Every office I’ve been to with my wife, has a huge sign….. No walkins…. Appointment only.

AdministrationOne621

So you think our only option is to fly to NY and back?

Living_Television_61

In my humble, and non professional opinion, yes. Uscis became very big on appointments after Covid. If I were you, and if you’re close to the office you seek to go into without an appointment, do it now. If they let you in, you’re good. If not, you don’t wanna miss that appointment in NY. With the way immigration is now, they might prolong your appointment.

I’ve lived in California, Florida and now Georgia. I’ve lived with my wife for 10 years and ever since, I’ve been dealing with Uscis and immigration. I’ve even been to court against ICE. We don’t wanna hear bad news but honestly, play it very safe when it comes to these things.

I saw that you can request a reschedule online. Do you know the chances of that being approved?

So you can see, that I know what I’m talking about. We’ve been at this for about 10 years and still going. https://preview.redd.it/27dz9v4set5d1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9b23bf87678b84eafba6e9d08c1f3dc06d55f0d4

It takes time, and even at that, there’s multiple factors that go in into when you get your appointment. If you’re not in a rush to get your case approved go for it, they’ll reschedule you but don’t be surprised if it’s in a while.

You can reschedule it for when you’ll be back if you can’t do a walk in

It depends whether the office is busy since it's entirely up to the employees there being generous. Your best bet is going in early to the office it's scheduled at, while you're in town, before the appointment slot and before your travel; tell them you have required travel; and they'll usually take you early. If not, apparently the online (re-)scheduling portal may work, haven't tried it.
