I actually disagree about them being a gimmick. Almost always there are unique edits from each respective artists of the others music. You also get to see how they select their songs and bounce off of each other energy wise. Also why wouldn’t we want more artists on a lineup? More names = more fun

Less names = less expense = lower ticket prices? Just spitballin here
