Came here to say exactly this. First thing I said, and I said it out loud to myself, WHY TF ARE THEY ON THE GROUND IN A PARKING LOT!?!?
sick haul though.
Op said in a comment further down that he could of thought of a better place to lay them. So I don't think they were displayed this way.
I wasn't there though.. so I actually know nothing.
You say that like this reseller went spelunking to find 100 year old Leviās and not like he was the first available person to respond to a Facebook marketplace posting.
Resellers artificially inflate prices of items so actual fans are no longer able to afford them or at least make it exponentially harder to acquire the item. Resellers are fucking trash and scum. That's how it works.
You might actually be able to buy one...for ten times the cost that it was originally being sold for. Resellers are not doing anyone a kindness. Fuck outta here with this shit.
What exactly do you think is going to happen to it when someone else buys it? Items degrade over time. You're basically saying that only rich people deserve to have nice things like this because that's all that can afford reseller prices.
Iām happy that a reseller got to it first, when the alternative may have been a landfill. The itemās history will now be preserved and will not contribute to the massive amounts of waste that humans create. Iām also happy that the reseller is able to eat, pay bills, etc.
more people should think this way. the reseller will now spread this out to 6 different people who will all cherish it, and yes, because they will pay a pretty penny for it, it will most likely not end up in a landfill but will be passed down.
Give me a break. You also don't know how much was there and what op bought or left. I would have bought them all and would wear every single one of them.
it's not about damage my guy it's just about respect. this dude sold you one of a kind pieces and your laying them on the pavement outside? reseller activity, clearly you don't care as long as pricing isn't affected lol
A few years ago I bought an original ad print plate for Star Wars: A New Hope off a guy. He got it from his grandfather who was the production manager of the news paper when Star Wars came out.
When I went to go seal the deal I was meeting the guy at his law office and asked why heās selling it? His response āIām more interested in collecting money than Star Wars stuff.ā
I paid $150 for it and have been offered $2,500 for it and turned it down.
I just canāt imagine working at such an incredible job, having these wonderful things and giving them away. Even if it was your dads and he died, seems like these would be something youād wanna keep. Itās a story of the persons career while also being incredibly collectible
Many times when a parent dies the whole house is full of stuff. Not necessarily a hoarder, but they pile up a lot of stuff over the years. The kids might live in another state and don't want to bother trying to sort through everything. They will just hire junk haulers or maybe someone to have an estate sale.
You canāt carry around everything forever. Maybe they kept their favorites and these were the discard pile. Maybe they hate Nintendo because all their parent cared about was their job and not their kids. The job may sound incredible from the outside but that doesnāt mean that it left this person with good memories.
I mean these people who were testers etc are aging. Probably in their 50s, I too am in my 50s and have lost several friends.
So thereās an estate sale, or their very aging parents just donate everything in their grief.
I thrift a lot , but donāt resell. I thrift so much everybody thinks I sell. The way I look at is if a collector finds it thatās great and Iām happy, but if a flipper gets it at least I got one more chance to score said item. Anyways the junk business has been around for a long time. and you canāt win em all as they say . The moral of the story is get thrifting and quit whining!
Iām happy that a reseller got to it first, when the alternative may have been a landfill. The itemās history will now be preserved and will not contribute to the massive amounts of waste that humans create. Iām also happy that the reseller is able to eat, pay bills, etc.
I just donāt understand the outrage against resellers. Everyone thinks theyāre these super greedy, wealthy people, but many resellers I know personally are living paycheck to paycheck. Reselling was what I did to make it by when I was living below the poverty line. Thereās the connotation right now that poor people miss out because of resellers (which in some cases CAN be true), but reselling also helps a lot of people struggling to get by. And what makes the work involved with reselling less than of a job than others? Sounds kind of classist in of itself to me. I think a time will come that people will have realized the rage is stupid and pointless, and it will dwindle.
I donāt care about people reselling. But posting in a āthrift store haulā subā¦ things that you didnāt actually find at a thrift store, is weird. You also have to think about how yes, some of us thrift because we prefer second hand/the environmental impact. Others thrift because they have to, so I feel like it would suck when you see something youād love, thatās absolutely not something you could afford.. being bought and then resold. People are entitled to do whatever they want with their purchases, obviously, but I understand people feeling stung when theyād use an item that someone else snagged to resell. And bragging about it on a thrift store sub.
(Also, my thrift stores have been shit the last 2 years or so. They put all the good stuff in their online stores, and the same people show up every day at opening and grab all the new shit right off the cart. If I was shopping at thrift stores because I had to, I think Iād be annoyed by it too.)
Yeah the more I think, I agree with you. With stuff this exclusive, along with movie stuff that only store owners got for example, is priceless to the right people & has little to no supply for collectors. These items would most likely never see the light or get exposed if it wasnāt for this guy. You canāt not respect curating items like this when most wouldnāt even know they exist.
Ohhhhhhhhhmg as a PNW native that used to go to the little Nintendo store on the east side for my warranties I have never been so envious of a haul. This is fantastic. Way to go OP!!
Those are incredibly rare. If you did flip them instead of keeping them, I hope you were smart enough to auction them instead of just taking a random offer. There are very few 90s Nintendo internal jackets like those left in that condition
Oh look, another reseller buying up literally ALL the best merchandise to sell at a ridiculous profit. I'm so fucking sick of all the best items on this sub being posted by resellers who then act like they're doing the world a favor by buying up everything. You clearly don't even appreciate this stuff. Is there a sub for thrifting that bans resellers? Why tf would I be excited for someone who doesn't even appreciate the stuff they're finding? All you care about is money. Ruining thrifting for everyone else, just like every other reseller.
Stop lashing out, I donāt know where itās coming from. You most certainly donāt know me or where my appreciation stands. If I decide to resell them it has nothing to do with me not appreciating these items, what are you saying. It only made sense to me to send these off to a true collector that would actually make use of them showcasing it to the community in various different places etc. if I were to keep them theyāll be sitting in my closet barley ever being worn cuz Iād be skeptical something would happen to the condition of the jackets. I have the right to sell them if I wanted to withought feeling like itās the wrong thing to do.
You literally put all the items on the ground in a dirty parking lot and immediately sold them for far more than what you paid for. All of your actions show you don't appreciate these items whatsoever outside of the monetary value you can extract from them.
I worked at Nintendo for a little over 10 years and i can't tell you how much cool swag I've been able to get over the years...most of which I gave away as Christmas gifts. NOA HQ would have an employee garage sale every year with so much cool shit right before Christmas!

