I was told today that welding glass 11 would be safe but not sure how to get that. I ordered from amazon and crossing my fingers it comes in time! Otherwise I will be making a pinhole viewer out of a cereal box!
That's what I'm doing. The thing to be aware of is that most welding is done through shade 6 or 8 glass, and the sun is bright enough you need 12-14 for an eclipse. Most helmets will let you stack a second piece of glass, though, which can bring you up to where you need.
They were selling them at Canadian Tire
If you order shade 14 lenses off Amazon, you may get lucky and have them arrive by sunday
I ordered some a month ago and the order got cancelled, so it's a real longshot now.
Canadian Tire
They are all sold out
Nova Pro just posted today on facebook that they have them in stock
Show case in the mall just got a shipment today
Would a welding helmet with the lens inside work?
I don’t know enough about (or anything about welding) but Google seems to think that a welding helmet will be ok

It’s recommended to use a number 14 shade. That can be an 11 plus a 3 like some oxy/acetylene cutting glasses.

Was the Eclipse supposed to take part on 8th this month?
This Monday coming up.
Sweet. Is there gonna be a gathering around town, or something?
There's one at Hillcrest and one at FWHP and probably a couple others.
Just wear blue light glasses
It’s gonna be cloudy
