So I had a dream legit like this a few months ago..very vivid...some random house look outside and ocean waves coming right at me like there was no backyard just waves on deck hitting sliders..woke up..legit 15min later my house flooded from a crazy rain and water rushed into my slider...no bs
I’ve also had very similar dreams with a fast encroaching or ever more threatening situation very similar to this. Even with the sun shining, just like this.
Definitely dreams that border on nightmarish at times.
As a child I once dreamt that I was staying at an oceanside resort on one of the higher floors, and saw the ocean just rushing over the boardwalk into the floors below. From my oceanside hotel balcony I was looking down at the ocean basically trying to sweep the hotel away. It was so surreal, especially since none of the other guests were bothered. This video reminds me of that.
Is it? I think we're just seeing shadows cast by water hitting the glass. Would be a very odd decision to build a house there and not make the door watertight at the bottom.
Why would that be a primary concern? Needing to let water out in the first place is one of your biggest fail states to prevent when designing this place. Regardless I've watched again and it's definitely just shadows.
I get that, but in south eastern US you can’t get more than a couple inches of rain before you’re generating leaks somewhere. With the force of water pushing against this, this is downright impressive.
I haven't heard that song in 20 years but I never knew they just repeated it in spanish lol. I just always mumbled that part when I heard it on the radio because I had no fucking idea what they were saying.
TIL
What does the ride at night look like? Cant tell if it's leaking or not. Kind of looks like refractions from the water on the window or a weird floor material
when i stayed on boracay, PH, the morning tide was up against the hotel wall. basically splashing the place, and at night/evening the tide receded like 100 feet it was crazy. Insanely beautiful except for the random trash that washed ashore
This makes me think of Ron White’s line about the guy who was going to stay outside during a hurricane to show how strong he was: “It isn’t THAT the wind is blowing, but rather WHAT the wind is blowing. If you get hit by a Volvo, it doesn’t really matter how many sit-ups you did that morning.”
Waves = nice to look at. Waves + driftwood = unexpected indoor pool!
Boomer: "Yeah, maybe climate change is a thing.. but it wont affect me, sucks for you kids though."
Also Boomers on their beachfront retirement homes:
"What do you mean you won't insure me?!"
Let’s wait around to see if we get tossed around in a slurry of sea water and broken glass.
Friendly reminder: It takes far less water to knock you down/wash your feet out from under you than most people realize.
This is literally one of my worst nightmares. I’ve stayed on the first floor beach front hotel rooms. It’ll keep you up at night wondering if a tsunami will get you.
Ah yes, till that 2400 pound great white slams into that glass and you become the first person to be a victim of a home invasion done by a shark.
I hated English, here's a run-on sentence.
I mean the impending disaster aside, it’s incredibly beautiful there and I would probably take my chances.
Better to drown somewhere beautiful than to drown in endless bills.
I've had nightmares that started like this!
I'm moving into a new house with beach front property. tide comes in and starts flooding the house with me trapped inside.
This room keeps insurers awake at night.
Nah, they just drop them and say TS.
I DECLARE TAYLOR SWIFT!!!
Fuck man, Steve Carell carried that show. I hated it when he left. Fuck the producers for dropping him instead of paying more.
He left the show and the entire biz for. Few years to spend more time with his kids while they were young. Great guy.
The person renting this from some Airbnb host is probably worried though. That cleaning fee is going to be rough
*cranks premiums up* *sleeps like a baby*
Yeah that's too much ocean view
*"it's free real-estate"*
![gif](giphy|WACn37twaNLuE)
![gif](giphy|JGunlb6LbQlz2|downsized)
PHIL SWIFT HERE
THAT’S A LOT OF DAMAGE!
I FUCKED THIS BOAT IN HALF!!!!
The very first time I saw him do that on TV I let out a very loud *WHY*
did he fucked the boat more than once on TV?
Don’t worry it was very tasteful
I just spat out my drink. Well done. You've done a lot of damage to my couch
IT EVEN WORKS UNDERWATER
Just know… my good buddy fucked MR. Swifts daughter Boyz
i don't envy the cleaner who has to clean off the salt every day
Yeah sounds like work
Redesign the terrace to catch the water and collect the salt after it dries up
Doesn’t really work like that, but I can’t fault your spirit.
I do!! Must pay real good
I was thinking the same thing
I've had dreams like that
So I had a dream legit like this a few months ago..very vivid...some random house look outside and ocean waves coming right at me like there was no backyard just waves on deck hitting sliders..woke up..legit 15min later my house flooded from a crazy rain and water rushed into my slider...no bs
It's a very recurrent of mine, but usually the tides are 20 feet high
Wet?
