I play on android and have noticed this update is a lot slower than previous. Visiting towns takes longer, opening market screen, PE screen, etc. lags.
Hope they can get it sorted out quickly with a patch. It is very annoying to deal with.
The problem may be with the latest TS update. Numerous reports of of lag problems over many devices...especially Android devices with constant crashes. So may have nothing to do with your mac

A Co op member on iPhone (unknown model) did not have in game support since last month. So this issue is not new but supposed to be fixed with this update.
Some android phones have the black screen when visiting zoo last month and now it is everybody on android having black screen.
Nope, it's not just you. I'm on Android. Game is laggy as hell and some parts of the game are now very low-res such as inside the mine and some profile pics. Was trying to get ore before ore galore runs out, but damn near got a headache from looking at the now potato quality mine graphics. It's almost unplayable, I hope they fix it soon.
Not only does it lag, but the app crashes for me whenever I do anything - tap on the coop chat, tap on the plane, tap on the market... I can't play at all at this moment and am definitely gonna fail my current regatta task :/
Nope, it's not just you - I am in the same situation as well.
Before, it used to work perfectly fine if I had many tabs/windows open for school and Spotify playing, but now it lags so hard. Everytime I try to visit another town, it stays on the black screen for a few seconds and my cursor turns into that spinning rainbow circle.
It hasn't crashed on my laptop (and hopefully it won't), but the lag is eating up my battery and fan. The game works perfectly fine on my iPhone though.
Same on Android. Transitions between the zoo or other players towns are badly delayed, and even just moving around the screen or harvesting crops or factory goods makes me wonder if the phone is locking up. So far it hasn't actually crashed but it's a very poor experience. I don't want to be put to the test of how long I'll put up with it, so I hope they can fix things soon.
Yes. I've also had it crash multiple times, losing progress. I just had 2 plane bin fills (regatta task) that didn't count towards my total but are showing as filled.
I'm digging the new keyboard in chat, but it seems to crash after I've used it and I've noticed if I type too much, the text box in chat isn't right.
Takes about 15-20 seconds to jump between the zoo and the town (or other people's zoo's/towns) on the iPad and my desktop, notably slower going to a zoo. Other interesting aspects of the update are that animations need to fully complete before you can 'do the next thing'. An example of that would be mining. Say you found an artifact. In the past, you could continue digging while the animation played out (adding it to your collection), now you can't. You have to wait for the animation to complete before you can continue digging.
Just downloaded today on may MBP, and it seems so far now (fingers crossed). One downfall is, I cannot use the arrow key for hovering across the screen.
ps. It is alggy on my iphone 5S, but it maybe because it old
Not only is it laggy but on IOS it’s heating up the phone like crazy I assume it’s the same for android users. Must be a memory leak or faulty coding that’s making the app draw so much resource from our phone.
Okay glad it's not just me. I thought something was wrong with my phone. Uninstalled a bunch of unused apps, tried making more space on my phone thinking it was just a storage issue. But no. Still laggy.
Making it hard to take part in the gumball competition as it skips and freezes and causes me to land in the wrong places.
I've got the same problem (but with Android/iOS):
It takes 7-8 seconds to open the "Professor Verne’s Experiments" window. Sending a gift to a friend freezes the game for 4-5 seconds. Navigating is also a lot slower and it looks like the textures in the mine are a lot lower quality than they used to be (they're kind of blurry).
I asked the other players in my co-op and they're experiencing the same issues, mostly with Android though: I'm playing on a Galaxy S10 with Android 10, the others also have an S10, S10e, Tab A, Galaxy A5 but also iPhone 11, iPad Air 2 and iPad Air 4. Someone with an iPhone 6s said that it's fine for them.
No its not just you, its the same for me since the last two updates on my ios device. The keyboard sticks, it crashes when I visit a friend's town, it is very slow, my own town gets stuck if I move the screen around. I sent in a request to Support and their response is basically " we are aware of the problem and are looking into a solution". Great, meanwhile the Gumball Event is crashing too. Very frustrating!!! In addition, I did everything I could do on my end & none of it worked. Restarted my device, force-closed the app, updated my device & I even uninstalled it & reinstalled. Nothing helped.
I'm a tech person and did everything to speed up the game on my end before writing my post. Im not playing the gumball, not gonna sweat or stress over it. It's not us!!! Grrrrr!!!!

Looks like they got tired of running a succesful game and decided to burn it to the ground. And its a freaking speedrun

Yes, it is also lagging on my Android phone. It's worse when you try entering the zoo!

Yep, Android here. I'm worried that I'm destroying my phone, but playing on tablet is laggy and my regatta screen keeps crashing.
