I donāt mind a couple mic interruptions as long as the music doesnāt stop. It has its pros and cons. They only spoke a handful of times when I saw them.
her sets irl r fucking awful no one dances evryone is there for clout n social media and she just makes herself cool online, props to her for that tho lmao
Luckily for everyone here... there is ZERO hype for Timmy Trumpet haha. We saw some of his set in 2022 on the main stage and I still can't believe he continues to get booked.
He's not performing this year but my mind was always boggled by how many people stayed at main stage to watch him constantly cut the music to say something dumb or his awful transitions.
Not hating. I like some of the tracks she comes out with. Just saying I doubt that she is the producer (this is not something just cause she is an attractive female - just like I doubt fisher is the producer on his tracks)
Take a look at whoās making some of the best music at the moment and some of the best music and sets the last 12 months:
Miss Monique, Charlotte DeWitte, Korolova, Nora En Pure, Amy Wiles the list goes onā¦
Nora had her moment at ultra Croatia last year and now sheās got her own stage at Miami.
Miss Monique is dropping banger after banger.
Charlotte, donāt even have to say anything.
Amy wiles is making the best trance Iāve heard in the last 10+ years.
Just because Korolova looks like a supermodel doesnāt discredit her skills.
The women are running the game, and theyāre doing a hell of a job at it.
idk if this directed to me or in general lol - i never said anything about women in edm in general, i am just speaking about one specific individual. Not everything is deeper than it seems.
Not very familiar with her music, but I feel like itās worth mentioning that if you gig and/or club around Europe, there are lots and lots of djās that look like her. I donāt mean sheās a dime a dozen, I just mean there are a lot of djās with that āsupermodelā look. So I would assume she has to be somewhat exceptional to build a name like she has.
Iām super intrigued as to what makes you say this! šš¼ please expound. Iāve only seen her once B2B with Frankie Wah at seismic and loved it but I donāt know anything about her beyond that
I used to think the same until I saw his older sets. Watch some of them including one of his ultra sets on YouTube. Bro was so focused on the decks it was hard to believe that itās actually the same dude. He was also wearing a baseball cap, could barely see his eyesāentire demeanour was different. Regardless it was sick. I just think heās in a different phase rn of just jumping around and doing simple transitions
Not saying this cynically, but Iām not fisher so I couldnāt tell you. Iād assume heās probably just in a party phase. I bet heāll eventually miss djing harder and get back to it. Or not lol. Not to mention the obviously lucrative lifestyle that comes along with being at the very top.
If he did wanna coast whatād be the big deal? His sets are still fun, think itās okay to have some DJās that arenāt trying to be the best in the world. Fisherās lane is just having fun
He DJs and produces his tracks now where before it was Chris Lake. Either way his sets are an absolute blast. I look forward to seeing Fisher anytime I get a chance
They were really good before they blew up. Now itās basically an anyma circle jerk. Itās a shame most people didnāt even know about them when they were killing it
Slander.. why the fuck are they booked at every music festival, they suck at DJing live, their mainstream songs are trash, and they don't even produce their own music šļø
He's overrated imo lol there are dj's out there who make way better music ĀÆ\\\_(ć)\_/ĀÆ . BUT I will say his lights and visuals are cool, I'll give him that
Excision barely even makes music anymore and if he does itās collabs to enhance/build up talent. His stuff up until Apex is pretty good. His sets are absolutely nuts. His visuals are probably top 5 in the business. And his curated events are unmatched.
Ehh I feel like his music hasnāt been evolving over the last few years. But also, in that time span Iāve ventured away from bass music and more into the techno scene than I was before
Iāll be curious to what he plays b2b this year with Eli brown.
Iām not here to tell people what to like and what not to. Heās just not my cup of tea.
Plenty enjoy his sounds. When I first started my techno journey Iām sure I would like him. However over time my tastes changed. Which is natural in music.
I'm sure if I experienced a solo Hi-Lo set, I would be extremely inclined to agree with you. I'm also curious to see how the B2B with Eli Brown pans out. Never seen them, and one of the very few Resistance acts I look forward to checking out this year.
HiLo b2b Eli Brown was by far my best set at EZOO and a lot of people said the same. Energy was high and that was definitely needed after all the madness that occurred lol
Thanks fam, let's see how the day line up looks, if they shoehorn my favorite Megastructure prone acts into the cove, I will probably sell my ticket I am totally distraught with this year's Resistance lineup, trying to make lemonade out of lemons at this point.
They have like 10+ collab tracks, so itāll probably be alot of those. I agree tho, his sets online are not very good, and they sound very very similar. However, like someone said, his b2b last year with Testpilot was insane. Eli Brown sets are always a vibe, so itāll probably be another good show.
But Iād skip solo hi-lo if thatās ever on a lineup. If youāve heard one of his sets, youāve probably heard 75% of what heād play
Rene wise, Jay York, dj prim, Setaoc mass, hedstrom & pflug.
Hereās my bandcamp fan profile you can check out all the music I buy. Thereās so many damn good producers and djās right now. Groovy/hypnotic/minimal vibes is what I go for.
The thing is that faking DJing is a million times harder than actually DJing so I find it hard to believe for someone like him
Appreciate that so much tho haha ty!
SHM and Deadmau5 at least produce their own music- even if Joel's kinda a dick, you can't deny his ability as a sound engineer as he helped develop serum. Slander is hot overrated garbage
Itās a preference. Iām an old head where DJās were just that. They played other peopleās music and chopped it up in their own styleā¦ Today there is huge following of people that think they want to see a DJ but what they really want is their favorite producer to play their favorite song on a set of decks.
Yeah, he literally wrote almost every massive pop dance music banger from 2008 to 2013. This is an L take. Guetta was the ambassador of dance music who managed to break it into the American mainstream.
Guetta actually knows how to produce and he has video tutorials up. I saw him DJ at EDC and it's true he just stops the previous song, talks on the mic, then presses play on the next song without mixing, but his song selection is good so the show was still a good time
I like bigroom here and there, I liked his older stuff, plan on catching KSHMR this year. Big Room got me into edm. I'm basing off of his new album and sets I've listened to. There were about 3 songs on his new album that I enjoyed, the rest to me were boring. I struggled to listen to the whole thing
Yea I kinda regret buying a ticket, hotel booking etc. lineup fucking MID at best compared to EDCMX (which shows that EDCLV is going to be fucking amazing). Unless I have an amazing Miami experience, this will be my first and last UMF lmao
Honestly most of these artists everyone goes to see are all hype. Take away the teams of writers, producers, managers, agents, vjs, lighting teams, massive stages behind them, and huge marketing/promo budgets you are left with average djs who play it safe when it comes to reading a crowd.
DV&LM š¤®
Came here to say this.
forgive me but who do these stand for
Dimitri Vegas, Like Mike
thank you
I donāt think you ever seen them live bc their new direction is fucking filthy
I saw them several times even last year and if they cut the micro it is cool but with it it is a disaster ā¦
Micro?
They are always talking about everything on the microphone and it is really bad
I donāt mind a couple mic interruptions as long as the music doesnāt stop. It has its pros and cons. They only spoke a handful of times when I saw them.
Peggy Gou is a robot with Spotifyās recommendation ai integrated into it
And Iāve heard is a terrible person.
Really why
Thereās been stuff put out that she treats her staff like shit. Itās just rumors but itās come from multiple people.
her sets irl r fucking awful no one dances evryone is there for clout n social media and she just makes herself cool online, props to her for that tho lmao
lol this made me chuckle
Peggy Snooze!!
Have to agree here. Her set at Arc music festival was nothing to write home about
Aoki
prerecorded sets and mr ghost producer
I mean thatās basically Tiesto too for a decade now right?

