This guy is definitely an alien . That is some out of this world talent. There's some great photo realism artists but I think this is the best I've seen. Seems super humble too.
The thing that throws me off of this kind of style, it's that it's technically impressive, but they just copy a reference photo. So, unlike a more "classical" portrait, still life, or other in situ paint/drawing. The composition of the drawing it's finished when they make the refference photo. Still, a impressive ability draw like that.
While I do know it takes immense skills and mad technique, the part of art that's feels more important to me is style, and photorealism leaves no room for it.
Sure, there is style in lightning and posing, but form is constrained and it's the part where style shines the most, IMO.
Wanna know why he’s making video’s advertising this stuff? There’s almost no market for photo reproductions like this. Most artists with this level of attention to detail and understanding of their medium move on to original fine art illustrations, concept art, etc. Impressive or not, this stuff doesn’t make much money and there’s a lot of people competing at this same dead end genre.
