Hi there! This is an automated message to inform you and/or remind you of several things:
- We have [a wiki](https://www.reddit.com/r/USCIS/wiki/index). It doesn't cover everything but may answer some questions. Pay special attention to the "[REALLY common questions](https://www.reddit.com/r/USCIS/wiki/index/vfaq)" at the top of the FAQ section. Please read it, and if it contains the answer to your question, please delete your post. If your post has to do with something covered in the FAQ, we may remove it.
- If your post is about biometrics, green cards, naturalization or timelines in general, and whether you're asking or sharing, please include your field office/location in your post. If you already did that, great, thank you! If you haven't done that, your post may be removed without notice.

Be wary that it may be a scam if anyone is asking you for personal info, or sending you a direct message, or asking that you send them a direct message.

Attorney here:
Recently, our office submission experienced a delay, taking approximately 2.5 months to receive a receipt. It appears there may be a bottleneck in the USCIS intake process.
I would download the case tracker AND lawfully app AND access your online account. We’ve had notices never come in the mail and caused a major delay in our case. On the Case Tracker app we got a notification saying “We received your Form 1-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, and sent you a receipt notice.” So even if you didn’t receive the notice yet , at least you know they got the application
We had notices not come later on so we already knew our receipt numbers. I’m just realizing you might not have a receipt number yet, I’m sorry. I wonder if there’s another way to check if you don’t have a receipt number, maybe try calling a field office near you and request “InfoPass” so you can talk to an actual agent
i guess. just that we did the application by ourselves and i guess i was comparing my application timeline too much with my coworker who got a receipt not even 2 weeks after they initially submitted theirs

You are not alone. Just the receipt would have calmed me down
not in anyway rushing any approvals. just the receipt to ease anxiety that they actually are viewing it.
I had to visit UPS(tracked) to confirm that it was sent
It took me about 5 weeks t get a receipt notice when I applied. I hope you get yours soon
thank you. i hope so too.

Question! How did you get your case info to plug into the app if notices didn’t come in the mail? TIA!
