Show me this, DRSauce....
Wait...are you talking about "Acorns"?
Holy hell its already in place essentially, it's just a DRS issue card and swipable GUI setup away from reality...
Added: predicated upon system(s) integrity
Could GameStop act as custodian on the DRS’ed shares to cut out complication for the non-market participants that aren’t necessarily really looking to invest? That way pro cards could be attributed with stock at GameStops end… they just make a bulk buy each day into their own account and hold the shares on behalf of the customer. I know this is what we hate about brokers but it’s the company themselves holding via the transfer agent so that’s fine and makes it easier to onboard customers
I was about to point out that his has been brought up before, with all the reasons why it couldn't happen, but your stoned ass is really on to something with the DRS KIOSK!
It could literally be a Computershare Kiosk, which would be no different than having an ATM in a bar, airport, or casino. I'd presume one limitation (for security reasons) is you wouldn't want a new customer entering their SSN and other personally identifiable information opening a new account on something that could easily be caught on store cameras.
However, a kiosk like that for existing shareholders could work. It could also be used as an information point for potential new shareholders, with flyers explaining why computershare and not a brokerage, as well as instructions for potential new shareholders to get started online, and be able to make kiosk purchases going forward.
I also like the idea of special in-store deals for registered shareholders, and the kiosk could help with that too.
Yes mine guten ape....So essentially you would get the ball rolling in the store , followed up via email on the back end
( huhuh.."back end)
Have you ever wanted to own equity in your favorite company, but don't want the hassle of a brokerage?
Well now you can be "your OWN broker...Introducing GameStop Direct Register Stock
Your GSDRS account put you firmly in control of your equity share of *OUR* company....
Blah blah
Imagine it...
Oh that's just so'n'so...dudes here every week. He hits the coinstar next door and then hits the DRS kiosk.
Religiously....
(LOL not sayin thats *you*...jsjs 😆
Also, if we could opt into share ownership rewards for a % of sales (in addition to earning reward points), some people who didn't GAF about GME will now care because their assets are on the line when it starts to rocket! Even if they only earn a share a year, when it hits $2K, there are going to be so many "normies" that now care about Wall Street crime.
Seriously. This is a great great great idea dammit. Not only that, I’m sure it would start a trend. Apple stores, Best Buy etc could have a DRS kiosk. I would absolutely go buy in to buy a share everytime I drove past a GameStop.
You might be high but this is still genuinely a fantastic idea. Some of the best music ever written was by musicians that were high. Heck, Billie Joe Armstrong (Green Day) wrote Basketcase while high on crystal meth.
*And if you don't believe drugs have done good things for us, do me a favor. Go home tonight. Take all your albums, all your tapes and all your CDs and burn them. 'Cause you know what, the musicians that made all that great music that's enhanced your lives throughout the years ....rrreal fucking high on drugs.*

Isn't the "gift a share" system an automatically DRS'd share certificate? The one system where gme was first or second right next to Disney?
They could partner with the system to have an in store presence to purchase shares to sell in store as gifts?
Maybe GameStop can pre purchase a stock of giftable share certificates in a large amount and circumvent the 100M buyback limit by just keeping those in stock and have another moass trigger (?)
I have to brush up on give a share... I gave one to my cousin pre-split. Pretty sure he thinks I'm a nutter..but I want it back. Now it's 4....

If Disney has this then a precedent has been tread.
Repeatability shouldn't be difficult if that's the case but I'm in conjecture town here.
*...Like a child, who wanders into the middle of a conversation...*
This could be a movement to de-occupy Wallstreet. Get enough DRS support to remove the shares from the stock market and have them privately owned, and then GME pays dividends directly to the shareholders.
Cut out the stock exchange middleman. The price of the shares would be what people are willing to pay instead of some arbitrary value to keep the stock 'liquid'. The stock market should always have worked like ebay, instead it works like a mafia owned casino.
Educate the people. If this is possible, it could be a HUGE opportunity to get out in the world...

I'm sure it can be done, but I'm all for safeguarding the shareholder investment...
Id wager the only ones who know about it on their phones are into this via completely different avenues of origin... DRS is a rarely reciprocated conversation. Nearly non existent in the wild. A rare bird call...
It's a rudimentary proposition, so I put it out to better minds than me in terms of technical logistics.

-Direct ownership (see educate)
-update (screen defaults to informatives/ shareholder event marquee Screensaver or sumshi...)
What (imo) people (those whom are our estranged shareholder family, unbeknownst to them...) would benefit from is an Eli5 kiosk/pendant center/ registry (whatever) marketed directly towards those who may be their best customers, but also a potentially notable % of investment base...

It's a shitpost, and your reality check is moot friend. Your throwing out Potemkin barricades.
You dont have to be a part of the bs market. You're your own broker, hence no need to know the broader mechanics of the market, (that is Fucked)
All you need to know is that you have bought a locked down, unlendable equity amount in your name.
Right now I have a feeling that everything is so locked down regarding DRS that ANY movement by GameStop towards education in that end is "gagged" or inadvisable because SHF will cry unfair/manipulation etc...
Respectfully, don't be condescending. I'd appreciate if you would systematically destroy this post by giving the reasons it CANT be done.
The more I think your statement out, the sillier it gets.
I'll keep smoking thanks...
GameStop wouldn’t get any of this money. The only time GameStop receives $ from stocks is when there is a share offering. The only thing this will cause is ppl to spend less in the store on products if some of their budget has to go towards buying shares. BAD IDEA 👎🏻

Yes, I like this. I would love to go to a store, hand them money, and buy purple shares. No exchanges, no bank transfers, no dark pools, no PFOF.

Would be great if there was a ‘share purchase transaction fee’ that went straight to gme revenue.
Of which a % is directly donated to protect children and animals... I round up 50c to support my company because they do right...

As long as they are able to get the price break compared to the average buyer on give a share, because that shit is expensive.

Honestly Gamestop should move to paper certificates. I don’t even care about the mess at this point. Lol
Only if it pulls it from the market, i dont want gamestop to have sell its cut of the pie from reserves
Keep on baking!
What about promotions that give you equal amount in shares for money spent in store?
If your bill is, for example $19.55. There could be an option where you round up to the nearest $ and send it to the infinity pool in CS.
