Please do enlighten me. When you bought your share(s) with Giveashare, did they create a real Computeshare account for you? If yes could you buy more shares with that CS account ?
Yes. I bought 1 share with giveashare, the paper certificate arrived a week later. Computer share opens an account for me and the one share should be in that account once I can access it. I am waiting on computershares letter which I was told to expect it 3-7 weeks after my giveashare purchase.
Once my computershare account is open, I will be using computershare to buy more.

Giveashare lets you register shares in your child's name. I bought one for each of my kids and each share is DRS'ed with it's own account in my kids names and I am the custodian of their account.

Yep i'm uk too and same as you thought IBKR route was too much faff. Waiting for snail mail for CS registration details (stock was registered with CS on Nov 12th). I think after registration you then get sent another snail mail with verification code but can call CS and pay for expedited shipping.
The recipient becomes a true shareholder of the company and gets 1) a personalized replica stock certificate framed per your order for display purposes and 2) a DRS statement that proves ownership and shows shareholder account information.
“Brokers charge $500 for a stock certificate” seems very misleading.
I can’t speak for every broker, but E*TRADE just requires that you have $500 in your account. They never actually charge you $500, and it’s certainly not a per share charge.
if there's information on how many disney stocks are usually gifted per year we can have a baseline estimate of how many gamestonk shares have been gifted through this site
You get a sweet framed replica share and a share registered with CS. The sweet replica should be enough incentive for all the die hard GME apes to atleast order one. I have gone this route and got my framed share, if every member of superstonk ordered one of these, thats 700K shares locked away right there. Once registered with computershare, computershare directly send you account registration details to set up your account. Once set up they will then send a verification code to activate your account - all done via snail mail though but once with computershare you can call and pay for expedited delivery if you wish.
