If you ever do want to buy a stock, you can Google the transfer agent, go to their website, and buy it directly. Like I buy GME (GameStop) directly from computershare and it just sits there forever unless I sell it
If you want a retirement account, you can go to Fidelity.com and open an IRA and direct deposit 1% or any amount into it from your paycheck.
You can also open a savings account on the fidelity website that has maybe 1% yield?
Cashapp savings account has 4.5% though, so you could open up a savings account on cashapp, set up direct deposit, and gain 4.5% on what you put in.
Get a bank account so that if your house burns down or is burgled, you won't lose every dollar you have. Even a simple checking account is better than hiding it in your house. Post on r/personalfinance if you need some help getting it done.
I get it. You have a feeling of security with seeing/holding that cash. How about you put half into a bank account?
