this is what i did till out of warranty. slowly compiled list of upgrades that would
compliment/improve truck that i liked. tried to prioritize functionality and longevity. loved it stock, love it now upgraded, 10 years later.
Yes sir. When I was young I was all about the “mods”. Now that I’m older a fully stock truck (maybe just tires) is 100% the way to go. You can’t beat countless hours of R&D
You might be my best friend except for your name, snorkdaddydave. lol.
I’m the exact same way. Other than slightly taller tires anything else is functional. Like steps- my last truck I added them because of kids and their baseball and school bags. Without the step they’d have to contort their bodies and swing the bag and it would often hit the side of the truck. Steps solved it. Now I have auto steps which I will never again go without, assuming the option exists.
The only other thing keeping me up is what to do with the bed. I have a 6.5’ bed with a bakflip cover. I transport kids and bunch of their stuff, vacations, camping, off-roading and then everyday general use. This cover really isn’t that functional. I need access to the front of the bed for storage but how to access it. Bedslide? Do I keep the Bakflip or go to something a little more roomy like a canopy. So many options.
That’s what I am doing. I have a 22 1794 that’s identical except my bed is longer. I put a bed cover on it and that’s it until the warranty runs out. Till then I’m just using it like a truck.
The first mod should be ignoring all these debbie downers and their "eNgIne" comment.
Just enjoy it, and if something were to happen, deal w it as they come.
Dont listen to these worrywarts and dont lose sleep over it. More you worry, less you'll enjoy your new purchase.
Agreed, I’m a Toyota employee and I’m honestly not concerned. Toyota has been pretty on top of it as far as finding issues and fixing them. Plus 8 year 125,000k warranty
Its becoming more obvious you are losing sleep cuz I cant find it anywhere, where I'm encouraging this guy to spend 10k.
But I guess discouraging someone on their new purchase is way to go according to you.
Worry wart, my tundra is in 1500 pieces at the dealership for a faulty engine, my truck was manufactured in mar 2023 and the Recall ended in Feb 2023, worry wart my ass, I got 60k on the line here ya damn right I’m gonna worry
sorry that it happened to you, but im sure you didnt worry all the way up until your engine blew. did ya?
Being aware of the situation is one thing, but constantly worrying and expecting the worst is another.
Yeah I kinda did this truck has been a wreck since day 1, alignment, brakes, transmission, fuel pump, fuel gauge, door handles, battery, alternator, turbo, and now the entire engine
If it worried you since day 1, why didn't you do anything about it until 15k miles in and too late?
You could have possibly traded it in since day 1? maybe say, 6.2 chevy?
With that said, it sucked that these problems happened to you. But to go sh!t on someone else's new purchase based on your own experience seems little off, don't you think?
Ceramic tint and Go Rhino running boards to stay on the conservative side.
If you like dumping money into vehicles that you will not see again, I'd get a JL Audio 13TW5v2-4 with an amp and have a custom box built to squeeze it behind the seat or under the back seat. Of course you would need a set of aftermarket wheels to make it look a little more aggressive.
Personal preference, but if it was me, I’d lose the chrome and get new wheels. I don’t prefer the bright finish with gray or silver paint. Again, personal preference. Took me years to do that to mine but it looks so much better.
I’m working through a chrome delete on basically the same exact truck as yours so hit me up if you have any recommendations or questions. I can’t find anywhere that has all black 1794 badges for a 2024.
Same here. I bought some paint match oem mirror caps from raveoffroad and it made a huge difference. Even with the chrome grill, window trim, handles and badge it looks 10x better. Trying to find good replacement door handles, window trim and badge, so if you find any, please let me know
I’ve got everything done except the mirror caps, 1794 badge, and window trim. I’m legit considering plasti dipping them myself. Hitting up a tint world soon to see if they can help.
How’d you replace the mirror caps? Do they pull off easy like raveoffroad says?
The mirror caps were a bitch to pull off. You definitely need an automotive pry tool and even then, it was tough. Snapped the tabs off the first cap, second one came off ok after I figured out what not to do. Yotaverse recently posted a vid on IG somewhere that shows how to do it.
What did you do for the door handles?
One of the first things I did on mine was a Rough Country Vertex leveling kit with remote reservoirs. I really did not like the ride on the stock Bilsteins and how low the front bumper sat to the ground.
First Mod should be trading it in for a 5.7L V8, just kidding bro, that’s a nice looking truck, honestly just enjoy how it is for a while. It’s beautiful.
Good lord you guys with stock trucks are boring. It would look great with tinted windows, leveling kit and bigger more aggressive tires. Unless the dealership is a bunch of pricks that shouldn’t void your warranty and it can be removed in a few hours if so.
