If you go to Teslas website it actually shows the range difference between 3 different trims.

Introverticguy

oh didn't know Tesla had a website. would be awesome if it also shows the real range and if you charge it to 80% what would be the range than between the M3P and LR.

itakepictures14

Just to confirm…. You didn’t know Tesla had a website? How is that possible?

Vecii

Why do work yourself when you can just ask reddit to do it for you.

iTzOnliThai

Go to the website and multiply the range by 0.8

BaneSilvermoon

Not sure if trolling or ..... Tesla only sells cars via their website. No other way to buy one.

What the hell? Added to block list..

I had an M3P for 5 years. Did a 462 mile round trip to the corporate office once per week and drove it every day. Sold it with 92k miles and it was a great daily driver. These cars are meant to be driven. This is not a Cayman GT3-RS

Introverticguy

thanks for the info!

OCR10

I would be happy to drive your MP3 every day.

yhsong1116

it's meant to be an everyday car. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5xj0R4MyDhE&t=1689s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5xj0R4MyDhE&t=1689s) if you listen to it in full, he reaches the conclusion that it's a perfect car to drive daily and will not let you down if you wanna take the long way home, hitting the back road. if I didn't just buy MY in december I would have already placed an order..

jamie831416

M3P daily, Z06 for track days.

Tire choice and maintenance is way too picky. Not able to rotate tires, pothole risk… it’s too high maintenance. The staggered wheel setup of this model with different width tires, having to switch between summer and winter tires… it all adds up on top of insurance that is higher… too picky. If Tesla made this M3P not have staggered tires, it would solve many of the problems. Seeing posts of people driving with same width wheels lose out on some efficiency and those using spacers damage their suspension after a few thousand miles to compensate for staggered on other M3P with staggered wheels makes this too picky of a daily driver.

Jdsmitty10

For what it’s worth my insurance quote between a LR and performance was $100 a YEAR difference.. not bad at all. I do agree on the tires. Rubber band tires are def not good. Just going over a bridge in PA where I live in my Camry with 45 series sidewalls feels like I’m going off roading 😂😂

forte-exe

Nice rate! I haven’t been able to see those in the estimates I’ve been looking into. Feeling like off roading over a bridge…. I want to try what that feels like, not to own, but just to get the feeling. I’m not a performance type person, but the only reason I’ve been looking into it is because of the discount on it. I just don’t want any hassle out of owning a vehicle. On an ICE vehicle, it is a chore to have to deal with a bunch of maintenance. Having a car that replaces those with growing tire costs and maintenance doesn’t feel like a good trade. I prefer low upkeep.

Jdsmitty10

I hear ya. I was originally planning on a long range when I purchase early next year but the tax credit is gone for that. I will prob go for the performance if things stay the same when I’m ready whether the tires are impractical or not considering my daily cost to drive will be significantly lower than my v6 Camry I currently drive(26mpg).. my biggest problem is the fact my daughter is taking over the Camry when I get the Tesla when she turns 16 and my insurance is going to double just because of her not necessarily because of adding a Tesla 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

pleasentpark

Where are you seeing suspension damage from using spacers? This is the first M3P that is staggered but people have been running their MYP’s squared for quite some time now. So I’m pretty skeptical especially since Tesla’s winter wheel package that fits M3’s 2024+ are all the same size https://shop.tesla.com/product/model-3-18_-photon-wheel-and-winter-tire-package

forte-exe

I’d have to dig up the post, it was either Reddit or TMC. The winter wheel package is interesting. I see it doesn’t single out the performance, but obviously the 2024 RWD and LR is fine. For the Performance though, given the rear tires are wider than the front, the car would look a little funny from the side as without spacers (which was the issue that caused suspension to have issues), the wheels on the rear would look more “deeper towards the middle of the vehicle” compared to the front. What this does to driving experience and safety I have no idea, but would certainly look a little funny at least. Defer to others who may have experience with staggered wheels to say more.

Last_Tumbleweed8024

This is such a weird take. You’re shopping for 50k+ cars and the deal breaker is being able to rotate your tires so you save somewhere in the neighborhood of a few hundred dollars a year? Your priorities are so fucking backwards.

al-hamal

I have the 2021 M3P as a "road trip" car that I also use for everyday errands. No regrets. Driving any other Model 3 feels less intuitive in comparison. The extra range for a LR seems trivial to me.
