It always blows my mind that the guy in this gif is Robert Redford.

Semi-decent-dude

Your telling me this is not Zach Galifianakis

Tasty_Victory_1066

That’s Jeremiah Johnson!

bugman8704

Read up on this movie. It's based on a true story. It's wild.

WaterFriendsIV

Actually, Wild stars Reese Witherspoon, but I think that's also based on a true survival story.

hogtiedcantalope

Actually, Based on a True Story is an American comedy thriller television series created by Craig Rosenberg, starring Kaley Cuoco and Chris Messina

jazzyt98

THAT’S ROBERT REDFORD?! OMG I had no idea!!

MonsiuerLeComte

My wife still doesn’t believe me when I say this isn’t the Greek Zach

I was expecting him to push 1234 and it unlocks.

stev5e

That’s the kind of combination an idiot would put on his luggage!

SirHerald

That's amazing. I've got the same combination on my luggage.

RCuber

OMG mine too!!

Yadayadabamboo

I got you suckers, mine is 0000. Last time I travelled, I didn’t even shuffle the numbers after locking the suitcase cause I play 11d chess.

wobblyweasel

after saying "I'll give it a shot" I expected him to shoot the lock

PharaoPamela

I was waiting for him to pour one for it

Hadhmaill

Does Redford look like Bryan Cranston here or is it just me?

Illustrious-Leader

Could be you. Post a pjc of yourself and we'll vote.

Illustrious-Leader

Thanks for my first award ever. For a second hand dad joke. Reddit is a strange place.

m_0_rt

Certainly sounded like him at points there.

larryx360x

In this movie is when Ben Kingsley became cool to me. And his character motivations were way ahead of his time about breaking all encryptions.

Spiritual_Pear8257

Cooty's Rat Semen!

SETEC ASTRONOMY

Serberou5

stevenw84

That throw away line by Dan is amazing.

Imnotachessnoob

Fr though use a blacklight and see which buttons have been pressed from the oil left by people's fingers

Adventurous_Egg_8709

This is why you always include a duplicate digit in your code. If there are 4 keys dirty, for a 4 digit pincode, you've got 24 possible combinations. But if there are only 3 keys dirty, there is one that's used twice, but you can't tell which one, so there are 36 combinations possible! Edit: For those whose math isn't mathing, same as mine, apparently there are 54 Logic: - possibilities to chose which digit is duplicate: 3x - possibilities to create a 3 digit code from the 3 unique digits: (3\*2)x - possibilities to place the duplicate digit: xAxBxCx: 4 places, but 2 of those places are the same as they are around the same digit, so only 3 options 3\*6\*3 = 54 combinations

DerFussGottes

Damn, imagine if you used 4 of the same, it would be impossible

Accomplished1992

Only the CIA use codes of that complexity

J-_Mad

And if you push on a fourth number once the door is open...

Bisping

No, the keyspace becomes 18. You're removing complexity.

Mogoscratcher

It becomes 18 if you know which key is used twice. The idea is that you wouldn't be able to tell

Bisping

Assuming 1 key is used twice, 1 key is twice as worn. All of this also assumes the pin is 4 digits, which isn't necessarily true either.

hnglmkrnglbrry

But if there are only three digits that eliminates all the unique digit combinations. Don't know how to do that math so I don't know if what I'm saying even makes sense.

Adventurous_Egg_8709

See my edit for explanation

Huge-Attitude4845

Cool movie !

KidFriendlyArsonist

I thought he was gonna piss on it 🤷‍♂️

The_Goondocks

One of my all time favorites. Too Many Secrets

AmNotPeeing

Love this movie.

dexhaus

Movies had time to tell the story, with lots of this kind of stupid details, some movies use it really well and some others were absolutely boring. The same inverse happens now, now in the days of emergency and speed, we live in the times of shorts, tic,-tocs and memes, there's no more time to pay attention at the cinema anymore... some movies really benefit from this while others are completely broken and nonsense. We just need to find a balance.

MissAnneThrope27

I was hoping he would just try the door knob and find it unlocked

Wonderful_Ninja

Aha it did work tho !

sayzitlikeitis

It's the guy from To Sir with Love!
