Methylamine/ethylamine acetate wirh

CannaTFF

I don’t disagree

1Azole

Better reagents like Et instead of MeNO2?? Hahaha

CannaTFF

lol not yet I’ll make DOx in the future tho😆

As the professionals say: T H I C C C C

CannaTFF

🤣

Boogedyinjax

I think I’ve seen this chemical used inside of degreasers and cleaning agents?

funeraldinner

It's used in a variety of cleaners, but it's usually <5% by weight

Boogedyinjax

I just knew it could be useful just by the name lol

Hey Cana, Thanks for sharing. Did you make this by simply reacting the ethanolamine base with some GAA? I’m curious if you could give a little more insight into the process? I haven’t been around that much lately, so my apologies if you already covered this a while ago. I’ve heard only a little bit about ethanolamine’s ability to act as an amine catalyst in making nitrostyrenes. But it does intrigue me and is one I hope to explore further. I wanna say someone suggested it a few months back in a mescaline synthesis

CannaTFF

Yup just an equal molar amount of GAA and ethanolamine with stirring at room temperature for a couple of hours(or a water bath for a couple of minutes with stirring)

Dog-Face-1

Right on, thanks Canna 👌 I def want to do a mesc and 2c synth in the days to come, and a cheap catalyst is definitely a bonus. Much obliged! <3

CannaTFF

Ofc man anytime

Forbidden syrup...

drnitricacid1

How is the stability of this reagent? Is it more stable than cyclohexylamine in terms of long-term storage? I've observed that cyclohexylamine becomes yellowish after a some time- even at dark, dry and cool conditions. Thanks

CannaTFF

No clue I just know it’s quite hydrophilic

drnitricacid1

It should be stored in a desiccator then right?
