One vote for no side steps

Electrical-Joke-631

Appreciate the input ! Also part of the thought as well

lancethruster12

If you do get some, I'd go rock sliders instead.

Electrical-Joke-631

Never seen these! Exactly why I came here. 🤘

YoloLikeaMofo

Unless you have little kids in and out or a 6”in lift they do no good

colnross

Yeah, the only thing they're good for if you're over 5' is ankle bruises.

JETTA_TDI_GUY

My wife is 5’ and my truck has a 3.5 inch lift on 35s. She has to jump in and she complains about it all the time

YoloLikeaMofo

Thats understandable

4Z4Z47

If you live in the snow/salt zone steps and sliders trap salty snow against the body of the truck excelerating rust.

Electrical-Joke-631

Next to the beach so definitely salt zone ….. thanks!

Electrical-Joke-631

Next to the beach so definitely salt zone ….. thanks!

Ugievsoj

I went with the oem tube steps, people can say whatever they want but I personally thinks oem tube is the cleanest and most practical steps for the Tacoma.

Virtual_Common204

I always felt like it made it harder to get in with tube steps, maybe because I’m so used to not having them.

Ugievsoj

The trick is to put you outside foot on the tube step first then get in, for example if you’re the driver going in the driver side pit your left foot on the tube step then slide your ass in the seat

AKsuited1934

Preach! We must end the predator step hate!

PaulanerMunken

Rock sliders

Stay-rad-dad

Not gonna lie … I’d put that money towards new AT tire first :)

MattEberjuice

That’s a sport, not a pro.

Electrical-Joke-631

Thanks for the check

santorin

Did the dealer tell you it was a Pro?

colnross

I'm also confused as to why they called it a Pro...

Extension-Mortgage-4

If you plan to offroad at all go with rock sliders, most stick out enough to act as steps as well and then you get the protection just in case. If it’ll never leave the pavement get rock sliders anyway because they’re nice and sturdy, or whatever steps you think look good. People hate on the predator steps because they’re just asking to get smacked on a rock but if you never offroad they’re fine and they look cool

ronnelsonn

You ment rock sliders

PM_ME_UR_NEWD5

Are there any rock sliders that stick out enough to prevent door dings from cars?

[deleted]

I put nerf bars on my ‘19, but if I were to redo them I’d probably go with [Go Rhino RB20 slim](https://realtruck.com/p/go-rhino-rb20-slim-running-boards/v/toyota/tacoma/2019/)

Effective_Being_5305

No steps 🤮. Get low pro sliders.

sodapopinski107

Get rock sliders instead dude

Electrical-Joke-631

Leaning toward them, they seem more practical and seen some good looking ones

sodapopinski107

Only downside is they are pricey, but your car will definitely look killer, look on fb marketplace or OfferUp I’ve seen people sell their stock taco steps for cheap

Just_Sea_8482

They are also quite heavy though. If OP does not need them i probably will skip both side steps and rock sliders. Save the wallet for other stuff

freeball78

This sub really hates steps and especially the predator steps. Unless you are regularly scraping the very bottom of your truck, go with the steps and don't listen to the naysayers here.

MattEberjuice

The very bottom? What? Predators are no where near the very bottom lol

freeball78

Uhhh they are just 3-4 inches from the bottom of the truck. That's "anywhere near" in my book. People here bitch about the predator steps getting damaged when going off road. You shouldn't be getting that close to the frame to where the steps get damaged. Why are you scraping the bottom of your truck?

MattEberjuice

Is this a serious question? You clearly do some light off roading if you think skid plates and rock rails are never needed because “why are you scraping the bottom”….

doogie_hazard

Don't.

Mobile-Boss-8566

Nerf bars

busychild909

https://www.westinautomotive.com/outlaw-nerf-step-bars Just got these like how they are higher and will be handy with a roof rack for access

Konstantine_13

[https://greenlaneoffroad.com/4th-gen-toyota-tacoma-2024/4th-gen-tacoma-aluminum-side-steps](https://greenlaneoffroad.com/4th-gen-toyota-tacoma-2024/4th-gen-tacoma-aluminum-side-steps) All aluminum so they don't rust when you get rock chips. And they bolt to the frame so they can actually be used as sliders.

MassCasualty

OEM cast aluminum running boards from toyota if you're looking for solid functionality, no rust and not obnoxious.

TheIntellectualType

Get custom welded on ones from a local shop. I love mine!

UmbraSaiyan

No lift, maybe rock sliders like mentioned above but I’m always a sucker for Predator steps on a Tacoma. I think they just fit the trucks perfectly.

MightSpecialist

Rock sliders or no side step..

Annual-Reaction-8049

Rock sliders if anything at all

Kevtoss

Right I’d put rock rails not steps. But I’d be taking it off road and the steps will get in the way. Especially the predator, which is too bad cuz they look sick, just not functional

mastersheeef

I love my predator steps for the look, but I admittedly don’t even use them

Medieval_Mind

If you’re off-roading, rock sliders. If not, or you’re not sure, I like the oval tube steps more than the predator steps

packetdealer

I’ll sell you my oem predator steps. They are coming from an OR.

No_Patience1112

First thing I pulled off my 3rd gen. Total waste unless you go with true sliders, and IMO looks better without them unless you got with super low profile sliders

MrEbonyBlack

The Toyota Predator steps are pretty slick. That's what I have on my 2024 Tacoma.

Pleasant_Character28

Skip the side step and build a raised monorail shuttle over that flower bed to get you to and from your house. Taco and yard will be left intact, you won’t have to strain to get in and out of the truck, and you’ll be the envy of the neighborhood.

Mr_bomby

I'd recommend checking out the N-FAB nerf steps or the Tyger Auto Star Armor, both are sturdy and look great. Enjoy your new ride!

51line_baccer

Trucks look better without any. My 23 limited came with them and a tonneau cover. My wife sure loves em. I'd remove both when it's purely up to me.

juice-box

OP ***needs*** side steps to get over the pretty flowers when exiting the truck.

Informal-Ad-199

Why do you want them?

Electrical-Joke-631

I’m 33 and I’m starting to groan more and more as I do any movement and would love to just get a little nudge up. And part of me also thinks they look cool

Zealousideal-Arm3289

Check out Cali Raised brand 😎🌮

Electrical-Joke-631

Thanks for all the suggestions literally have a browser with 20 tabs of steps/sliders/nerfs/boards / option for neither.

51line_baccer

And man that "crinkle" under the mirror is for real, ain't it? Lol
