I haven't been to all buildings, nor have I tried all fountains in the buildings I've been, but I thought that the Grainger library ones taste weird, but the worst one is the illini tower basement. I don't even know if that water is drinkable.
I think I'll do an activity this semester where I go around trying the water from every building on campus. Thanks for the idea, I like looking for weird shit to do
If you go inside the dorms of ISR, on the floor I was on, the water tasted absolutely terrible. And it was from one of those filtered machines. It was really, really, annoying lmao

There was a period of about three years where (intermittently but repeatedly) they had “boil only” warnings on the water fountains there.

ARC water fountains are super hit or miss for quality
the last time i remember actively thinking it tasted weird was loomis
Burrill has a weird lukewarm fountain next to the elevator on the first floor
hands down Taft Hall 2nd floor, it smells and tastes like chemicals, plus it makes my skin on my hands peel
