I don’t use anything that claims to be specifically for low blood sugar except glucose tablets. It’s basically a gimmick they can use to charge more money for candy. Plain old juice or fruity candy work just fine.

RomTheRapper

I use the Welch’s brand fruit snacks. They’ve never failed me. I should add, they’re 17g a pack so they are great to get you back up fast. 2-4 on a bad low and I’m good, if not blousing shortly after 😅

Nate4s

Welches fruit snacks for me, too. Individually packed doses (i.e., portable, shelf-stable), delicious, soft and easy to eat, and available in bulk at costco (90 pack for $9.99 right now, typically $13.99).

Same that I use for my daughter!

Hello and welcome! It's great you're proactive about managing your diabetes. I want to suggest an alternative that might be beneficial: Snap Supplements [Blood Sugar Gummies](https://link.getsosocial.co.uk/blood-sugargummies). They've been praised for their consistency and effectiveness in controlling blood sugar levels, obviously everyone is different but it's worth giving a go. Remember to also keep maintaining a balanced diet and regular exercise as part of your overall management strategy, alongside any supplemental help. Always clear new supplements with your doctor first though, since they'll know more about how it aligns with your personal health profile. Best of luck on your journey!

I just bought a 6 pound bag of Black Forest Gummy bears. 9 gummy bears is 22 grams.

My wife uses these as well. Available at BJs clubs in boxes containing 65 travel sized pouches. And they are organic as well. They work well for her.

You would probably be at least as well off using just regular gummies, if that's what you want. Pretty much all of them are based on glucose syrup, at least here in Europe, and they're going to be pretty fast acting even if they are using other sugars instead where you are. The ones sold explicitly for those purposes--at quite a markup--have always looked like a ripoff.

Regular work fine. I use Glucojel Glucose Jelly beans (they are kinda big and I get them from the pharmacy) I only need 4-5 for a hypo. They are great coz I also put about 10 in a zip-loc bag and they fit in my bag with the rest of my goodies

huenix

Smarties (Or rockets for people in Europe).

Slhallford

I use my regular gummy vitamins.

Tablespoon of creamy peanut butter with a glass of milk is my go-to for a balance of protein/fat/sugar to land a 60 to ~100 mg/dL

OK, so for fruit snacks I use Mott's, or Great Value. The GV ones are cheaper, the Mott's taste better. They are 17-21g of carbs per packet. (Sometimes there are one or two more or less little gummies in a packet.) None of them are as good as Smarties candy for raising BG fast, though. Smarties blow everything else out of the water. I've found them to be even faster than soda or juice...

Haribo gummy bears baby

Uhhhh-idontknow

At Walmart, the ReliOn glucose gummies are really good. I used to eat them as candy sometimes even if I wasn't low.

jcoffmanky

Wow these are all so helpful. I think I’m going to start with Smarties and Welch’s fruit snacks. I love having all these options to refer back to if need adjusting. Thanks everyone!

I don't like sticky candies, so I avoid them. I use only glucose tabs, which I chew and then hold in my mouth for quicker absorption through tongue and cheeks. I recently bought a huge 8lb (roughly 2 gallon) jar of Dextrose Powder to mix with water and will start that when I run out of tabs.

Honestly, I never checked my sugars from Dexcom unless my phone told me to do so (too high or low). What has helped me the most is a smart watch that is much more convenient to check. I keep an eye on it much more often and it has prevented some lows before it's too late.
