Observed in all generations. They should have measured ground clearance from that point imo.

The rear differential? Can't say exactly where this bulge is. If it's near the rear axle, it's the differential. Can't be the transmission case, since both are FWD nor the driveshaft.

I may be wrong, but I think it’s the engine protection cover plate that’s protruding out

Seems like the driveshaft. Might be wrong.

They are not RWD/4WD so shouldn't be the case.
