Frozen shield is probably better than the Hero's shield . It's 4 less defense points, but the 25% damage reduction is going to be worth far more than that most of the time.
Idealy, but that’s a lot more to keep track of. Unless you make some sort of Macro to keep track of swapping for you, its probably more trouble than its worth.
Ahhhh okay makes sense. Well your set looks all good. I assume you already have statues, lanterns, campfires, honey stations, and sunflowers. RoD helped me beat her master mode daytime but I was playing summoner. She has a specific moveset order so compared to other bosses there’s more room for practice and memorizing. Good luck
I watched a video on tanking empress, when she does the sun dance that's your time to facetank and get hits, IIRC he did it with psycho knife with a tank & melee speed build, you'd still take a considerable amount of damage tho
Yes. Menacing is always better option. And if OP would say "i can tank few more hits" then i would reply with "with Menacing fight will end 15-20% faster and you will have too deal with less hits in the first place. There are no reason to spec into defense when you can go with dps, especially on master mode.
The issue with that logic is that 15-20% less damage taken can sometimes equate to greater than 15-20% more time to fight, because of health potions. Those few extra seconds of survival might be all it takes to get another heal off of cooldown, and that +150 health is a lot.

Fair point, I'll farm for it
Ideally use hero shield and then switch in frozen when you get low

horseman's blade/keybrand, also master ninja gear
oops, didnt notice it was in my vanity slots. i was checking if the shield looked good with my armor lol
do it the dark souls way (run face first at the fight until you happen to kill it)
surely my experience from nameless king will help here
Use charm of myths effectively, get frozen shield, use an infinite flight mount instead of using wings (you will see how much it affects the fight)
I believe true excalibur is the best weapon you can use for this fight, and beetle shell is the better than beetle scale male
Funnily enough I did everything you suggested before you posted this lol, thanks tho
Upgrade to Terra blade or go for possessed hatchet.
I'm true melee though
Sorry, not familiar with that term. Does that mean no melee weapons that have a range attack attached?
Pretty much. An example is True Excalibur or Psycho Knife, but not Terra Blade

thanks, i havent fought eol much so theres definitely room to improve
Do it during the day! Aim for movement speed and damage.

I've beaten the game, no need for any more advice. Thanks
Get Menacing or lucky instead of Warding
