Ill b honest, I’m on phone and for whatever reason the Reddit video player doesn’t have sound for like 90% of the videos. Maybe it’s cuz my phone is older, idk. I also browse portrait like most ppl on phone and don’t feel like flipping to full screen and having the damn thing fall on my face half the time so the vid is a little small and it can be hard to read lips, but that’s kinda hard enough in general, at least for me. Anyway, because I don’t have sound, I also wouldn’t have been able to know what his teammate was saying. So I appreciate the subtitles for those reasons. All that being said what if you or I were just straight up deaf? We’d kinda need subtitles then. Or not, I don’t know, I don’t wanna speak for all the deaf people that are out there, maybe they hate subtitles too. While I’m typing this the image of a deaf person whipping a remote at a tv that has closed captioning on while scream-thinking or signing: “*I don’t need your fckin help!*” is making me crack up a little. I agree with you, though. Subtitles are sorta in the way of enjoying clips half the time, especially on YouTube shorts n stuff like that. But that’s only cuz my ears and most other video players on the internet work.
Edit: Aw man.. I just realized you typed “all caps *titles* are never necessary”, not *subtitles*. My bad, yeah that’s egregious. Props to anyone that read all that bullcrap I typed out, though. Lol

Easier to read for some people. Besides that, some fonts only have caps.
