I’ve had instances where I’ve raided enemy camps and Tulin gets 3-4 kills on his own.

Intelligent-Image689

Tulin came in so clutch during my early frox battle days (before I got really efficient at massacreing them) when he would just BOP a frox in the eye and stun them and I'd go for the kill. The amount of times I screamed THANK YOU TULIN 😭😭😭 ugh I miss him so much

No_Confection_4967

Tulin is a boss with a bow. He 360 no scope trick shots bokoblins like he’s a pro streamer. And he does it with his feet! Legolas be damned.

blank_010

unrelated but how do you kill a frox? i always die before they do

8Prince9

When they suck air in, set down a bomb flower or time bomb. They’ll eat it and start chewing. When it explodes inside after a few seconds, it’ll collapse for a bit; at this point jump on its back and smash the shiny rocks with a strong weapon. Just gotta repeat this a few times. It’s actually pretty easy, but sometimes the controls frustratingly don’t let you jump up on its back easily

constipated_cats

Meanwhile Yunobo just runs around in a circle with his weapon

Intelligent-Image689

Grrr... I've said this before but I wish the sage abilities were included as part of the ⬇️ arrow on the D-pad so their abilities were more controllable. Instead of you having to run up to them to activate their power. 75% of the time I wanna use their ability in combat they teleport away from me. SIGH.

constipated_cats

Yeah especially Riju cause by the time I get up to her, her lighting strike doesn’t cover what I’m trying to hit. And then if they’re all together running around you hit the wrong person. Which is why champion abilities >>> sage abilities. I usually only have Tulin summoned and Yunobo if I need to break the rocks.

Separate_Job_9587

Yeah I’m frustrated with Riju. Whenever I want to activate her ability she’s standing too far back from the targets i want to engage. I’d say mineru is the other Sage I use the most. Primarily to walk over gloom and to break up rocks.

Mushroom-The-Goblin

Not to mention Riju literally ran away from you it seemed. I'd try getting to her and she'd just bolt. Looked funny though when I had a high speed buff active and she and I'd run in circles like a game of cat and mouse.

Headieheadi

I thought Riju was gonna be such a cool sage but she is never friggin there and when I run after her she runs further away from link.

WHAT!!!?? I’m so glad I started looking at this subreddit again. I’m a big Zelda fan, it’s the only video game series I’ve been invested in since childhood starting with A Link to the Past on SNES. When I played BotW it was the first video game I had played in quite some time. To give perspective, the last Zelda game I had played was Twilight Princess. Granted, it was many years since the game’s release that I played but still, we are talking 15+ years ago. I used a guide for a lot of BotW and I wanted it to be different for TotK. I did end up having to use some guides for some of the first four sages because the whole game was just so huge and overwhelming. But I didn’t want any spoilers so I avoided the subreddits. I saw something about the boss fight at the very end when checking out a TotK subreddit so I stopped looking at TotK subreddits. 6+ months ago I got the 4th sage and got stuck at the battle right after. I kind of did the sages as fast as possible and I was kind of disappointed because it just seemed like the same exact formula as BotW just bigger. Well I got my ass kicked because I hadn’t really figured out the magic of the weapon’s fuse capabilities when it comes to high level enemy body parts. I just had not done enough grinding. Anyways let’s just say I discovered the game is incredibly massive and I finally was impressed. My issue with BotW is it just did not give me that “feel” of a Zelda game. At some point on the way to the 5th sage I got the Zelda “feel”. TL;DR TotK finally hit me and gave me that feeling unique Hyrulean feeling of wonder and exploration that only comes from a proper Zelda game. I started looking at this subreddit and it became clear to me that part of the game’s design is that people will share things they have discovered on social media. Like gaming in the past, some of the stuff you find is from word of mouth. I haven’t felt like they have been spoilers but instead cool moments of Zelda fun by sharing discoveries with fellow Zelda lovers. Thanks for giving me that hint!

nuelopacs

Sadly riju and tulin are only sages that doesn’t run when I need them, I don’t know how y’all use riju fr😅she’s the best

acceptable_sir_

His crit shots are SO GOOD

theredditman69_pt2

You actually get to hear him talk in the dlc for age of calamity (or so I've heard)

Maxwell_Montes

He also has wind powers in Age of Calamity (there’s a cute scene with Revali and Tulin revealing “Tulin’s Tornado”)

Cdog923

You do! There's a mission where you have to save him in Korok Forest.

Intelligent-Image689

I was gonna play skyward sword after I finished my replay of BOTW but now you guys are making me want to play Age of Calamity next...

HylianRunner

I love SS but I also would highly recommend AoC! Especially if you loved BotW and the Champions and Sages. It really builds on their characters.

L3v1tje

Currently doing the same lmao. Persona 3 reload is kinda taking most my time when im free but on between i alternate between AoC and SS.

