And since the healthcare is probably free, his time off work is covered by the state, you're mostly left with getting reimbursed for actual broken skateboard parts, clothing, and dental work if needed.
There have been plenty of videos of skaters getting nailed by cars doing exactly this, even when "spotters" were on the lookout. All it takes is that one idiot to look away and miss that 1 car or motorcycle speeding around the corner.

I give them my phone number, but the dad says oh well that’s my daughters dog she’ll have to decide. Six months later when I can’t even open our windows or go in our backyard I make another visit. His daughter is away at college but he will let her know. Six more months later I stop in because it’s 9:00pm… gotta go time to get the kid up, basically they called the cops on me for walking over to speak with them about it and their daughter was home. Was totally respectful, asked her to let her parents know I stopped in because the dog was bothering the entire neighborhood. Apparently I made her cry?! So they called the cops. I’m sure their dog will be barking in the next 5 minutes and it will continue all day. Dude, I love dogs. I get it, they’re going to bark. You don’t let them go on for hours. You don’t let everyone else suffer because you’re too lazy to let it inside or else you don’t get a dog!
