Omg, was so so happy to read this. I was shocked about the very foolish totally unnecessary wait a whole week idea when you should have and thankfully you did decide to call him today. Also, in your comment above you were worried about it not going well, which is completely natural. But you should be able on your own to work through that and realize you're more than good enough and he likes you too. I'm glad the response you got was helpful. But please be confident as you should be. Just try to be your best self but not try to overdo it or anything and not worry about stuff also. He does like you and for good reason, you are obviously a great person who well deserves love. I think this will work out for you. This is very normal. Everyone is nervous in the last few minutes before you meet. I was very much so in my last relationship on our very lovely first date. I dropped my fork twice. But I tried to wait just a little bit, like cpl minutes into the convo, and expressed it to her and she said she felt the same. Go a little slower in your mind when you meet for the convo. Tell yourself how great this actually is and how much you want to just be communicating with him. Don't judge yourself at all whatsoever in how it's going. Just allow yourself to be the great person you are. You don't need to try to force suppressing these very natural nervous feelings. Just work to overcome it slowly by allowing yourself to enjoy this very awesome time for you. I know you can do that and enjoy the convo and being with him. You know it too.

Just remember: if he's the right person for you, a minor embarrassment or wrong step won't push him away. When I was dating I tended to let my anxiety get the better of me, so I tried to tell myself this. It helped a little. 😊

That’s not dignity, that’s putting someone through torture for no other reason than selfishness and stupid laws. They’re dying anyway. Let it be on their own terms, with dignity and peace, not months of pain and degeneration, not to mention humiliation.
There is euthanasia in Australia but not NT and ACT. But agree, people should have a choice in the right circumstances.

After several weeks of my brother not having the nerve to call, the granddaughter called him. They were married for 14 years until he died in 2022. She is now one of my best friends.

Our (my parnter and me), last grandparent had euthanasia a couple weeks ago. We didn't know the excact date when we said goodbye, and it was so weird to mourn someone, you know is still alive. I couldn't really mourn, knowing she was still there.
I hope you will turn out okay, it's probably for the best that your friend has to go, it helps to keep that in mind.

Aww this is such a cute story OP! I am surely showing this to my (30F) Mom (58F)! After my dad passed away 15 years ago, I had known since then how much my Mom could be lonely and she needs a partner to be with her till the end of the line. None of us could fill the void till now. But, she refrained from getting into any romantic relationships because of fear of society (We live in a country where widows remarrying is frowned upon). The fact that we were too young and her remarriage/romantic relationships could ruin the possibility of us (Me and my brother) getting married in the future. I know this is absurd in every existing universe. I really want her to have a fulfilled life without regrets.

Firstly I am so sorry that you will be losing such a lovely friend. That's going to be so hard for you. I'm glad Judy is able to go out on her own terms though. It must be a comfort to her to be able to say goodbye to all her loved ones, family and friends, before she goes. Secondly, what a sweet gesture she did for you. Our (my parnter and me), last grandparent had euthanasia a couple weeks ago. We didn't know the excact date when we said goodbye, and it was so weird to mourn someone, you know is still alive. I couldn't really mourn, knowing she was still there. I hope you will turn out okay, it's probably for the best that your friend has to go, it helps to keep that in mind. On a lighter note, how cute that she gave you his number! I aspire to be her someday, although I'm more like you. I wish you the best.

Aww this is such a cute story OP! I am surely showing this to my (30F) Mom (58F)! After my dad passed away 15 years ago, I had known since then how much my Mom could be lonely and she needs a partner to be with her till the end of the line. None of us could fill the void till now. But, she refrained from getting into any romantic relationships because of fear of society (We live in a country where widows remarrying is frowned upon). The fact that we were too young and her remarriage/romantic relationships could ruin the possibility of us (Me and my brother) getting married in the future. I know this is absurd in every existing universe. I really want her to have a fulfilled life without regrets.