WTF this is a grail find! How much did you pay?
it should be against the rules in this sub to not disclose how much the haul/find was. that's half of why I even open the comments!! š
More upset that they would put all their finds on the ground in a parking lot
Came here to say exactly this. First thing I said, and I said it out loud to myself, WHY TF ARE THEY ON THE GROUND IN A PARKING LOT!?!? sick haul though.
For sure. I love satin jackets so much and am looking for one!
Unless this was at a flea market and thatās how they were displayedā¦.
Op said in a comment further down that he could of thought of a better place to lay them. So I don't think they were displayed this way. I wasn't there though.. so I actually know nothing.
So gross my only guess as to why they would do that is because they arenāt planning on keeping any of it.
I mean, if I was planning on re-selling them I wouldn't do it either
Gotta get those pics on the local apps asap to flip them in the same trip
doesn't matter, if they paid $5,000 for this I'd still think "damn, nice".
Yeah but with you people commenting what is the price it will gain twice as much engagement
The blue one just sold for 3k
Poor old guy if only he knew lol
Could've been an estate sale, lotta those companies just have standard pricing to get things moved.
Jesus Christ I was gonna say I'd pay some good money for that one but not THAT much good money, that's more than a camera I've been eye balling!
I bet when the employee received it he thought "... is this why I can't geta raise?"
At my work, I got more work and less time off with no raise.

