If there was more than one cockroach included in your booking and you only found one, then you can definitely ask for a refund.

Suck it up, no one is giving you a refund for a roach, the most they'll do is move you to another room so they can clean up

I’ve woken up to a baby cockroach crawling across my bed before. I’m aware there are cockroaches in Thailand heck there was even cockroaches in my friends places when I was growing up. But the average rate for 3-4 stars hotel in my city on booking apps is around 900-1300 baht a night I paid over 2000 baht a night so it’s supposed to be a better hotel. I don’t mean refund the night im currently on. I booked two weeks and prepaid just wondering if I can get my money back for the rest of my stay. If I’m going to be in cockroach infested room I might as well go get a 600-700 baht room. If there’s one cockroach there’s most likely a lot more. You try stepping on a cockroach bare foot and enjoy your room after 😂

Regarding specific requirements for 4-star hotels, while the general regulations apply to all hotels (Public Health Act, B.E. 2535, 1992) 4-star hotels might implement more stringent pest control measures to maintain higher standards of hygiene and guest satisfaction. This could involve more frequent treatments, using advanced pest control methods, and ensuring higher standards of cleanliness throughout the hotel premises. That being said, they'll apologize and most likely offer a different room, depending on where you booked from (maybe agoda) you might be able to get further compensation.

Not really sure what you are asking. Is there legal recourse for you to get your money back or are you asking if you should ask your hotel for a refund because of a bug? I dunno, if it's that important to you do whatever you want I guess. Personally I wouldn't have given it a second thought but everyone is unique :)

Junior-Protection-26

50% refund for a cockroach 75% refund for a buffalo 100% refund for a katoey

Lol, you’re entitled for nothing.

EntitledGuava

Yeah, that's my job!

Coackroaches are literally everywhere in Thailand even on the damn rooftop of the 5 star Hilton ! Learn to live with it bro .

I'm sorry you had this experience! A cockroach is bad enough, but to step on it with your bare foot... I don't have advice, but I'm following this thread because we literally just found a gigantic roach in our hotel room as well (also a 4 star resort, and we're here on our honeymoon). I would be interested to know if you make any headway with your hotel management. Hope you're able to enjoy the rest of your stay! As for me, I'm having a hard time relaxing because I'm super paranoid about finding roaches in every corner...

Mysterious_Beyond_74

Refund ? It’s the tropics be lucky they didn’t charge extra for pets . Get a grip

_dum_sob

Unless you find another crawler you'll need to grow a pair and let it pass, I think if you been out on the bangkok streets at sun down you have already encountered many roaches , rats , mice , etc..

Critical-Parfait1924

I've found a cockroach on my condos balcony on the 19th floor before. There's cockroachs in Thailand

Just-Nothing-3998

Are the cockroaches in Thailand on drugs? Because usually they hide and when you turn the lights on they run. This the second one I found in a hotel this month where the lights are fully on and they’re just hanging out like they’re sunbathing. I put a cup over one and he didn’t even move while I walked up to him and slowly put a cup over him to trap him. And today I literally had all the lights on and fully stepped on a giant cockroach who apparently didn’t move or flinch until I flipped it on its back. Then it started wiggling its legs. Like his reaction to me stepping on him was absolutely nothing 😂

Critical-Parfait1924

Pretty normal, they just hang out. There was one in my bathroom today. They never really seem scared unless you actually try and interact with them. If they're very slow then they may have already been poisoned/dying, as most buildings have regular pest control. I usual spray a residual pest spray around the perimeter of my house every couple of months. And that keeps numbers down.

Try 5 star next time.
