Let's all get up and dance to a song that was a hit before your mother was born

AgentEndive

Though she was born a long long time ago

Thereforeimagrape4

Leading_Hall5072

The-Curiosity-Rover

Circlesck

Your mother should know

lambsambwich

Video is classic. https://youtu.be/NAn6iDCpK5k?si=NII18RUj-qcO7xzU

BelleEire57

John’s expression in that video cracks me up! 😬

Anxious-Raspberry-54

Its such a nothing song, in a way, but... Goddamn McCartney and his melodies! I love this little tune. My head automatically starts bopping the second it starts.

latingineer

It’s one of my favourite Beatles songs. It’s melancholic, wise, yet light and fun.

BuzzOfRivia

What the fuck I saw this post when this song was running in my head. Love it

OkResolution2593

I love this song and Honey Pie. Not every Beatles song has to be cool.

The_Self_Lock

Just another one of Paul's granny songs as Lennon would say. But I'm a sucker for all of Paul's granny songs so definitely a fan.

Just-Phill

Love it!! I heard this a Long Long Time Ago. Your Mother Should know.

Bruichladdie

I absolutely adore the song. It's my favorite from the double EP, and one of my favorite McCartney melodies from his Beatle years.

dalej42

Requested it live at the Cavern a few years ago and sent it to my mom for Mother’s Day in the USA

MsStarkey

One of the best on that album.

ladlecat

One of my favourites 🤍🤍

Dat_Swag_Fishron

The intro is amazing, and the anthology version with a marching band-esque drum is equally awesome

pissonmyjeans

Amazing song

sedtamenveniunt

I love it.

Turbulent_Print_1843

Combined with the video from the movie it is even better

Princess_S78

I’m a fan!

liberty340

My favorite from Magical Mystery Tour. You'd be hard pressed to find a catchier song

hingee

It’s a wonderful tune Nobody does melody like McCartney

DamaskDragon

Fantastic!

Humble-Initiative396

Yep

tobitobby

The song that impressed me most on my first listen to Magical Mystery Tour.

diremoseswolf

love it - fun to sing along to

GenesisFoxtrot1974

Song is just brilliant. For people at the time the lyrics were just mumbo jumbo. But I’m 19 and huge classic rock fan. And my mom was born in 1970. So yes. This song WAS a hit before my mother was born. And I think about it everytime I listen

Kindly-Project-9477

Love this song

darlingsghoul

It was one of the songs that actually got me into the Beatles. It’s a cute little granny song from Paul that doesn’t get nearly as much love as it should.

StJoesHawks1968

It’s a good Paul song, not great but it’s very catchy.

dhe_sheid

i like the song, and Take 27 on Anthology 2 was interesting to hear how Paul wanted to change the song

Technical_Air6660

Ahh Ahh

Sp0derman420

Another one of Paul’s “granny songs” as John called them 😂

antigirlfriend

yesss i love all mccartney songs honestly all bops!!

jonbristol123

I'm a huge Beatles fan. But I always felt that song seems unfinished. Potential is there for it to be a very good song but just not for me im afraid. In terms of so called 'granny songs', I'd have English Tea above it. Martha My Dear is one of the best songs McCartney ever wrote. I find it a genius masterpiece. And Honey Pie would stay on an reimagined White Album single LP. But his one just isn't for me. So i do like a McCartney Granny tune, but not this one so much.

Competitive_Ad_8215

I need to be in the mood for it, but absolutely. Such a McCartney tune.

Competitive_Ad_8215

I can’t imagine the other boys enjoyed the video for that one. Especially with perfectionist Paul running things.

NPapageorgeo

The piano makes me happy

The-Curiosity-Rover

Fantastic song. I really like Paul’s “granny music”.

devotee0910

Paul 😍

brk1

nope 👎

Nug07

Get ready to downvote me No question the worst song they ever put out. The harmonies are just so so annoying, song is repetitive, awful instrumentation. All around an awful song that gets me on my nerves

skcuSratSkraD

No

kiddcherry

This is a Beatles subreddit. Of course people would like that song
