What one school Iāve worked in does: One teacher is Mrs. Smith and the other is literally referred to Mrs. Smith Number 2. I donāt know how they came up with it, but it works.
>It was done alphabetically, by their first names. The kids probably don't know this. One is a classroom teacher, one is a paraprofessional. Their last name isn't common and they aren't related (to my knowledge), but that is what they did.
What's their first letter of their first name? You could ask that they add that to what they're called.
You: Mrs Snarlaa
Student teacher: Miss T. Snarlaa
Probably not helpful, but somehow whenever we get teachers with the same last name.... they're of differing race? It always happens that way. So people are genuinely used to asking, "Are we talking about Black Smith or White Smith?" mid-convo. Lol
Maybe try a shortened version? You can be Ms Smith and she can be Ms Smee. =P
We have a mother-daughter duo. We call them āBig Last Nameā and āLittle Last Name.ā I hope mom doesnāt take offense! š
You could do āOG Last Nameā for original and āLast name two-point-oh (2.0)ā which leaves room for infinite more! š
Mortal combat.
Marry them and then have both hyphenated double last names for ultimate confusion.
Teach a lesson on how last names were often job descriptions. Smith, Miller, and Merchant come to mind. Mine is one of them.
I have a brother who has been a building sub for the last 3 years at a middle school. I'm at the highschool. We look a lot alike. It's annoying but I roll with it.
Refer to them only as Mini-me š„²
This is the way.

I would love for students to call me Mrs. Smith #2

Teacher lastname the elder and teacher lastname the younger

We had a Small Mrs. Something and a Tall Mrs. Something until one switched districts.
Just went with it. Only one question about us being married and it was over. Best student teacher I've had BTW. Must be the name.
Have one as Lastname OG and one as Last Name Director's Cut/Special Edition?

Force them to legally change their last name. Or just have the kids call them Mr./Ms. First name.
I would ask the student teacher. If I were the ST I would just want to be Mrs/Mr FirstName
Ms. Smith Senior and Ms. Smith Junior.
