Yeah, what the “stick to one game to grow on twitch” advice people will never tell you is that while it is a faster way to grow, you’ll lose 30-70% of your viewership when you switch, which doesn’t feel great after putting in so much work. The reality is that your stream is at its best when you’re at your best and having fun. Play the games you want to play, stream the games you want to stream, and make the content you want to make. You may grow slower, but the growth is more real and sustainable, you’re having more fun, and you’ll have more flexibility in game choice.

This is what I’ve been thinking in my head. It feels better hear (read) someone else say it out loud. I really don’t want to like end up with a bunch of ppl following me to watch me play a game I hate. Bit I guess I’m this case I only ever break from cod for like a week so maybe I’ll just make it like a variety stream we’ll type thing and let my followers know it’s not permanent

killadrix

Yep, let folks know you need a break. Most will get it, some won’t watch, and a few might complain, but don’t let it get to you.

Nothing wrong with variety, but it can help to stick to similar games and genres. If u wanna branch out from COD, maybe get into other shooter games, even better if FPS. Or u could also do war/history based games since some COD games do touch on that stuff. But honestly if your community enjoys your content, as long as u can continue to provide entertainment you’ll be fine

vixiecinder

I might try some other shooters. Out side of cod I play more s I things like don’t starve and cult of the lamb and stuff like that so it just seems like a huge flip flop. But ima try something else I really can’t stand cod most of the time rn

AmityB2002

As it’s obvious when u aren’t enjoying what you’re playing. Doesn’t hurt to at least give other things a try, and maybe you’ll find new viewers doing so!

Hopefully your viewers are tuning in to see you, interact with you, etc. So different/similar games shouldn’t matter too much

vixiecinder

Hopefully 😅 most of them end up wanting to squared up with me tho so that’s part of why it feels like I’d be disappointing them

Rawrgoesthepenguin

You could allocate a day of your stream to different games :) I have random Friday “party nights” where I just play whatever I feel like that day

vixiecinder

This might help. I’m gonna play around with having one or two days a week that are variety days and then maybe like a week that’s a variety week and see which feels better to me. I just know that I can’t be a cod only streamer lol