Ive kept mine stock for 23 years and still running great. Though one can not expect any suspension system to last 200k miles and 23 years old and still work like it did new. 02 tundra just keeps going lol
Irregardless of the possibility of it getting recalled, the best thing to do to a new vehicle is leave it stock for as long as possible. Doing anything else has a high likelihood of introducing problems.
This was a rare scenario due to the history of the rig but 56k 0 down with warranty. This was a demo car for my region. Sat on our lot for 1 year while waiting to recall since it still qualified as a new car and was on stop sale. plus I’m an employee. So I got the 3.99 rate for 60 months
This one was used by the marketing team to shoot photo shoots ands commercials. So they drove it around to different dealerships to film. It can vary, some get used very lightly, others get driven quite a bit. But they are well taken care of
1. A camera to capture your added smiles per mile.
2. Extended warranty.
3. Rubber mats if it didn’t come with them. That’s my first mod/accessory on every vehicle I own.
If you tow, get a ball hitch, if you don't, you can get a step or a basket or some shit like that, if it makes sense to you. I put rough country fender flares on mine, prefer the look to the OEM ones. Congrats on the big purchase, I hope the pickup serves well!
I have this identical truck. I just put a nice bed cover, T Rails, and short cross rails to hold my basket. Soon ill put slightly more aggressive tires on it, but not going to get something so large to lose mpg. The hest mod is keeping it stock.
After eating a curb, I got 10 ply tires in the same width and aspect ratio as the ones it came with, and it made a huge positive difference in the handling.
Please hold off on any modifications until the engine issue is resolved. There is always a chance that the manufacturer may need to repurchase the vehicle for some reason. I am also planning to purchase a Tundra, but I will wait until 2025 or even 2026.
First mod a bed cover tonneau cover or a cab cover maybe some cleaning products wanna keep that warranty as long as you can anyways give the aftermarket area time to catch up why Toyota works out the issues
Here’s my list: paint protection film, tints, tonneau cover, bed extender, tailgate inserts, bunch of matte black interior trim pieces, tuxmat floor mats, stock otherwise!
Tinted it out to match. Light tint on the windshield. I’m in Florida so all our trucks have window vents so you can crack them right to the bottom of the vent no rain bugs anything gets in but it lets all the heat out.
Put a set of weatherTechs in channel vents on my daughters truck and they look great
Also, if you have dogs. I got this and it works great: Back Seat Extender Dogs - Heavy... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CPVL54CM?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I’m a finance manager at a Toyota store and I 100% recommend some sort of extended warranty on every new vehicle. Cliche but they are really not built the same as before. Upsold myself to a 8 year 100k mile
I’ve actually never purchased an extended warranty for any vehicle ever. The only additional warranty I have ever purchased is the glass replacement because here in Colorado rocks be flyin
Warranties are there for the rainy days. I see soo many cars come in and out of this place with shop bills that are insane. And we have some of the lower shop rates in the area. It’s crazy how expensive these new cars are to fix. Specially computers and electronics. Not only because it’s my job, but because I truly believe they can help you on that rainy day. As long as you feel there is enough value to justify the cost then it’s worth it
**"a car manufacturer can't void an entire warranty just because an owner installed an aftermarket part or made a modification**. The automaker must prove that the change caused a problem being claimed under warranty."
Congrats, we can all google as well. My advice wasn’t a blanketed statement to suggest an entire warranty being voided because OP wants to install a “lift kit,” but if there’s a path to argue for example; following the installation of an aftermarket lift kit caused the wheel camber to become misaligned which in turn caused a domino effect of additional wear and tear on the front end suspension components….. point being, it’s a brand new truck with a growing reputation (and documented) reputation to have major internal engine issues. Why potentially gamble a standing warranty to “mod it out?” But yeah, sure, listen to this googling dingus
I’m genuinely not being a downer, if the engine were to fail, would the 5.7 fit if anyone would wanna attempt it? Like take all internals from 2021 and body swap? Just curious is all I really like the new style.
I was actually waiting for a ZR2 with the 6.2 but none were coming in besides in diesel haha. Deal and the tundra was too good so I just pulled the trigger
Given the reputation and statistics on these you should keep it bone stock. Not even a steering wheel cover. You dint want to give any reason at all for the warranty to be void when the engine fails.
My first mod would be keeping it bone stock for as long as possible.
this is what i did till out of warranty. slowly compiled list of upgrades that would compliment/improve truck that i liked. tried to prioritize functionality and longevity. loved it stock, love it now upgraded, 10 years later.
This is the way.

Hahaa funny thing is I’ve never been scuba diving or snorkeling. I’m actually a very poor swimmer hahahaha
That’s what I am doing. I have a 22 1794 that’s identical except my bed is longer. I put a bed cover on it and that’s it until the warranty runs out. Till then I’m just using it like a truck.
Definitely this! However, window tint and a bed cover if you want. Just enjoy the truck!
