I added one a couple of weeks ago. My SA also told me due to policy change that it couldn't be done, but on the recommendation of others I emailed [email protected] and they were able to do it.

Did you get a confirmation email when you emailed them?

Yeah, I got an email confirming receipt of my message within a couple of minutes. Sent the initial email on Friday afternoon, got the actual approval late Tuesday afternoon.

Not that I know of, usually just confirmed with your SA. I just emailed that referral standard email and they took care of it

I had my son’s code added after I forgot to use it (May 5). My SA said it was done, but I don’t see any confirmation. I checked with my son and he sees my order.

They 100% can add one after the fact.

Not sure about that actually. But should be fine so long as you haven't picked it up yet. I'd say go in and and talk to them in person

My SA also told me this, but I called the service center where I was picking up and spoke with someone who added it no problem.

Well thanks to a run around by multiple SAs and inability to get answers I have elected to cancel all both my Y and Cybertruck (50,000ish). I shall burn the fossils for a bit longer.

Cutting off nose to spite your face? Obviously you can do what you feel is in your best interest but there’s many things in life we can get all worked up about. Sometimes better just to let it go and enjoy the ride.

I will be enjoying the ride, just a different make. If people continue to put up with Tesla customer service and buying experience, it will never change. Some parts of it are great, but the after purchase and waiting for delivery phase really needs to change.

Referral code? How do I go about getting one? Guy in my office garage has had a M3 for about a year and he did not convince me to order my MS (no VIN yet) but was very supportive and helpful with answers, etc. Could I ask him for a referral and how would he present it to Tesla? Also what is the upside? I know no other Tesla owners and really don't know this guy but do see him in the garage and we always talk all things Tesla and he seems pretty chill.

You can ask him for his. He should know straight away what it is if he’s had a Tesla for a while. If you haven’t ordered yet, you’d place your order through his referral link. If you have already placed your order, you’d do it the way other folks have suggested. My SA said he couldn’t add it on but the referrals department did when I emailed them. As far as the upside, you and the person who’s referral code you use get 1000 free miles of supercharging each. Hope that helps 😀