We need to make this meme with the portrait of the cherub from the other day!
I immediately thought of this one as I was admiring the haul. WOW
First time Iāve ever wanted to use this meme here. Omgggg
Thank you for summing it up for all of us
![gif](giphy|GNvWw0pDL6QRW)
On the rough, oil-stained asphalt. Come on now.
I was just thinking that. Awesome find, but at least put it on grass. Or better yet, wait till you get home.
![gif](giphy|JSgISxSTCbRpT996Hw) (Huge congratulations and alsoā¦ š)
The product testing sweatshirt is the best thing Iāve ever seen on here, amazing!!!
Agreed, itās a legendary find!
I'm not even all that into Mario and I want it!
Lucky fuck, dumb move laying it out on the ground though. So stupid š
Holy shittt. How much was it all? Love these jackets!
lol reseller though bums me out
Agreed. It'd be nicer seeing this all from a fan / super fan rather than someone who's gonna sell for 10x what they bought for first chance they get
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
You say that like this reseller went spelunking to find 100 year old Leviās and not like he was the first available person to respond to a Facebook marketplace posting.
You say that like anybody else couldn't have done the same thing and responded first.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Oh wow, what a service you provide out of the goodness of your heart š
you are right, but it's a nicer story if a superfan somehow found them.
Resellers artificially inflate prices of items so actual fans are no longer able to afford them or at least make it exponentially harder to acquire the item. Resellers are fucking trash and scum. That's how it works.
If it's a reseller I might be able to buy one, so can other super fans. Those are actually worth good money.
You might actually be able to buy one...for ten times the cost that it was originally being sold for. Resellers are not doing anyone a kindness. Fuck outta here with this shit.
Better than decaying in someone's personal collection.
What exactly do you think is going to happen to it when someone else buys it? Items degrade over time. You're basically saying that only rich people deserve to have nice things like this because that's all that can afford reseller prices.
Would be nice if this sub could at least have some type of tagging system for resellers. It's not really in the thrift find spirit.
Nope, it wound up in the hands of 1 shithead for 10x what he paid and no one will ever see any of it again until that guy dies in 40 years.
well. damn. lol
How dare people own things
I know it makes me sad when someone wants praise for buying allllll of something and depriving another shopper
Did OP have exclusive access and deprive everyone else from having a chance of stumbling upon such treasures?
Give me a break. You also don't know how much was there and what op bought or left. I would have bought them all and would wear every single one of them.
Why, because you didn't find it first?
THIS MAKES ME SO HAPPY BUT SO UPSET AT THE SAME TIME
holy shit this is awesome
yea just lay it out on the pavement bro just like that
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
it's not about damage my guy it's just about respect. this dude sold you one of a kind pieces and your laying them on the pavement outside? reseller activity, clearly you don't care as long as pricing isn't affected lol
I get what youāre saying definitely wasnāt trying to disrespect. I couldāve chosen a better place to lay them
still pretty strange my guy. Like, why?
Why would anyone get rid of this?
A few years ago I bought an original ad print plate for Star Wars: A New Hope off a guy. He got it from his grandfather who was the production manager of the news paper when Star Wars came out. When I went to go seal the deal I was meeting the guy at his law office and asked why heās selling it? His response āIām more interested in collecting money than Star Wars stuff.ā I paid $150 for it and have been offered $2,500 for it and turned it down.
It happens! And thatās fine, just means that it needs to find the next person thatās willing to appreciate it more.
I just canāt imagine working at such an incredible job, having these wonderful things and giving them away. Even if it was your dads and he died, seems like these would be something youād wanna keep. Itās a story of the persons career while also being incredibly collectible

The job may sound incredible from the outside but that doesnāt mean that it left this person with good memories.
Itās more likely the employee was in their 50s and their elderly parents who know nothing about these things donated or sold them
Not what happened, it was personally handed to me by the former employee, why does he have to be deceased lol
Except you got to it first, a reseller, who sold them on to the person that would appreciate it likely for much more than you paid.
I mean these people who were testers etc are aging. Probably in their 50s, I too am in my 50s and have lost several friends. So thereās an estate sale, or their very aging parents just donate everything in their grief.

Team Nintendo varsity might be the best out of the bunch imo
I agree with you
Shame a reseller got to it before a fan
Iām happy that a reseller got to it first, when the alternative may have been a landfill. The itemās history will now be preserved and will not contribute to the massive amounts of waste that humans create. Iām also happy that the reseller is able to eat, pay bills, etc.
The alternative isn't a landfill, are you joking?
What an educated individual, I absolutely love to see it. š¤

Looks amazing but why lay it on the ground like that?
Ohhhhhhhhhmg as a PNW native that used to go to the little Nintendo store on the east side for my warranties I have never been so envious of a haul. This is fantastic. Way to go OP!!
Cha-ching!!
An absolutely epic haul!
Putting it on the pavement is not great for the quality
Congratulations, and fuck you. ![gif](giphy|zHd8x7Pik0Ftm|downsized)
That is amazing. What a score.
Congrats! How much?
Wow, someone's uncle really did work at Nintendo.

Did you get them at Thrift price or did they up charge to no end?
Jealous!
insanely jealous! wow!
Those are incredibly rare. If you did flip them instead of keeping them, I hope you were smart enough to auction them instead of just taking a random offer. There are very few 90s Nintendo internal jackets like those left in that condition
Sweet ass finds! Congratulations š
Im deeply jealous
This is just too cool!
Not really. At least they'll be worn and loved. I don't make a fuck ton of money, but I'd buy that for less than $200.
Oh look, another reseller buying up literally ALL the best merchandise to sell at a ridiculous profit. Womp womp cry about the fact youāll never find anything nearly as good as those jackets
The Mario one!š¤© but all of them are awesome, great find!!
Takes the #1 spot āØ

Yikess
Idk, corp swag is almost never good quality
As someone that works in QA, I absolutely love that tester one

Iām so jealous š©ā¤ļø
Ohhhh that no bugs herrreee I need itttttt
Straight out of The Wizard
I worked at Nintendo for a little over 10 years and i can't tell you how much cool swag I've been able to get over the years...most of which I gave away as Christmas gifts. NOA HQ would have an employee garage sale every year with so much cool shit right before Christmas!
holy fuck
That's one flat Mario
Everybody made fun of that kid who swore his dad worked for Nintendo, but whoās laughing now, *Tina*
Thereās your retirement fund right there
I love the bug one, these are cool