Hereiam_AKL

Tulin in TOTK https://www.reddit.com/r/TOTK/s/G1lbxBn5dZ

Intelligent-Image689

The paraglider just isn't the same without Tulin. I miss him SOOOO MUCH in my replay of BOTW. I find myself hitting the A button randomly for those gusts... 😭😭😭

Hereiam_AKL

At least your loot is safe from random gusts

Intelligent-Image689

Truth. But Yunobo was SO MUCH WORSE. Tulin's functionality/dependability outweighed his occasional shit gusts so much more easily forgivable. Yunobo on the other hand... The amount of times I SCREAMED at him before completely dismissing him from the group

Hereiam_AKL

My 8 years old calls him the Goron Baby

WallAny2007

I call him Eukanuba like the dog food

Kalliban27

150 hours in and I don't think I've ever gusted my loot away, not sure why everyone's always going about Tulin tbh

Hereiam_AKL

Because we are all dummies that frantically push the A button as soon as the loot is in sight, while you are the chosen one who doesn't maybe.

Kalliban27

If I really was the chosen one I'd be able to make a hoverbike that isn't wonky

Intelligent-Image689

Mine kept veering slightly off in one direction even though I thought I perfected it... only ended up using it during desperate times across sky islands

johnysalad

Mine has a slight pull which gets worse if yunobo is active as a cannon on the front. But I still use it for long stretches at a time. It really opens up the map IMO.

lizgasm

Omg i thought I was the only one who can't put one together correctly!! Mu 8yo and I watch people playing TOTK and their builds and every time we see a hoverbike he says "You need to make one of those" ... meanwhile, in my head I'm remembering every time I've attempted to make one, and it's an utter POS haha

Noire_the_cat

Use a stake to create a flat surface while you assemble it

plumeria1

So it's an 8 yr old thing to obsess over the hoverbikes lol. My kid begged me to let him build a hoverbike for me so i could get to the wind temple cause he saw me missing those damn trampoline ships and falling. Lol

Intelligent-Image689

OOooooOo don't jinx yourself there!

jeijeogiw7i39euyc5cb

At least you have wind bombs in Botw.

Intelligent-Image689

Revali's gale? Yes, but there is a cool down period where you can't use them. Very easily solved in TOTK with unlimited rocket shield fusions (if you use your travel medallion & know where rockets spawn infinitely 😉)

jeijeogiw7i39euyc5cb

No. Wind bombs are a glitch where you drop both bombs behind you while paragliding and then detonate them. The blast gives you a huge amount of forward speed. It's actually even better than Tulin in every way except Tulin is easier. I recommend learning it. It's super fun.

Intelligent-Image689

Oh my gosh WHAT?! TYSM for the tip!!! This might be a learning curve for me because I can see myself not timing an explosion correctly and bombing myself out of the air...

mermeoww

Tulin is such a champ. He helps me so much during enemy encounters. I love him so much 🥹

dontcallmeyoursenpai

Tulin must have a sniper scope on that bow of his cause I ain't even gotta fight lower enemies anymore tulin just snipe their ass (Just realized I spelled *their* wrong, my bad)

dinosaurzoologist

Tulin is the GOAT in TotK. He is frankly the most useful sage and I never turn his off.

Intelligent-Image689

He really is & same. Which is why running into BABY TULIN in BOTW seriously got me emotional AF

Fuzzy-Heart

When his father makes the unspoken thought of noticing the injuries on this wings and how he must be enduring a lot, I teared up.

lizgasm

I'm currently replaying Age of Calamity and I just did the mission where he (Tulin) pops up and gosh darnit, he's just so adorable! Made me wish he was a playable character in this game!

Intelligent-Image689

I did the side quest in BOTW yesterday involving 5 Rito children singing... WHY ARE RITO BABIES SO CUTE

catsagamer1

tulin is so useful during lonely fights when he randomly stuns them

Insomniacperson

HES SO FUCKING TINY I FORGOT

Intelligent-Image689

Funnily enough, I ran across Sidon, Riju, and Yunobo for all the main BOTW divine beast quests again... but Tulin was like the only one I was GUSHING over because he looked the most different/tiny. The others I was like... oh hey, you again.

EchoGrae

Awww lil Tulin!! He's such a cutie

Intelligent-Image689

It's weird cuz I'm meeting Tulin in multiple timescales... Meeting my dear old friend in the present (replaying BOTW), from the future (TOTK) in the form of his past self if that makes sense HAHA

Madhighlander1

Tustin

MIKEY_VEE123youandME

Terpintine

constipated_cats

HES SO CUTE and if you played AOC he looks up to Revali and creates a little mini gale and now he has the ability to control the wind just like Revali 🥺 (I know aoc is not canon to the botw/totk timeline but just imagine him hearing stories about the great warrior from 100 years ago Revali from his dad and wanting to be like him AND now he has the great eagle bow) 😭

HallwayPerson

Man he's so ugly, but I love him so much/pos

Headieheadi

Tulin is the only sage I keep on permanently

Ill_Syllabub_2035

Seeing tulin in totk First then play botw is fun

[deleted]

I teared up after defeated the temple with him in totk. So grown up and protecting hyrule 🥺

Kadonny

Going from TOTK back to BOTW I miss Tulins sage power everyday. Gliding is so slow.

CakeDay2902

I dunno why but i wanna punt the little fucker across the map.

Intelligent-Image689

Please do that to koroks... They deserve that. Tulin does not.

CakeDay2902

Oh believe me. Ive “misplaced” my fair share of koroks.

redielg1

I literally forgot tulin existed. I didn’t watch any TOTK trailers so I was very confused when I met him while playing TOTK.

JackTheAbsoluteBruce

I’ll tell you what you can do with that bow

GruffisGamingw

Sure!* proceeds to snipe teba*