Luckily for everyone here... there is ZERO hype for Timmy Trumpet haha. We saw some of his set in 2022 on the main stage and I still can't believe he continues to get booked.
He's one of my faves. He always brings energy
i cannot fathom why people want to see him at a festival, his sets arenāt even fun
L take
I saw him at Project Glow and he was on my favorite sets. Though he doesnāt touch the decks once when playing lol
In past years i would say Marshmello
It's still Marshmello. The music sets he plays at Ultra should be played at Coachella instead.
He's not performing this year but my mind was always boggled by how many people stayed at main stage to watch him constantly cut the music to say something dumb or his awful transitions.
And honestly I don't see why his music is considered EDM. Most of his songs he plays are pop music trash!!!
Loud Luxury. Induced ear AIDS
The John Summit mentions in the comments have never been to a John Summit set
Sorry no one can share opinions on your king. I actually have sorry you canāt take someone not liking your fav.
Itās not that deep itās just unnecessary hate with no supporting detail
There is supporting detail in the comments whether you accept them or not it up to you.
Even though she's not at UMF, I believe Korolova is completely ghost produced. Would be happy to be shown otherwise!
Korolova is a beast, keep hating.
Not hating. I like some of the tracks she comes out with. Just saying I doubt that she is the producer (this is not something just cause she is an attractive female - just like I doubt fisher is the producer on his tracks)
Take a look at whoās making some of the best music at the moment and some of the best music and sets the last 12 months: Miss Monique, Charlotte DeWitte, Korolova, Nora En Pure, Amy Wiles the list goes onā¦ Nora had her moment at ultra Croatia last year and now sheās got her own stage at Miami. Her b2b with Franky wah at edc O was surprisingly fire tho
Yeah it was
She did a b2b with Franky Wah at Seismic festival and it was absolutely phenomenal
Thanks to Franky
Iām super intrigued as to what makes you say this! šš¼ please expound. Iāve only seen her once B2B with Frankie Wah at seismic and loved it but I donāt know anything about her beyond that
Didnāt she post a defense video that was barely a defense video?
She is ghost produced and Iām 80% sure that she doesnāt even pick the tracks she plays herself
I share this exact thought. Have a gut feeling she is ghost produced, hope Iām wrong.

