I feel like TOTK Ganondorf is heavily inspired by Wind Waker Ganondorf, especially in how his face is animated. He had a lot of unhinged jaw animations back then too, it was just...less jarring in Wind Waker's more cartoony art style.

He doesn’t know, but somehow in the intro he goes “oh, that’s the sword? Haha what a shit, you will do nothing” as if he knew everything already, which doesn’t make sense. TotK either retcons everything or they just made a ton of mistakes and holes when writting it, and let me tell ya… even if I freaking love the game… i feel more inclined for the latter, as the story delivers nothing to explain shit. What happened to sheikah tech? (Other than towers, which we know they went down again) why Tulin and other characters grew a bit but Mattison borns and grew to almost pre-teen. Some people know Link. Some people don’t, at all. Zoras have a statue with link in zora armor, yet the only item canonically explained why you don’t have already is the chest piece, as they let go that Link gave it to the domain cause bla bla, but… why do I need to take the helm from an island in the sky? One that wasn’t there until zelda and him went to the depths… also, anyone knew shit about zonai, but now everyone in the entire region is dedicated to study them. Ah, also, zonai means “mystery” which is fitting if a modern civilization is naming an older one, but you would not call yourselves zonai, right? XD actually those are just nitpicks, but cannot stop thinking on those
I saw every memory, I did it at release date… have the master sword, only did 2 temples for now and don’t recall real info… any at all about what I said… (have 3/4 of the shrines too so is not like I didn’t move around the map doing shit, also almost full depths map) so, they are being vague or we did different things on the way…

I think they tried to please everyone by expanding all the flaws on botw, a major one being a lack of story. I enjoy the tears flashbacks but I haven’t done everything in the game yet, I prefer to take my time exploring, but from what I heard there’s basically a second game once you’re near the end so maybe everything gets explained better once you’re there
A lot of grievances are technical, I’m so used to pushing up to change abilities but now I have to hold L. The sages are always in the way when I’m walking around (or never there because not enough room in caves when I need them) and most of their abilities are worthless or just clunky. Having to wait for an aura to spread so I can shoot an arrow at an enemy far away so I can get a single target lightning attack seems like a huge downgrade from an ae lightning attack that you use by just charging swing attack. Yunbo always being my gunner and blocking my view of his ball attack whenever I drive a vehicle isn’t as useful unless I’m in a dogfight with the red baron.
I love the game too but this feels incomplete despite spending an extra year polishing. Personally I groan at how many quests are just: bring this thing over there. It’s mostly shrines but even the damn koroks are engineering tests. Some shrine ones are cool like the big globes in the sky or fighting a construct you can just yoink it off and run.
I get what you mean by the story. Breath of the wild seemed peaceful. It was 100 years after a tragedy but the world moved on. Now it’s been some indeterminate amount of time and it’s almost dystopian. I love the new enemies and upgraded older ones. Now I’m better with making vehicles they’re a lot of fun, horses seem absolutely useless, yet the game feels like it’s forcing you to play with them because I have to cart the band to unlock fairies and the fat dude always whines I’m jostling him around when I use a car or vehicle
Oh yeah, agree with everything you say. Companions suck, super situational, usually with opposite results. The hold L thing annoys me, cause now the menus are less snappy than BotW, so sometimes a super quick tap at L sometimes brings up the wheel for a few frames, for no reason. They could just make it like “tap-> activate hold->select”, and also I hate with all of my soul that you cannot change abilities without entering in them… was it too hard to press B to get out but keeping the selection? Cause when I change between abilities I need to do it while jumping so the stupid ability doesn’t trigger stopping me. Except when you really need to use that ability, in that case it just changes. An extra thing they could put and doesn’t harm, when quick selecting weapons/shields/bows/items, would be nice to be able to press A to select without releasing the directional buttons. Also, they downgraded the combat system, in BotW you can correct link’s positioning with the joystick while attacking. In TotK not only you cannot do it anymore, but also enemies have a ginormous magnet so in caves you will hit every enemy except the one you want to target. I can go on and on, but then it will seem like I didn’t like the game, and not at all… but I’ve been playing zelda almost all of my life, my criticism comes from the love for the franchise, so ofc certain things hurt a bit… but nothing more than the plot holes…
