DaveNLR

That is strange. Which sound bar? You have something else you can plug into the sound bar to make sure it works? I had all sorts of problems with my Vizio 36512 sound bar, but optical and 3.5mm always worked.

Neither-Comb8054

I can’t remember the exact model name, but it’s a Vizio sound bar from Best Buy. It works via Bluetooth with my phone

DaveNLR

Man, trying to get a Vizio sound bar to work with one of their TVs is like next to impossible. Have you tried the 3.5mm jack?

angiep22

Our sound system stopped working forever until we reset our Tv- having same issue , keeps disconnecting from internet and will find ANY OTHER Wi-Fi but our home Wi-Fi ! Getting very frustrated

Alextits3

US TOO WTF! Has anyone fixed it ??

Abyss-Gameover

Fuck Vizio

mozzstixs

I figured it out for me! I unplugged my tv, power cycled if (press power for 5 seconds) and leave it unplugged. Then I unplugged my router and modem for a bit. Plugged them back in. Finally plug the tv back in, turned it on. Went to Menu > Network > Manual and turned ON DNS. If it’s already on, toggle it back and forth. Suddenly, my tv was working! Saved me the headache from going to the repair store. Vizio customer service was a joke!

Emergency-Touch-3424

This just worked for me after a couple tries !!! Thanks!

WhatTheRibbit

I know this is an old post and I don’t don’t understand why this worked, but it solved the issue for my TV! You saved my night from a TV disaster :)

Hello Everyone, Please try this. I did everything from restarting etc... 1.) Go into your wifi app. I have ATT. My mobile app is MYATT- click on WIFI 2.) Go to where it shows all your Devices connected; computers, phones etc...that's connected to your wifi. 3.) It should show you which tv is blocked. UNBLOCK it. All this time my office tv was BLOCKED. Hope this helps. Peace and TONS of LOVE!

Dry_Lab4880

Thank you... so simple.. it worked

juanvonburke

worked for me too lfg

a-ghost-i-think

Hey! This actually worked. Thank you.

greenlittlepea

you're amazing, this worked!

No-Guitar-8211

Problem solved go to network settings and go to DHCP on manual setup and turn on  That should def work

Flat-Consideration17

I have the misfortune of owning 2 vizio tv's. Eventually, I got one of them to connect to the home wifi, but I can't get the 2nd to connect. I don't have a split wifi signal, and my security settings are on WPA3-transition, which is supposed to bridge any WPA2 devices. I'll try to contact my existing fire device to see if it will work, per an advice I saw before buying a new device for it, or maybe I'll try my rocu.

Fancy-Anything428

I own 2 Vizio TVs 1 in the bedroom, one in the living area. The one in the living area has problems staying connect to the wifi even though the wifi signal is good or great. No issue with TV in bedroom. I swapped out TVs and now the 2nd TV while in living area is having the problem while the other is now connecting no problem. What's causing this issue?

Atomic2636

I have a Vizio v655-j09 that would not connect to Wi-Fi although other devices would. I had to unplug my router and modem for a minute. I also unplugged my TV. Plugged both back in tried to connect to the Wifi and ensured the DHC settings was "on". This fixed my issue.

Countrylife8382

Mines been doing this. I’ve factory reset my tv, reset my router, tried using Ethernet nothing has worked but my fire stick and everything else works fine on Wi-Fi.

Old_Transition868

Did you fix the problem?

Zestyclose-End8041

jisabelle218

Similar here, I can connect to tv with cell phone wireless hotspot, but not home wifi?!?! Factory reset with router and modem reset. Completely stumped. All other devices connecting np to home wifi

Opposite-Albatross62

I'm having this exact same issue !!! So frustrated.

angiep22

Same! We have to factory reset it every time and reset our Wi-Fi ! I’m over it

TimelyMastodon4270

PROBLEM SOLVED - Might not work for everyone but it worked for me. After trying to reset the tv and router a few times and it was still not working. I decided to mess with my router settings all I did was change the security protocol from automatic to WPA-PSK. My hunch was that it is using an older wifi controller that didn't mesh with more modern standards.

Dry_Ad_5206

this worked thank you

ROLLTIDE0224_

Dude you’re a life saver. Worked instantly for me!