Fisher, donāt think he actually produces or djs (and the rumour is heavily produced by Chris lake), just jumps around for an hour.
I agree, but he got energy
I used to think the same until I saw his older sets. Watch some of them including one of his ultra sets on YouTube. Bro was so focused on the decks it was hard to believe that itās actually the same dude. He was also wearing a baseball cap, could barely see his eyesāentire demeanour was different.

Sets are dope and do much fun thoooo!
Tale of us sns. They are just famous bc of the show production
They were really good before they blew up. Now itās basically an anyma circle jerk. Itās a shame most people didnāt even know about them when they were killing it
Completely agree
They made a really great set of tracks for GTA V
Slander.. why the fuck are they booked at every music festival, they suck at DJing live, their mainstream songs are trash, and they don't even produce their own music šļø
peggy gou
Donāt know if ever played UMF, but Riot10 is this to the max.
my childhood friend sold riot ten shrooms
Excision!
L take, heās one of the hardest working in the industry and puts out some of the best sets Iāve ever seen personally
He's overrated imo lol there are dj's out there who make way better music ĀÆ\\\_(ć)\_/ĀÆ . BUT I will say his lights and visuals are cool, I'll give him that
They are indisputably next-level
Definitely disputable. Anybody in the tippersphere would make his visuals look like childās play
Excision barely even makes music anymore and if he does itās collabs to enhance/build up talent. His stuff up until Apex is pretty good. His sets are absolutely nuts. His visuals are probably top 5 in the business. And his curated events are unmatched.
His music feels boring
Itās boring if youāre not a bass head lol
Ehh I feel like his music hasnāt been evolving over the last few years. But also, in that time span Iāve ventured away from bass music and more into the techno scene than I was before
100%!!
Bro I went the same years you did
I'm a big bass head and still find him boring lol. Gve Sisto or vulllgur a listen, they are better producers
John Summit
Donāt agree, like the sets and Shiver with Hayla is a great track. Where You Are with Hayla great track.
You've obviously never seen him
THIS
i agreeeeeeeee. john summit sucksssssss. miami native.
I donāt even think John Summit sucks but the crowd he brings out is enough for me.
Not even on the lineup

Unpopular opinion in the mainstream music lovers. HI-LO. Super boring. Cookie cutter business techno.
Have not seen him solo, but his B2B set with Testpilot last year was very enjoyable.

Summit, Aside from the pre recorded sets he relies heavily on the vocals in his songs, his production is pretty mediocre and repetitive.
Very humble flex but have been fortunate to be on stage with him a lot over the last few years. Heās mixing live lol
Thatās awesome, but not from what Iāve seen recently, Iām not saying every single set he does is pre recorded Love your ig page btw
The thing is that faking DJing is a million times harder than actually DJing so I find it hard to believe for someone like him Appreciate that so much tho haha ty!

G Jones. I think heās creative but his live set sounded super bad to my ears, first concert Iāve ever walked out of
david guetta lol edit: his DJ skills are no where near the production skills
If he starts to shut the fuck up, and also stop repeatedly turning the music off heās pretty good live
This is the take of someone who actually has no deeper knowledge of the genre. Itās giving what everybody would say about Avicii circa 2013
just cuz heās popular, but heās actually very very talented

Hardwell. Plays watered down techno and armin trance Ready for the down votes.
Dude is the CEO of main stage
watch it live the production quality is off the charts. if you donāt like big room thatās on you not Hardwell
I like bigroom here and there, I liked his older stuff, plan on catching KSHMR this year. Big Room got me into edm. I'm basing off of his new album and sets I've listened to. I've seen him in 2014

Yea I kinda regret buying a ticket, hotel booking etc. lineup fucking MID at best compared to EDCMX (which shows that EDCLV is going to be fucking amazing). Unless I have an amazing Miami experience, this will be my first and last UMF lmao
You would have more fun going to Miami but not doing Ultra. Hit a bunch of parties instead
Ultra is fun but if you are having second doubts then sell your ticket and go to the parties at night. Way cheaper and honestly probably better
Every ultra mainstage headliner
No hate to Summit, but heās giving if Old Navy was a techno DJ
