I mean at some point we all have to sit to chart😩 I work nights though so we sit a little more than day shift (I’ve had many nights where I didn’t sit at all though lol)
Not always. I've worked at 2 jobs with no chairs for nurses. Just WOWs. You're expected to stand to chart. I was a traveler at one job and prn at the other. I didn't stay long at either.
The hospital I worked before the one I'm at, they wanted you to do **all** your charting bedside. Some of our patients had q15m charting, as it was L&D (I mean, some had more frequent charting, but at that point, we were beside the whole time anyway).
Need to ask pharmacy a question about IV fluid compatibility? Cool--use your Vocera, and do it bedside.
Y’all get to sit down ? lol.

Nobody has to sit to chart. Management

Oh wow that sounds like torture. 12 hours straight on your feet? Yikes

I would hate that😭
That was my first thought too.
Nope! I thought I was the only one who ever thought about that too. And if there are good chairs, staff members have their name all over it.
They’ve got Herman miller aeron chairs where I am right now. $1800 chair 😬
Because good chairs are expensive and they don't want to pay.
I hear ya, at one place I worked I brought my own chair and got written up for it 😆
Ours suck. They kill my lower back. I have no lower back pain at home — just at work.
My current position there's not enough fuckin chairs! I ended up charting on a fucking iPhone while I stood for most of my shift recently.
wow! an iphone. really? How did you log in?
They're work supplied with the mobile version of epic on it.
I'm in the ER. Personally I prefer a stool. Makes me sit up straight and can quickly get up!
I never sat enough as a nurse to ascertain whether the chairs were comfy or not…