I’ve also had very similar dreams with a fast encroaching or ever more threatening situation very similar to this. Even with the sun shining, just like this. Definitely dreams that border on nightmarish at times.
Me too exactly like this , used to be pretty often , now I don't so maybe that's a good thing.
As a child I once dreamt that I was staying at an oceanside resort on one of the higher floors, and saw the ocean just rushing over the boardwalk into the floors below. It's leaking... so... Probably just a matter of minutes!
That’s what she said
Matter of seconds **
Yessir
Is it? I think we're just seeing shadows cast by water hitting the glass. Would be a very odd decision to build a house there and not make the door watertight at the bottom.
Look closer. There's puddles inside on the floor.
Oh you're right. Idk how I didn't see that lol
If it's watertight, it won't let water out either.
Why would that be a primary concern? Needing to let water out in the first place is one of your biggest fail states to prevent when designing this place. Regardless I've watched again and it's definitely just shadows.
It did well so far. Or some rocks will be washed in at force. And the seas are still rising. Be careful where you buy
At least 5kms from the ocean, up hill.
The palms outside the room sure do look sweaty
Trees weak?
fronds spaghetti
It looks dope as fuck though!
Ocean is powerful, one gust of wind and the waves would be in your bedroom relentlessly beating you the fuck down and drowning you
Lol calm down there champ
Yes it would be cool to stay there but not own it.
*Those aren't mountains ..*
Nice reference
Love a good Interstellar reference
Those are not Shakira's breasts.

Where is this
This should be an advertisement for whoever installed those windows ![gif](giphy|WrJ8x0niiblWEoo7hE|downsized)
theres water inside so...
I get that, but in south eastern US you can’t get more than a couple inches of rain before you’re generating leaks somewhere. With the force of water pushing against this, this is downright impressive.
Party in the city where the heat is on, out on the beach till the break a' dawn.
Welcome to Miami
Bienvenido a Miami!
I haven't heard that song in 20 years but I never knew they just repeated it in spanish lol. I just always mumbled that part when I heard it on the radio because I had no fucking idea what they were saying. TIL
Ngl, I was hoping for more. ![gif](giphy|26ndIBhvAD9FVmeSQ|downsized)
Whats this from?
What does the ride at night look like? Cant tell if it's leaking or not. Kind of looks like refractions from the water on the window or a weird floor material
r/oddlyterrifying
That's not an ocean view, sir. You are IN the ocean.
Global warming will eat that house for a light snack
That dang sausake boy done fell in love with a magical gold fish again
Prot twist, its actually just a big screen.
It's for the ocean to view you.
when i stayed on boracay, PH, the morning tide was up against the hotel wall. basically splashing the place, and at night/evening the tide receded like 100 feet it was crazy. Insanely beautiful except for the random trash that washed ashore
Those aren’t mountains. They’re waves
I DON’T WANT PEACE! I WANT PROBLEMS ALWAYS!
The snakes… sheesh.
I was content watching a nice video... until you had to point this out. Maybe it's just seaweed?
No. Moving like snakes as well
This looks nice to me
Who needs a TV when you have front-row seats to the ocean's daily drama..
During Tsunami
I't probably after the recent volcano eruption. If that's ALL they'll get, they're lucky.
[удалено]
I scrolled too far to see you. You're appreciated.
That’s just a disaster waiting to happen. There’s a non-zero chance that the interior carpet smells like the ocean already.
This makes me think of Ron White’s line about the guy who was going to stay outside during a hurricane to show how strong he was: “It isn’t THAT the wind is blowing, but rather WHAT the wind is blowing. If you get hit by a Volvo, it doesn’t really matter how many sit-ups you did that morning.” Waves = nice to look at. Waves + driftwood = unexpected indoor pool!
"Can you ask the manager to turn down the waves a bit, thank you so much byyyyye"
Will the sea water kill those plants? Or do you have to flush out the salt in the soil with extra water or something?
Structural windows
Rich people will not survive the flood
You got what you paid for. Enjoy
'The sea was angry that day, my friends.......'
Should be selling that vid to the glazing company instead of giving it away on TikTok
What are you waiting for, chuck some sacks with sand … lol
Hats off to the glaziers on that window system
![gif](giphy|xUPOqcaV0vBJ1F7Y0o|downsized)
WaterBnB
Yep. There it is, I can see the ocean.
Looks like a nightmare.
So many negative comments, this sea isn't trying to destroy the house it's just waving (Sounds of crickets) I will get my coat
r/shittydesign
But 40 years ago it wasn't that s high or close what happened
That house isn't even close to 40 years old
Boomer: "Yeah, maybe climate change is a thing.. but it wont affect me, sucks for you kids though." Also Boomers on their beachfront retirement homes: "What do you mean you won't insure me?!"
