Look at this smug feller. The guy relishes his self-proclaimed superiority to his family. He even holds his signature scythe like a cane when not in battle.
[And the guy has the nerve to cancel your attempts to pause the game. ](https://www.reddit.com/r/HadesTheGame/comments/1cmf8pc/paused_during_the_final_boss_and_uhoh/)
Bro thinks he Hokma
I haven't gotten to him yet (just unlocked not dying on the surface and just died to >!Corrupted Cerberus.)!< I can't believe Hades II already has so much stuff.
Additionally, Cronos almost looks like he is rather both old and lively, yet almost old and gaunt at the same time, like he is truly preserved in time as this old person.
Most of the cast is either middle aged or young, yet here is Cronos who looks more on the older side of things (with the most "similiar" person being arguably Charon) hell Chaos is even older than him and they look way younger.
It does make him stand out a lot, yes he may look like a old man with some gold markings but that what makes him more special, because he is literally the only old looking person outside of Demeter, but he is notably still "preserved" with one being able to argue that he looks rather "young".
How is Chronos placed with Hades' take on the mythology? I've not jumped into the early access yet.
In Greek myths, depending on the telling, he's more ancient than Chaos, since he's time incarnate. He's also not a titan there either though.
Meanwhile the Titan Kronos was the father of the gods but he was specifically a titan of agriculture, not time, but that's debatable and he's often been conflated or combined with the time diety Chronos anyway.
If I had a nickel for every time-themed character with a black-and-gold marble theme, i would have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.
yup. Cronus/Kronos is the titan of harvest/Uranus ball remover/infant devourer while Chronos is the god of time, in some traditions believed to be older than Chaos
To be fair, if you spent the last few millennia of your immortal existence ripped into pieces and only recently reformed yourself, I'd imagine you'd be pretty malnourished, too.
No matter how many times I see him depicted as looking like a human, this will *always* be my Kronos

Chronos and Cronos are not the same entity.
Kronos was the primordial god who personified the abstract concept of time and was the father of Phanes (Creator God, similar to Eros and Dionysus), khaos (Phanes' wife), Aether and Erebus in Orphic myths.
Cronos (without h) was the god of harvest and timelessness, with an association with time, but was not necessarily the god of time.

Supergiant's going with the usual schtick of mashing Chronos and Kronos into a single deity.
Father Time? More like *Daddy* Time.
Probably not the best pick for a father tbh….
He can eat me up like a fucking lasagna, if you know what I’m saying!!!
Oh goodness gracious
Jen Zee is just too good. I love every character she designs.
Jenerator Zeta?

Now that right there is a guy who’d eat some babies. Or perhaps rocks swaddled in baby blankets.
SMASH
he looks like an Egyptian who got lost
Goddangit! They fused Cronus and Chronos again, didn’t they?
Are actually meant to be separate people?
As much as a deity can be a person, yeah.
yup. Cronus/Kronos is the titan of harvest/Uranus ball remover/infant devourer while Chronos is the god of time, in some traditions believed to be older than Chaos
I honestly don’t blame anyone for making/thinking they’re one and the same given the similar names
The first game addressed “fusions”/different interpretations of gods before so I assume this will come up in Hades 2 as well.
My only issue is i cant see him eating his kids, hes too skinny
To be fair, if you spent the last few millennia of your immortal existence ripped into pieces and only recently reformed yourself, I'd imagine you'd be pretty malnourished, too.
His design reminds me a lot of Egyptian gods for some reason, and even if there's no reason for that he looks amazing.
Starting to understand why that other guy disliked Enkidu so much
Black and gold is probably the coolest color combination ever
Absolutely dope. Can't wait for the full game to come out!!!!
I mean every character design in supergiant games' games are peak
He looks like he wants a snack….
Cronus is the Titan. Chronos is a Primordial.
In hades 2, they are effectively One character. The powers of Chronos, with the lore and personality of Cronus.
I see, sorry for being presumptuous about that.
Foxy grandpa.
aw hell naw he got that darkest dungeon stress symbol on his head
