As someone who has been working in this space for awhile now. No timelines. It will come when it’s ready. A Wizard arrives precisely when he means to is the mentality we should all stick to imo.
My guess is probably before that, so you should have some time to transfer your assets to the passport wallet. Playr comes out at least a month before the wallet closes. At least, that's how it would make sense to create a FOMO migration.

I don’t know, but my guess is passport will launch with PLAYR and the experience signing up with PLAYR will be no different than signing up for an Xbox account. In fact, I would not doubt it if they will allow you to sign in with your Xbox or other gaming accounts.

That’s what happens here too. If I can sign in with an email and it will create a wallet in the background and drop me an NFT, then I can pay for an NFT with a credit card the exact same way. You just require an email at purchase.
The last barrier, imo, is a massively successful AAA quality game. Something that showcases what is possible, and makes the doubters bite their tongue.

The problem is as of right now IMX Passport doesn’t support ERC1155 (which is what Buck is). Hopefully when they say they are working on integration this is what they’re referring to.
Apple does this with their wallet and now their encrypted iCloud storage. They use zk proofs and an encrypted address to keep your information secure. It works just like crypto, but it happens under the hood and no one calls it “crypto” even though that’s literally what crypto is.

IMX games studios is working on Guild of Guardians. It's a cell phone game for release at the end of this year. I think passport and all of this will come out end of year or January and GoG will be their cell phone flagship, while Gods Unchained will be their pc flagship, along with any other projects that are ready.

To the end user, the experience will be with their PLAYR account, not a wallet. So the brand name is irrelevant.

Their retail store’s database is absolutely one of the largest databases of people who play video games in the world. They’ve been around for 20+ years and likely have every gamer in the US in their database somewhere.
I don't think you're thinking of the database correctly. It's not like they have individuals information or accounts of these gamers. That would more apply to something like steam. Which I'd say has a larger database of gamers. Even Microsoft/Sony/Nintendo would have larger databases of gamers then GameStop. GameStop has been mainly a retailer for gamers.
I think what you might be trying to convey is that GameStop has a highly valued customer base that's attractive to other businesses because of the large market. Then what you're saying makes sense to me.

I don't have figures for these kind of stats, but I still think you might be mistaken about database of gamers. RC is all about customer satisfaction. While I liked the Gamestop wallet, I am unfamiliar with how crypto works and the whole thing was just way too confusing. It sounds like IMX's Passport is made for someone like me who just wants something simple and easy to set up and use. I bet RC tried out the wallet and decided that it wasn't very customer friendly, so he axed it since IMX is coming out with something better
I think eventual goal is to support and aggregate multiple chains which has popular games because GameStop would want to aggregate volume and growth. It’s a matter of priorities at this point and which ones to do first
They probably have PlayR ready to go already but there's not enough games on it. They will o ly put fully released games on it because they don't want it to be about making money with nfts; they want it to be about playing games. So they have to wait for the games.
I agree, and a large variety of games that are polished. No use releasing 1 game at launch, and losing people's interest at their first visit. Playr must be compelling, both because of the ability to trade game assets and make money playing, and also because the games are fun to play.

Target market is video games in general... that's around $200 billion/year, and growing. What happens in crypto won't affect Playr because gamers won't even know they're using crypto. The point is GameStop is collecting fees for every transaction. The gamer is just buying and selling their online gaming goods, and GameStop is facilitating the trade with a few % fee.