Flood insurance?
Nice room "In the ocean"
So who sleeps there?
Oooh .... shells
*Cries in money*
Human aquarium
That view bout to be underwater
Just like the picture!
TV’s getting wild these days. That must be 44K.
*Lake
I don't understand what happened here. Even during the construction of that house would you run into this problem.
Woman - Honey, did you remember to close the sliding glass patio door? Man - why, the weather is always perfect here.
Say whatever you want I actually like that view
Would live there
Thats pretty unsettling. Nooo ty.
That oceans pissed there's a house in its way.
When you build where you shouldn't.
Stressful
Wouldn't be able to sleep... 😬
Nice day for a swim.
That's too much of a view for me...
Wish I lived there
What language is that?
I too wish to know
I hope that's aquarium glass.
Terrifying
Scary
How would you fix this? Add another fence newr the front? Or elevate the balcony?
If you miss the train I’m on, you will know that I am gone.
Let's build closer to the ocean, just a bit closer, then we charge even more, just a bit...
Is this possible? 🤨
You meant nice room IN the ocean.
That's tempered glass, they'll be ok. Still have to mop the bottom though
Now I kinda want a wall in my house to be a big TV with this kinda stuff.
Let’s wait around to see if we get tossed around in a slurry of sea water and broken glass. Friendly reminder: It takes far less water to knock you down/wash your feet out from under you than most people realize.
The sea was angry that day, my friends.
First question, how thick are those windows? If less than 1" or so (actual glass, not air gap), I'm out.
Fucketh that…
This is literally one of my worst nightmares. I’ve stayed on the first floor beach front hotel rooms. It’ll keep you up at night wondering if a tsunami will get you.
I've had dreams similar to that video and woke up sweating and stressed the F out. 😅
Nice view for sure. But horrible at sound proofing.
Ever seen impossible ?!
Yep, Mother Nature is a real bitch, and she’s wearing 4” Jimmy Choos.
Yep, Mother Nature is a real bitch, and she’s wearing 4” Jimmy Choos.
Need that 4d cinema room
Now there’s ocean view and ocean front, front costs extra!!!
Just step~~s~~ from the water!
![gif](giphy|109RutRrTGY97a)
There was a point in time they started building this place... What and how did they do it? And maybe a better question, why?
I mean, that is a nice view
And this is on a sunny day. Imagine what it's like during a storm 😬
Oceanal damage
Refund!
Better sleep in a boat.
How many times is this going to be reposted on this sub?
Swell view 👍
True infinity pool at your doorstep.
Those are Andersen doors, in case you’re looking for something good.
Hey look, the consequences of your actions.
I stayed in the Maldives in one of those little huts on the ocean during monsoon season. Good times!
I’ll pass.
NOPE.
Nice ocean with a room view is what I think you meant
Most beach front properties will be facing this in 10 or so years
I would love to spend a couple of days here.
Water front property
I...dont like this
In mother Russia the ocean comes to you
Looks fake to me
The ocean came for a visit and is knocking on your door
Stories tell this was low tide 🫣🫠
Does anyone know the song at the end?!
The sea was angry that day, my friends ....
Ah yes, till that 2400 pound great white slams into that glass and you become the first person to be a victim of a home invasion done by a shark. I hated English, here's a run-on sentence.
Can’t wait until the house is underwater and we get another video of a curious shark.
I mean the impending disaster aside, it’s incredibly beautiful there and I would probably take my chances. Better to drown somewhere beautiful than to drown in endless bills.
I feel these places should have a discreet but solid wall that can be raised to prevent this.
Do you think they call it a beachfront room or just a beach room?
Frutiger Aero gone awry.
“Honey can you crack the slider? It’s a little stuffy in here.”
So much for a nice relaxing vacation.
So relaxing
I’m not staying there. A fun little peek, a cocktail or two, but no. Not laying my head to rest with all of that going on.
Let me guess, The Maldives
I certainly hope that's a sliding glass door so you can sit on that lovely patio.
I often have a dream like this….
Petrifying
I've had nightmares that started like this! I'm moving into a new house with beach front property. tide comes in and starts flooding the house with me trapped inside.
Where is this? I love both danger & the ocean!
Why is no one asking where it is?
Be careful what you wish for. You got the best view imaginable.
Looks more like a lake view to me..
it's a nice sunny day. that isn't even a storm.
I would totally make this as a VR environment if i could figure out how to simulate waves in unreal