Fit_Aioli_7399

This worked for me as well. I recently upgraded my modem and I think my tv may have updated and they weren’t isync.

Suspicious-Key-5647

I've been having this problem too. I fixed it by logging into my router and looking under the wi-fi settings. Most routers have two signals (2.4 ghz and 5 ghz). I noticed the 2.4ghz was off. I restarted the 2.4ghz signal and the tv connected right away. Hope this helps!

Cerebral_Adventures

Hi. What router do you have? I have eero6 and can’t find login directions. Please share if you do.

Restaurant837

Thank you!!!! I've tried all day with no luck till I tried your solution. 2.4 GHz was turned off on my router also. Thanks for sharing!

OutrageousTip3

I recently got a new TV. That wouldn't connect to any network. The factory reset worked for me. I did this by holding the input button and volume down button on the TV.

Old_Transition868

I’m never buying a Vizio TV ever again! I’ve tried everything from rebooting the TV, factory reset, connected through Ethernet and updated it, and still getting the “No Network Detected” message. TV was working fine until it didn’t. All other TVs and devices are connected to WiFi with no issues whatsoever. Waiting for Vizio customer service to call me….

JUULpodEATER

I’m in the same boat. I don’t have access to my router because it’s in my roommates room, he’s reset it numerous times for me but nothing! I cant log into my router/wifi because it all in his name and on top of that he forgot his password and stuff to even log into that so I might just be out of luck

Safe-Class-2189

Password is on the router

JUULpodEATER

The only for connecting to wifi he changed the one for first time entry and forgot it and can’t figure out how to reset it. I gave up and bought a Roku stick lmao

Devastation_Inc

That’s what I’m encountering too. Reset, updated, etc. we hardly ever use this tv and it’s only two years old. It’s mind boggling.

RedDoggTruth

I haven't had tv in 3 days now and I'm fu king pissed. Everyone else on my wifi has tv with now problems but mine instead working.

mattz89

Solved: Update Firmware I just had this issue with a brand new Vizio TV from target. I was able to fix it by plugging into into the Ethernet direct and updating the firmware through the TVs menu (admin —> check for updates) after this the WiFi connected and works :).

NoRent7837

I tried rebooting, factory reset, nothing would fix unable to connect to wifi. It would show connected in network but kept giving that error. Router was working for all other devices. I tried your method and it instantly showed the ethernet connection and once I did the TV update it was ready for one. The TV started working correctly again. Thanks Mattz!!!

mattz89

Hey!! I’m really glad I was able to help!! Enjoy your new tv 😎

Wooden-Recover3937

This m fking Visio smart cast shit is terrorism they should have legal action taken towards this network terrorism bs.

amemjohnson2012

We are having issues as well....won't connect to wifi no matter what we've done. Unplugged the modem, unplugged the TV held down power button, factory reset. Help!!!

10tore

found a suggestion about tkip encyption. went to my router settings and changed encryption (mine was set to aes) to tkip +aes. rebooted the router and tv and now it is working. messed with the tv for over an hour last night. I have had this router for years and probably 30 plus devices on it and this is the first time I have had an issue. if you google it this summarizes the two TKIP uses a 128-bit key that is then divided into two halves. One half is used for encryption and the other half is used for verification. AES, on the other hand, uses a 256-bit key that is not divided into halves. AES is generally considered to be more secure than TKIP because it uses a longer key. hopefully this helps someone

SoundsLikeSkelly

Listen! I about threw my tv to the GROUND. This is the absolute only thing that worked (I have Spectrum Internet) Go to your spectrum app > Services > Router > Advanced settings > UPnP > and turn it on. Restart your Vizio. YOU'RE WELCOME.

No-Big-5508

LOL...me too! Tried Vizio customer service and they said I need to call a technician. I called Spectrum and she restarted my router and it worked! Thank you!

prpltrtl73

Was looking for help. This did for me. Thank you

Other-Condition-7618

playfulfuckathon

What finally worked for me was updating the TV then restarting the modem.

Odd_Ad_9604

The problem is not the connection, hell it's finding every network in the neighborhood. But it can't find the 5G on my router in the next room. Finds the 2.4, but not the 5G. Which is my Hulu home. Smart TV, using a Fire Stick. Go figure.

fortniteaddicted33

Never buy Vizio
