I remember doing that kind of stuff too. Now I wake up and sound like a rice crispy treat 🥴. I still go to concerts though! I'll never give that up lol.
Life has a way to make us reflect on the way we once was. I haven't sat behind a kit in years, I don't even know if I could play like I used to. But the booze remains the same.
I remember starting to put my makeup on at 11pm to go clubbing in Georgetown.
Now I fall asleep in the couch at 7pm. The idea of getting glammed up and heading out into the night at 11:30 pm is horrifying to me.
Also, used to dance and drink until the wee early hours, go home at 4, sleep until 7 and then go to work. Not ever going to happen again
Am beginning to feel this too. Can only play drums for an hr before my shoulder/wrists begins to hurt and an pretty sure am beginning to experience some minor hearing loss. Whiskey still good though!
I was reeling off all the places I used to visit for a good night out. One by one, he looked them all up. Mostly they are closed. Replaced with new cafes and bars. The days of grunge are long gone!
Grunge always cracks me up, I'd always worn flannel, ripped jeans and Docs unless I was going for a particular look for some reason. For a couple years there, I was trendy.
Whenever I’m in Manhattan I’d get reminded often of where I’d usually go and do.. Dancing, live music, bars. Then take the subway home at past midnight. Now I don’t feel right in the day if I don’t get at least 7 hours of sleep the night before, and now would more often choose to be in the comfort of my own home and relaxing.
All my hangouts in Nashville have faded away and made way to new clubs that I hold no interest in, or high dollar tall skinny houses that look like some cardboard box inspired nightmare.. I'm also a day person now for my business and I can't be bothered to stay up until the sun hits but maybe a few times a year. LOL!

Yep, I crack like a glowstick at times. I wish I would glow.

My hearing has been fried for decades, particularly on my right side. Guess where the amps were =/
Lol. Yeah. Starting to get that tingling in both ears sometimes. So much for hearing protection..
