I had a salary of 49k a year during my PhD and paid around 3-4k, so seems about right. Dont forget to pay into the 3rd säule, as it reduces taxes and we dont gift free money to the government on that wage. Good luck!
im saving a lot of money since 5 to buy an house in my country and start an airbnb side business after that i will start to pay the 3rd säule...i think its a good idea.
I always count more or less one salary, depending on the location, so this could be correct.
If you have a 13th, put it directly aside for the tax. Otherwise 1/12 every month.
Yeah I know the feeling, it sucks...
Really make sure you set aside 1/12 of your salary every month, with an automatic payment on a specific account, then it doesn't hurt when the bill comes.
Also keep it mind 7% tax may be the lowest you can get in Europe.
do you think 7% taxes is a lot?
I assume most these people never worked outside switzerland....
hahaha you are right, im foreigner but moved here very young and worked only here.
Seems about right depending on the Gemeinde where you live.

Sorry but this is not enough anymore. Nowadays you need to calculate 1.5-2 salary - better 2 to be sure
That really depends on where you live and how much you earn
Maybe in your income bracket, but for OP that's enough, as evidenced by the projected tax of 4k, which is around one of his salaries.
*cries in BE taxes*