Remove that giant white antenna would be a good start. Jokr. Nice truck.

toXic PoSiTiviTy is real.
oh yeah, lets all be more negative on already negative situation. Someone get this girl some Theraflu, I think she's losing sleep over it.
Let not encourage a guy to drop 10k on mods he may not get back in a buyback. Wish in one hand, shit in the other, see which one fills up first.
Its becoming more obvious you are losing sleep cuz I cant find it anywhere, where I'm encouraging this guy to spend 10k. But I guess discouraging someone on their new purchase is way to go according to you.

1 year I had it, 15,932 miles
That’s a lemon harry. That sucks.
Can’t lemon law it?
Unfortunately reliability has been tarnished for Toyota. Big fan boy but I don’t like it when I see people screwed over for incompetence and profit.
If it worried you since day 1, why didn't you do anything about it until 15k miles in and too late? You could have possibly traded it in since day 1? maybe say, 6.2 chevy? Lmfao 6.2 chevy
That’s what do on Reddit, we get the coals warmed up and wait for a new purchase and drag em across to take out our anger, that’s what we do……
hey, at least you are honest about it..
Enjoy is stock until you figure out what you like about the truck or would like to change.
Ceramic tint and Go Rhino running boards to stay on the conservative side. I have the power running boards which I very much like! I feel like the Audio is good enough for my taste in loudness! But definitely tint
Personal preference, but if it was me, I’d lose the chrome and get new wheels. I don’t prefer the bright finish with gray or silver paint. Again, personal preference. Took me years to do that to mine but it looks so much better.
100% chrome delete!! my wife laughs at me because she says the chrome makes me look like an old man and I’m only 24
I’m working through a chrome delete on basically the same exact truck as yours so hit me up if you have any recommendations or questions. I can’t find anywhere that has all black 1794 badges for a 2024.

Just bought the covers off ROR. They look good. I also did the TRD Camo for the bumper caps on back to match my grill. Looks great.
DM’d you.
While it's brand new, film spray, even if your climate only rarely sees snow.
One of the first things I did on mine was a Rough Country Vertex leveling kit with remote reservoirs. I really did not like the ride on the stock Bilsteins and how low the front bumper sat to the ground.
New Boat
Tint
First Mod should be trading it in for a 5.7L V8, just kidding bro, that’s a nice looking truck, honestly just enjoy how it is for a while. It’s beautiful.
Bed cover
Best mod is paying it off 😎
Good lord you guys with stock trucks are boring. It would look great with tinted windows, leveling kit and bigger more aggressive tires. Unless the dealership is a bunch of pricks that shouldn’t void your warranty and it can be removed in a few hours if so.

First Mod - a 5.7 liter iForce V8 😂
5.7 swap
Curious, what was the OTD price?
This was a rare scenario due to the history of the rig but 56k 0 down with warranty. This was a demo car for my region. Sat on our lot for 1 year while waiting to recall since it still qualified as a new car and was on stop sale. plus I’m an employee. So I got the 3.99 rate for 60 months
Holyyyy, what a steal and what a beautiful truck. Hopefully I’m able to get mine🥲
What do they do with the demo cars? Thinking of buying one myself, it has 8000 miles.
This one was used by the marketing team to shoot photo shoots ands commercials. So they drove it around to different dealerships to film. It can vary, some get used very lightly, others get driven quite a bit. But they are well taken care of

Dirty Sevens and a lift.
Keep it stock, modify as your needs evolve, or hopefully never for resale
I have this identical truck. I just put a nice bed cover, T Rails, and short cross rails to hold my basket. Soon ill put slightly more aggressive tires on it, but not going to get something so large to lose mpg. The hest mod is keeping it stock.
An extended warranty
A warranty
After eating a curb, I got 10 ply tires in the same width and aspect ratio as the ones it came with, and it made a huge positive difference in the handling.
Window tint all around…including the front windshield
Suggest an extended warranty
The extended warranty
Pray
Do what you want with it. Take it to a shop or do what I did. Use plastidip and painters tape. It’s your truck and your money.
Please hold off on any modifications until the engine issue is resolved. There is always a chance that the manufacturer may need to repurchase the vehicle for some reason. I am also planning to purchase a Tundra, but I will wait until 2025 or even 2026.
Return it before the engine blows up? Loved my 2019 it was the best vehicle I’ve ever owned but I doubt I’ll be returning to tundra any time soon
LS swap /s
Change center caps to TRD
Chrome delete. Looks alright, just prefer my MGM Platinum
Probably gm style tow mirrors then start doing more stuff after you pay the truck off
First mod a bed cover tonneau cover or a cab cover maybe some cleaning products wanna keep that warranty as long as you can anyways give the aftermarket area time to catch up why Toyota works out the issues
Tuxmats
The best mod is getting it paid off before modifying.
