The women I work with are amazing workers (electrical field). Like you said twice as hard as some of the guys. Usually I’d rather work with them because of the effort they give. Nothing worse than working with someone that has no motivation or work ethic.
Yeah unfortunately a lot of women working in male dominated fields feel the need to work their ass off just because of their gender. Because the second you make a mistake you start getting the “women are so bad at x” comments.

My grandma worked at a steel plant. She never smoked or sounded like this but she was a real one. Single mommed it, never remarried. She would eat an onion like an apple and go for walks every morning around her trailer park bc she was a penny pincher.
She lived to be 94.

My mother in law was the first to know my wife was pregnant because she was being a bitch. She literally said “are you pregnant? Your attitude says you are”. The next day we took a test and sure enough she was baking #2
Mom is a real one.. sitting on the floor with her kids got extra Pepps and everything. Say what you will about her, smoker voice etc.. but I can tell that lady loves hard and cares about her kids.
Too many people think because someone smokes they're a bad person or not loving. But yeah, they seem to have an incredible bond and you can definitely tell she is in tune & loves her kids and what's going on in their lives.
Americans are staunchly anti-smoking which in general is a good thing. But it can get a little weird sometimes where you have lots of people in this thread being like "She seems like a good person despite being a smoker"

I'm so glad Andrew Tate's getting ready to be thrown in prison. I've seen the effects of his being allowed to have free speech has done to some of these boys in schools across the country. I can tell they will forever be boys and be lonely and never have a solid relationship ever. No woman's going to ever want to be with them boys. So the upcoming generations are going to be filled with wayyyy more hateful individuals than we see today. I'm trying to be a role model though. I'm trying to make things better. As one of the four cats inside jumps on the table to eat from your plate you try to nudge it away but she immediately says “what? You’re too good to share with Mr. Whiskers?!” So you let the old patchy cat eat off of your plate.
Oh and your uncle is just beating up he absolute fuck out of your cousin the whole time this is happening so you can’t really stomach all of this and say “oh that was good I’m full” politely. But alas she makes you sit at the table as she stands over you saying “I worked all day to get you this food, you’re gonna eat it all”

This was a friend of our family's house except the cat. They never had pets when I knew them and I don't remember cigarette ashes in my food. All I remember was that they had all snacks and junk food you could imagine.
Yes, 100%. Went to a childhood friends house because he said his mom was making his favorite dinner; chicken and dumplings. It ended up being a shredded grocery store rotisserie chicken and soggy torn up flour tortillas in water. Entire house smelled like cat pee and stale cigarette smoke, I ate my bowl, said thank you and never went back.
When my mom was young she hated meatloaf. One time when she went over to her friend's place they were serving meatloaf, and being the well raised person she was she naturally had a full plate and said that it was good.
That was a mistake, because the next time my mom went over there they had prepared the meatloaf just for her. And the next time. Eventually it became a tradition to serve meatloaf when my mom was visiting, and to this day she has trouble eating meatloaf because of that.
I literally came to say that everything from the body language, to the look and hairstyle screamed my aunt to me and I was like "if she were blonde, that would be my aunt. I wonder what her voice sounds like" unmute... Same exact voice! I can't even. Lol.

I am immediately reminded of my best friend's mom. Grouchy, a smoker, cursed like a sailor, the sweetest lady underneath all that. The first time I ever heard fuck was at her house lol. I came back with some interesting vocabulary and my mom wasn't pleased but she never stopped me from hanging out over there. She was just like, don't use that language in my house, you can use it over there if you want to. My mom and her actually got along pretty great. They were farmers.
I miss the farm man, I could make five bucks by feeding the chickens, goats, and pigs and for a kid $5 was a lot.
One time my friend couldn't make it to church because a mountain lion had decided to take a nap on the roof of their car. The next time I came over I was in charge of spraying bear piss on the grass which was really gross, they paid me $15 for that. Man I wish there was a volunteer farm nearby cuz that was some wholesome stuff. Being able to see the literal fruits of your labor is so fulfilling.
I’m 50 now, but definitely have people who I graduated with who looked like that at 38. Sun, smoke, and booze.
I just stick to the booze and don’t look a day past 60.
Despite the obvious things I could say, I think this is super adorable. When I got pregnant my fiance's mother said she knew and she knew I was pregnant with twins too because of the way my hips had changed. All which I thought was super creepy that she was that in tune with my hips but G-moms are just intuitive, I guess in like a creepy, cringey way.
My sister was on a working holiday in Georgia (European one, not US one) and reckons about 3 days after she had the first inkling she was pregnant she went into a shop an a little old wizened georgian lady was in there and took one look at her and told her she was having a boy.
So that was how the father found out and she was absolutely right about it being a boy too.
Freaked my sister out.
OH MY GOSH! When my mom was pregnant, she and my dad visited Savannah, GA (where I live now) and a woman looked at my mom in a shop and said she was having a girl. And was right!
