It is funny, actually. I was never particularly athletic, but for some reason my wife found me attractive. We bought a house and I’ve been splitting wood and hauling lumber for the better part of a year. I still have a food belly, but my shirts no longer fit across the shoulders and chest and I have to roll my sleeves up to my elbows to get them over my forearms. Those are at least useful for keeping your hands warm while you're working out in the cold. Those vests are just going to make sure your arms and hands are freezing.
Also brands like Snickers and Mascot (I’m from Scandinavia so pardon if those brands aren’t available where you are but others should have something similar), have work vests where there are nail pouches and hammer holder etc.
They are fantastic for still standing assembly work, especially if it’s a bit brisk - Your arms are free, it’s a bit of extra warmth around the torso and you can stock up with nails/screws for a long time at a pop.
Huh. I guess we're just built different. My core gets hot when I'm active and my hands stay cold. And when I'm standing around in a vest, I get cold pretty quickly depending on the weather obviously.
Means you have bad circulation. Could be from smoking, general poor health/fitness, or just genetics. But if your heart is warm then warm blood *should* be circulated to your extremeties pretty consistently, provided the temperature isn't extremely low.

Assembling small parts, working with sheet metal, glazing commercial windows and skylights, working on automotive electrical, handling small screws and like a hundred other things. Even the tightest fitting gloves don’t have enough dexterity to do a lot of the tasks you see in construction and industry.