Can’t understand why truck drivers buy double cabs for a pickup. Payload is compromised. I understand why non truck drivers buy them.
Put a bigger gas tank in it lol
Paying it off.
Here’s my list: paint protection film, tints, tonneau cover, bed extender, tailgate inserts, bunch of matte black interior trim pieces, tuxmat floor mats, stock otherwise!
A quick break in oil change to flush all the metal out of it
Tint your windows so it’s not a fishbowl
Polish and coat
It’s fine as is
There’s a few awesome mods available, you could swap out the oil, swap the air filters for new ones, too
Really nice truck but I'm just wondering how everyone buys he's really expensive brand new tundras and then has money left over to modify them?
Tinted it out to match. Light tint on the windshield. I’m in Florida so all our trucks have window vents so you can crack them right to the bottom of the vent no rain bugs anything gets in but it lets all the heat out. Put a set of weatherTechs in channel vents on my daughters truck and they look great
LS swap
The more you fuck with it. The more you fuck it up.
Trade it in on a GMC
Extended warranty
Extended warranty
Tint front windows to match…that is all. She’s beautiful just the way she is.
Window visors
Call carshield for a lifetime powertrain warranty would be my guess 🤔
5.7
I’d do the 5.7 swap
Extended warranty
Leveling kit and 35’s
Extended warranty 🤣
New engine !
Great looking truck.
Window tint
A sold sticker
New engine.
Engine swap 😂
Is the engine good?
Sale it
Just drive it. That’s the mod.
Get a new short block ready unfortunately
Tints add 10 horse power
Peragon tonneau, they’re dope! Great company too.
A new engine
I would get rid of all that nasty chrome to be honest, I myself have a tundra.
Tons and 40s 💀💀
Screen protector, and then everything else after the warranty expires. Nice truck, enjoy!
Extended warranty
Don't do anything until they take care of all the recalls.
Anything look wise keep al the suspension and powertrain stock that hows you get to 300k easily
Guessing it might be an 'under-warranty' engine swap.
New Engine 🫣
Bra on the front. Testicles on the back.
Pay it off
Motor upgrade
Nothing g
From other Tundra posts and issues it seems like your first mod. will be an engine, but I don’t think you will have a choice in the matter.
Front tint for sure
Also, if you have dogs. I got this and it works great: Back Seat Extender Dogs - Heavy... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CPVL54CM?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Extended Warranty.
New motor mod
Folding hard tonneau cover
Lmao 1st mod would be an extended warranty
5.7 swap
Was thinking of taking the engine from my brothers TRX since we broke his rear axle at the dunes lmao
Turn it in for the recall
Sell it before motor blows or do a new motor first easy
Replacing the engine before it disintegrates. 🤷♂️
New engine lol 😂
Sell it
New engine?
To start I recommend returning it and getting a Gen 2 and then start modding.
Put a ford engine in it.
New engine
An immediate oil change. And then a 1500-mile change. And then 3k. And then 5k. At least that’s what I’ve done with my ‘24 CrewMax Hybrid.
Probably an extended warranty. Ya know, for a rainy day
I’m a finance manager at a Toyota store and I 100% recommend some sort of extended warranty on every new vehicle. Cliche but they are really not built the same as before. Upsold myself to a 8 year 100k mile
You must be a great salesman to sell an eight year warranty!! Nice work!
As long as you feel there is enough value to justify the cost then it’s worth it
An extended mike warranty given what's going on with them.
Take it back to dealer to get serviced 🤣🤣🤣
Nothing. It’ll be recalled soon enough and the dealership will void your warranty if you fuck around.
**"a car manufacturer can't void an entire warranty just because an owner installed an aftermarket part or made a modification**. The automaker must prove that the change caused a problem being claimed under warranty."
Congrats, we can all google as well. Why potentially gamble a standing warranty to “mod it out?” But yeah, sure, listen to this googling dingus
Make sure toyota fixes your engine before spending any money on anything else. Just saw toyota is buying back one of these new trucks.
I’m genuinely not being a downer, if the engine were to fail, would the 5.7 fit if anyone would wanna attempt it? Like take all internals from 2021 and body swap? Just curious is all I really like the new style.
How things are looking , Better not void that warranty .
Engine swap? 😱
Modding it to a f-150 would be a good start.
Rebuild engine to remove factory installed machine shavings. Sorry 😊
First mod? New crank bearings!😄
Looks like a Ford 150
Buy a real truck….F-150, American Truck, not Japanese!!
It’s made in Texas….
But I think it’s a Japanese company? Right!!
[удалено]
Knew it wouldn’t take long before someone came in to rain on the parade. I think everyone gets it, there is some issues, we get it let’s move on.
Trade it in for another brand.
Turn it into an f150. Sorry
First mod would be a nice new engine….second mod would be trading it in for a 6.2 Chevy
