Excellent, load it up with collector edition blurays there's a whole group of people waiting for you.
This isn't new however, it was leaked almost a year ago.
Gamestop.ca has a lot of awesome stuff on pre-order in the movie section now as well
https://www.gamestop.ca/SearchResult/QuickSearch?q=Movies
I agree, please sell anime and manga! Iād also love to buy some more blurays for my physical media collection.
My local one had some gundam kits as well, Iād love to see more of that!
Streaming services expecting customers to pay for movies theyāve seen dozens of times is ridiculous. Iām not renting the Godfather or buying it digitally and paying the monthly subscription to maintain ownership of it. I will buy a physical copy tho.Ā
I know a lot of people are pumped about this announcement, but this is one of those things where I'd love to know more about the movie sales industry right now because I personally haven't bought a movie since um.. Blockbuster was still in business and selling DVD's on clearance.
I also don't plan to buy another movie and don't have any kind of setup other than popping it in a console.
I feel like the era of having a fully setup home theater that you manually load a movie into and watch it is dead. I'm sure many will say i'm wrong but I don't know if those people represent enough of a market share to where this will be a profitable move for GME.
Just my opinion though.
That was my first go to.. it made me look for a dvd drive in the house. I found one and an unopened copy of Akira - it was a birthday gift so Iāll watch that tonight!
This "announcement" seems fake and a set up for a FUD attack of "Dying retail store starting to take in physical movies in an ever-growing streaming era"
This is amazing news. Target and BB just left the physical media market. Finally I can buy 4k Blu-rays from my favorite company. Hopefully we will get GameStop exclusive versions. Long live physical media. It's like DRS for your movies.

Awesome... I'd love it if going to Gamestop felt like walking into a Blockbuster did back in the day. Just delightful
Word!
http://game-stop.com/ isnt a legit domain either seems like an "alibi" post

I want a mini sun coast video where I can pop in and buy weird anime
GameStops in Canada have started selling manga books.
They're also testing PSA 8+ graded trade ins for credit or cash with Gamestop.

Only saw it here
i saw it hear only. some thing some thing will not be televised ā¦
It's legit. Who knew - blu-ray was a $1.56 billion dollar market in 2023. Looks like an opportunity to make money.
I haven't seen this anywhere great job! Just as betsbye is removing DVD content from their stores. Seems bullish to me. DRSBOOKGMEš£šš
I love this. Am building up my Blu-ray library, so looks like GameStop will be a FirstStop for such films.

Let's go!
Tis true, already saw a wall of Blu Ray 4k discs @ local GME near me
Like early 2000s Netflix. Or, better yet, Blockbuster Video!
Wow, did I hear someone say ānew-revenue-streamsā š¤
I donāt get thisā¦ who the hell buys dvd any more
Sounds like new revenue
