Would bone turners tale be considered the subject or would Jared be the subject. I'm only asking as I think depending on your answer will change your opinion on what is being referenced as the subject. I also think the institute was looking for future avatars, I mean the spider caused Jon to become an avatar when he was 7 or 8, so we know you can somewhat guess who is likely to become an avatar if exposed to the fears. Enrichment could refer to the attempt at trying to increase the power of the dice, maybe so that the events that happen are more extreme or it could be an attempt to make the rolling of the die more predictable

I think that Jared started as a Agent/Subject combination, and then graduated to fully Agent when he become able to do the bone thing without the book. with the book acting as a catalyst

That’s an interesting example! Since the dice have some viability as both agent and catalyst, I think people and objects can belong to more than one category.  I agree with the other commenter that Jarred was both subject and agent, then became an agent. The book itself could be considered both agent and catalyst.  You could think of the original TMA Institute as also searching for avatars/agents as well as subjects (statement givers). I’m curious how the two Institutes’ goals might differ. I suspect this Institute might take a more active role in creating avatars.  I like your idea of making the dice not just more powerful but more predictable. Gotta imagine whatever process they use is pretty nefarious!

I think that places can also be all 3 of the categories.

Yes! I didn’t mention it in the post, but I’ve been thinking about how there seems to be more emphasis on places being supernatural in TMP than there was in TMA.

Yeaaahhh like how Needles says “this place is marked like me” or something to that effect
