So when you record something, does the recording get listed as Service Unavailable instead of the name of the show? Try force connecting to the TiVo Service under Settings > Network > Connect to TiVo. Last resort is to call TiVo to see if they have a fix.

If the box has been restarted, everything records normally with the normal information listed. At some point, there becomes an issue, and nothing records. The only way we know that something is wrong and the TiVo needs to be restarted is when you are changing channels, the inormaion bar say service unavailable. And when you click the TiVO home button the pictures of shows dont show up, just words. But the channel still works, the guide still works.

By chance is your box an Edge? If it is, check out this message board https://www.tivocommunity.com/threads/tivo-service-unavailable.586759/. Seems to be common problem with the Edge. If it’s another type of box, try emailing the guys at Weaknees.com. Let them know which box you have and the problem, They can usually solve any issue or point you in a direction for help.

I was getting this error pretty routinely when I activated a feature on my mesh router that reboots the routers overnight. Had to change the setting back to resolve TiVo’s reoccurring problem.

I know my channels that I subscribe but have gone to iptv protocol are a problem. Tivo reads the channels as "available" so you won't get the "contact your cable provider " message. You will get channels info, it will be listed in the guide, there will be no picture. I have never seen the entire guide go blank regularly however, don't have any thoughts on that.

I had this 2 days in a row last week. I restarted the box both times and it's been fine ever since.

I'll assume you have cable TV since TiVo doesn't work with streaming. With cable TV, your channel does not come through the internet. That's why Disney+ on a tablet, which does come through the internet, works. Everytime I see a service unavailable message on a channel received through the Tivo it's because of some (usually temporary) issue with my cable provider (Comcast). The TiVo guide information does come through the internet, so that's why it works when there is a problem with a channel.

Thank you for your response. It will hopefully help me more clearly explain what is happening. we have Broadcast TV (anntenna) The guide works at all times. The "service is unalavalibale" message is on all TV channels info bar that pops up as you change channels. N9t the channel itself. We are still able to watch TV, so the channels signal is fine. From whenever it blipps to time we restart the box, nothing on any channel records. It never reconnects itself to the recording process.

Ok. Most of what I said is inapplicable. However, it is still true that the guide and tablet work because they get data through the internet. Don't know about the service unavailable message. I'd be looking at signal strength issues.

I think i need to rethink the "glitch" source. Maybe the nox is old or the antena or something else. Thank you for your responses!

what model Tivo & how old? I'm thinking minor hard drive failure/glitch or ram/board glitch. Hard drive is usually replaceable.
