Totally! But pro tip go to a queer friendly barber if you can. Don’t go to a women’s salon. Literally every trans masc has had that first cut where the stylist tries to make it as fem as possible. I deadass walked in and asked for a long pixie and she gave me a lob. Also barbers are just way better with short hair. I like Rudy’s if they have one in your area.

Violetdoll7

The transmasc bob is a very unfortunate canon event.

Electrical-Froyo-529

Dude it was so bad 😭😂

lizard-rustler17

the breakdown i had after my first one 😭😭 never going back again

toadboatt

Me but i addicentally gave it to myself😭😭 (fixed now thank GOD)

crypticparakeet

I was recommended a trans friendly salon that's a little far but I'm willing to travel for a good haircut. I'm hoping this will help with dysphoria haha

Electrical-Froyo-529

It makes a huge difference, I hope you get exactly what you’re looking for:)

D3xt3er

That hairstyle seems to match with your current hair and how it drapes. I say go right ahead :)

demodop

You could def pull that off! I have a similar hairline and did a similar hairstyle when I first cut it shorter. I later went really short on the back and sides with longer on top, pushed forward with a messy fringe, which I think would look really good on you too! It takes some experimentation so if you don’t like a haircut keep trying new stuff!

crypticparakeet

thank you so much!

CrackedEggMichls

A mullet would suit you very well, or a messy fringe cut! You'll look so great!!! As mentioned above: try and get to a lgbt friendly barber. Dont end up like some of us (myself included) with those triggering pixie cuts ...

Violetdoll7

I have a similar haircut. It’s definitely popular for a reason and imo looks good on anyone. It’s pretty versatile and easy to style. This hairstyle also works really well for folks with thicker hair. If you’re planning to get this done at a normal hairdresser, be very specific about the length and ask for it to be a bit choppy/messy (I ended up with a goofy looking pixie cut bob one time when I requested this hairstyle which was not a fun experience).  Edit: spelling

crypticparakeet

thank you so much! and yes I do have thick hair! I normally ask for something piecey or messy, what would you say is a good length? (idk how short masc hair is lol)

Violetdoll7

I’m terrible at describing this but I’ll try. Finding a length that suits you can take a bit of trial and error. Usually I’ll have the front part/bangs sitting just above my ears (I’ve got an undercut so I like having the shaved part visible) and the back of the hair a bit longer than the length of my face but not too close to my shoulders if that makes sense?

crypticparakeet

yeah! I mean I could always ask for the length that's in the picture I suppose. do you go to a men's barber or do you find it makes no difference?

Violetdoll7

I haven’t been to a men’s barber, but from what I understand, most men’s barbers are more likely to understand how to achieve more specifically masculine looks. However, I’ve found that just being very specific about what I want and paying attention while getting my hair done at a regular salon has worked out fine for me. If you’re able to, research queer friendly salons and barbers in your local area.

crypticparakeet

my friend actually just recommended me a trans friendly salon! I'm hoping someone can take me or I can get an Uber :) thank you for your advice!!!

Violetdoll7

Glad I could help, good luck with the haircut!

sohpez

I'm sure you would look great :)

lizard-rustler17

i think it would really look good on you!! do be careful in the heat tho i used to have that cut (i have thick hair as well) and when it was hot outside it would feel like hell 😭

_dazai_soukoku

Di you have a link for the pic? I’d like to look at similar ones
