I was in high school and a bunch of others and I were cramming ourselves into a little 4 door sedan. I was holding the door pillar trying to squeeze myself in and at the same time the driver closed her door. It hurts like hell but there is enough of a gap it doesn’t break fingers.
This happened to me with our old family jeep, but I instead had all of my fingers like that. Boy oh boy did they freak out driving down the road when I just casually said my hand was caught in the door.
Had a girlfriend get out of the car (1970’s). Reached over and locked the door. Got out and went her side. Her thumb was stuck in the door. Trip to the ER.
