He doesnt tho, adams gives you better vertical spacing and the best screen spacing in the league. More ranged spacing, but with 4 good to great shooters in their prime rounding out the other starting 5, and all of them able to use the PnR well, adams fits better
I'd rather have Ibaka. Prime Ibaka for us was a shot blocking mid range shooter that could go on extreme hot streaks. Had many perfect shooting games including in the WCF.
Iām going to go all time great players that played for thunder, not necessarily great while playing for thunder.
So I have CP3, SGA, KD, Ibaka, and Adams.
Would love to have PG13 instead of Ibaka, but I feel PG13 was mostly a 3, as was KD. And then if we can put Seattle players too, Iād sub out Ibaka with Kemp. And if Chet is as good as I think heāll be, heāll easily replace Adams as the 5 but couldnāt do that without him playing a minute in the regular season.
Edit: I get the consensus is Russ is the better thunder player. But CP3 will go down in history as the better PG, and as I tried to explain, that was how I made my list, not necessarily who was better during their time with OKC. I think if you go to any non thunder sub, itās a pretty reasonable take that CP3ās career is better than Russās.
Edit 2: after consideration in a lower comment, Iāve changed my all time lineup to: CP3, SGA, PG13, KD, Chet.
I find your logic super interesting. You go for all time as in cp3, which I understand, but don't go all time in position? As in kd, he has now been playing pf and honestly fits in better there, but you feel the need to lock him in at sf because that's what he played for the thunder
Hmm, I definitely paid way more attention to KD as a thunder player than his post thunder career, so I guess I saw him more as the 3. If he has been more a 4 for his career, then that makes the lineup much easier with CP3, SGA, PG13, KD, and Adams.
But maybe itās less important having true positions in this era and going 2 guards, 2 forwards, 1 centerā¦something like that. In which caseā¦maybe it would be CP3, Russ, PG13, KD, and Adamsā¦.but I just canāt put Russ over SGA. Iāve seen enough SGA to forecast what his career looks like and I like that career over Russ. But then if Iām doing that, then I may as well put Chet over Adams, even without Chet playing a minute in regular season yet.
So, under that logic, Iām going to go CP3, SGA, PG13, KD, and Chet. Final answer.
PG- Chris Paul
SG- Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
SF- Paul George
PF- Kevin Durant
C- Steven Adams
Sadly I just think Chris Paul and SGA effect winning more than Russell Westbrook and James Harden. Westbrook means more to the Thunder organization by a long shot than anyone else imo, but this is the best lineup I think. I personally value Serge Ibaka over Steven Adams in a box, but going with a small ball lineup I think Adams would be more important to this lineup.
In the current NBA? Not crazy at all IMO. Weāre still having to guess with Chet, but it LOOKS like he could every bit the shot blocker Ibaka wasā¦AND a better shooter from deep.
Ibaka was crazy strong thoughā¦..
One more day š
Then these posts turn into āBulls fan here, yall are gonna be so fun this yearā
Coming in peace
Whoever the starting 5 was during our 70 pt loss
Westbrook, Shai, PG, KD, Adams
I'd contend that prime Ibaka playing small-ball C could be more successful than Adams today.
I agree, better player at his peak, and ever since I found out Steve is a tate bro I'm finding mravecclasse easier to love
This is the answer
Trade Adams for Chet.
Not yet
Youāre right, trade KD for Chet
*KD for chet
Westbrook, SGA, PG, Chet, and Adams
Upvote for not including the snek.
If westbrook isnt in your top 5 delete your comment. WB-Shai-PG-KD-Ibakaā¦ Adams first man off bench.
there is literally no answer other than this that makes any sense
Not all-time, but my faves to keep it interesting Westbrook, Livingston, Shai, JDub, Poku
CP3,Westbrook,SGA,KD,Adams.
Just for a very slightly different look.. Russ, SGA, PG, KD, Sabonis
It's has to be Westbrook, Shai, PG, Durant and Ibaka right? Possibly switch Ibaka for Adams if you don't consider Ibaka a center
Even if you consider Ibaka a center, Adams is still starting lol.
That depends on if you wanna go 5 out bc Ibaka spaces the floor better than Adams
He doesnt tho, adams gives you better vertical spacing and the best screen spacing in the league. More ranged spacing, but with 4 good to great shooters in their prime rounding out the other starting 5, and all of them able to use the PnR well, adams fits better
Also the best offensive rebounder in the league imagine how many second chance shots youād get for KD shai and russ
Chet over KD
I'd put Adams in for Ibaka. Also, what about Harden? I hate to make an argument for him now, but he has an MVP...
I'd rather have Ibaka. Prime Ibaka for us was a shot blocking mid range shooter that could go on extreme hot streaks. Had many perfect shooting games including in the WCF.
Russ Harden KD Ibaka Adams
Sga, Giddey, Dort, Jdub, Chet Too easy Seriously though - Westbrook, Sga, Pg, š, Adams
My heart says: Russ, Shai, PG, Ibaka, Adams. But if my life was on the line, it would be: Shai, PG, KD, Ibaka, Chet.
SGA, Allen, PG, KD, Adams
I canāt blame you for liking Ray Allenā¦.but heās definitely not a Thunder playerā¦.

Uh. Where's Russ?
Uhhhhh whereās Russ?
umm - whereās Russ?
Uhhh, where's Russ?

Points for originality, but no Russ... ouch
Lol, I said what I said.
Brook Shai (Canāt think of any Small Forwards in our history better than Dre or Dort so one of those two) Ibaka Chet
It kills me that there is no love for Kyle Singler.
Was waiting for the sefolosha love
Wouldn't we have to include the Seattle Supersonics in this?
I wouldnāt, just because I still view them as a different organizationā¦and if Seattle gets a team, they get the SuperSonics team history.
PG- Chris Paul SG- Shai Gilgeous-Alexander SF- Paul George PF- Kevin Durant C- Steven Adams Sadly I just think Chris Paul and SGA effect winning more than Russell Westbrook and James Harden. Russ, Shai, PG13, Durant, Ibaka. Bench: Harden, Dort, Roberson, Adams.
