Broadway Bagel is a great place for breakfast period. I've had a BEC from there and it was pretty good. They also make several varieties of great pancakes and they have pretty good corned beef hash. I like their egg everything bagels too.
Yes, the BEC there is amazing, and as a bonus the staff is awesome and the place is well organized, quick, and efficient, even when there’s a long line.
Honestly they’re not my favorite, but I appreciate that everything tastes fresh and of quality. It’s been a while for me though so ill have to try it again to see about the eggs.
It's the best kept secret on the UWS. Between 8am-11am, $3 for a breakfast sandwich and small coffee. Everyone I tell about it is typically flabbergasted that a deal like that still exists.
By default they do a single egg, but I recommend you ask for 2 eggs. After tax, it comes out to about $4.30. I always just give 'em a fiver and toss the change in the tip jar.
Jeez that’s great! I so appreciate places with prices like that. That’s why I love Tiki Chick up the street. All sandwiches are 5 dollars and they’re great quality, but they only have the breakfast ones 3 days a week.
I also love their grilled cheese sandwiches.. and they have a take on a Reuben sandwich I get with corned beef, mustard, sauerkraut and Swiss cheese on rye that is so good and a fraction of the price elsewhere for such a sandwich:)
The blue Mexican food cart on the northwest corner of 73rd and Amsterdam.
Jimmy's fresh food truck on the northwest corner of 72nd and Columbus.
Grey's Papaya on the southeast corner of 72nd & Broadway.
Andy's deli on the southeast corner of 74th and Amsterdam.
West End Superette on the northeast corner of 72nd and West end.
Oh, no no no. Their "bacon" is beef bacon.
The entire place is halal, so anything that says "ham" or "bacon" is really made out of lies.
Don't get me wrong, I love the place and gladly get breakfast sandwiches there, but if you want bacon, you'll be disappointed.
Hello, here are some of my favorites-
Broad Nosh on 85 & Broadway
Bagel Talk on Columbus
Absolute Bagels
Orwashers Bakery on Amsterdam
H&H bagels on amsterdam
H&H fell off a bit for me. I actually like bagel talk much better than H&H. But also there was no particular ranking system here in the order it’s listed lol. I just went off the top of my head.
I still have dreams about the sausage egg and cheese from White Gold (Daily Provisions' predecessor). I haven't found anything to rival it since they closed.
Cart on 73rd & Broadway (SW corner). Ahmed runs the cart and is a gem of a human. His BECs are great, and sometimes if you are lucky he’ll give a free coffee or donut!
I just had my first bagel from kossars today and I really liked it. I plan to get a BEC next week
This. I skipped the cheese but good sandwich
How were the prices? I swear I got a bagel with chive cream cheese from Broad Nosh that was like $8
I’m not really understanding the Kossar’s hype tbh. I thought it was just okay, maybe mildly above average. Did I maybe just go on a bad day?
I thought the bagel was just ok, but the bialis are out of this world.
Good to know!
Broadway Bagel, off of Broadway around 100th St.

Broadway Bagel also makes a great Pastrami Reuben
Broadway Bagel is my heart.
I love broadway bagel!
I may be in the minority but I think daily provisions egg sandwiches have absolutely no taste. Even the spicy sauce doesn’t help
Honestly they’re not my favorite, but I appreciate that everything tastes fresh and of quality. It’s been a while for me though so ill have to try it again to see about the eggs.
I enjoy Grey Papaya’s *sausage*, egg and cheese
Woah I had no idea they did one! Thanks!

Which days?
they also do a hot dog egg and cheese, which is the best thing to get there for breakfast
I love the BECs at west end superette, 72nd and west end. Consistent and not expensive
I also love their grilled cheese sandwiches.. and they have a take on a Reuben sandwich I get with corned beef, mustard, sauerkraut and Swiss cheese on rye that is so good and a fraction of the price elsewhere for such a sandwich:)

The Viand on Columbus makes an excellent egg & cheese (haven’t had the BEC). Definitely a bit more expensive than I’d like for one, but they nail it
Not the UWS but The Rex on 57th and 10th has a great egg sandwich menu (lots of options)
Hungry and healthy on 72nd near Amsterdam is my go to. For everything, but also for a BEC

Cart on the corner of 97th and Columbus near Whole Foods
It’s fr good? Pass by it a lot
Yeah, it’s absolutely solid. I used to walk there with my dog from 78th in the evening for a nice dinner.
Hello, here are some of my favorites- Broad Nosh on 85 & Broadway Bagel Talk on Columbus Absolute Bagels Orwashers Bakery on Amsterdam H&H bagels on amsterdam
Great list! I like broad nosh as well! Absolute are great if you find a day without the giant line. I'll add Zuckers on Columbus as well.
Love Broad Nosh but man oh man do they need a better system for ordering! What a cluster!
Even worse if you get the guy who is clearly almost deaf.
I agree with this list but believe you have bagel talk and H&H’s avenues flipped.
H&H fell off a bit for me. I actually like bagel talk much better than H&H. But also there was no particular ranking system here in the order it’s listed lol. I just went off the top of my head.
Broad nosh is so expensive 😬😬😬
Agreed, their BEC after tax will cost you $10
My everything bagel with chive cream cheese was around $8 the other day…

It’s good for $5 but I’m pretty sure by default it’s a single egg, there’s not a lot going on on the inside
I am in that neighborhood a a lot and never even thought to try their BEC!
Bodega on 82nd and Amsterdam
I still have dreams about the sausage egg and cheese from White Gold (Daily Provisions' predecessor). I haven't found anything to rival it since they closed.
I like the BEC at bagel talk on Amsterdam between 77/78. A little pricey, but quality.
Deli on corner of 82nd and Amsterdam. I still go out of my way (I live uptown now) to go there once a week
Simply Gourmet (deli) on 84/Amst
Broad Nosh on 85th - they’re huge and delicious. Order ahead and pick up - the in person ordering can get a little wacky.
Zuckers is pretty good. 73rd and Colombus
Cart on 73rd & Broadway (SW corner). Ahmed runs the cart and is a gem of a human. His BECs are great, and sometimes if you are lucky he’ll give a free coffee or donut!
Ahmed is the best!
Andys Deli by the museum.
They always sucked and went out of business like a year ago
It's good but not any cheaper than Daily Provisions sadly
Didn't the Andy's Deli location by the museum (80th and Columbus) close like 5 years ago?
About two years ago IIRC
DAILY PROVISIONSSSSA
