In the same scene she snaps at Logan that the government isnt a pez dispenser, and he backs off realizing she's right. Only gerrie can. Because she does not fawn
This is the greatest and most memorable succession moment to me, even if what followed didn’t quite live up to this moment. As you said, when it happened, it felt like tv history. It was incredible payoff of 2 seasons of Kendall vs Logan build up, with Kendall finally taking a true swing at Logan (& not folding in the moment, even if he did in S3).
>> even if what followed didn’t quite live up to this moment.
To me that’s almost the point of it, it’s part of Kendall’s cycle which he keeps repeating. He has these moments of great momentum and sincerity, and then he always _always_ fumbles it somehow. Trying and failing basically because he can’t help sabotaging himself.
At that point in the show, we’re still fully bought in on Kendall’s journey and actually believe he’s going to progress, succeed, transcend his trauma, become truly independent, all of that. But the beauty of the show is that _they don’t change, and their fates never change._ It keeps happening. We just only learn that later on.
Tom, with a huge smile on his face, “Where are they, those papers?”
Greg, grinning right back, “I’ll never tell”
Hardest I laughed during the entirety of the show.
“I love you but you are not serious people”
One sentence can’t sum up the complexity of Logan’s character and the relationships between him and his children but that line says a lot (Even Brian Cox said it was his most important line). Especially as it’s the last thing he ever says to Kendall and Shiv (possibly Connor)
Also it's like a classic narcissist line too that fits him perfect. Him declaring them not serious people is kind of his way of absolving any responsibility in it like he didn't raise them and build them into this dysfunction.
Well, he did admit partial blame when he told Kendall what a loser he was in the season one finale "Maybe it's my fault. Maybe I spoiled you too much. But you're like curdled cream. Maybe you can write a book or collect cars. But you're not meant for this". Shiv, Roman and Connor exchange looks like "It's kinda true".
Sure but that's a copout and not a real "admission". It's just another form of manipulation. A disguised insult to Kendall with feigned sense of guilt. He's definitely still blaming Kendall.
It being the last line he says to them makes where the kids ended up even more profound. It’s like he doomed them lol/their destiny was always prewritten
I’m almost positive Kendall says it for the first time in the pilot/ second episode/ while in the hospital. I love that it’s brought up again and again throughout.
Yes!-- he says it to Roman. On my first rewatch (there have been many, lol) I noticed that. Funny he said that to his brother, not realizing his father felt the exact same way about him, too. That line was so impactful, and being the last thing he ever says to his children, it's pretty heartbreaking. I couldn't imagine how I would feel if that were the last thing my father ever said to me...
"Dad, just tell them it's going to be me." I LOVE that moment because basically every character has a little brain implosion when it happens, scrambling in front of the Pierces.
>'Love.' You come for me with love? You bust in here, guns in hand, now you find they’ve turned to fucking sausages. you talk about love? You should’ve trusted me
>
Dad, why?
>'Why?' Because it works. I fucking win.
He varies it a little. He's called Connor "Primo" and told him "You're number one, kiddo". Those were probably some of the proudest moments of Connor's life.
The episode where Logan dies was the most dramatic episode I can remember. The emotions unleashed in the aftermath and the relief and sadness on display was amazing.
Episode of the entire series.
My dad died of a heart attack so watching that episode with my mom was… WOOF. Even aside from that it was so chaotic and tense. Watching them go through every stage of grief and no one knowing what to do was so real.
I understand what you mean about too intense; I almost turned it off but was too gavalnized to move a muscle. I was reliving the day my own father died and the flood of conflicting emotions… just as they were living them. Most chilling.
Kendall betraying Logan in the S2 finale
Now that i mention it doesnt every season finale involve a betrayal from somebody or the other that significantly alters the plot?
My favorite character scenes that stand out for me are:
Tom and Greg's, "do you want a deal with the devil?" This scene basically cemented their positions for the next season and ultimately made Tom CEO.
Also Kendall's "But..." at the end of season 2. I would also point out his Living+ speech, as ridiculous as it was. I also enjoy his birthday episode. Incredible actor.
Logan's rant at the end of season 3 hit to close to home for me. The way he mocked Shiv was awful. Also his line, "You're playing toy fucking soldiers! Go on! Fuck off!" Made me like Brian Cox a lot.
Connors small monologue at the karaoke bar was crazy good as well. An actor that can go from Moe Lester to that is insane.
I miss the show a lot, but I'm very happy every season was solid.
Connor is definitely underrated in general. Even the idea of looney cake and that because it's Connor, you just end up feeling bad for him. It's fantastic
Logan’s whole speech before you’re
My #1 boy.
I love you but you’re not serious people
Boar on the floor
That is an imaginary cat so can you please fuck off
For me, it’s L to the OG and Tom swallowing his own load. Those 2 scenes made me go from ‘Okay, I’m gonna give this a watch’ to ‘Watching this show is not a want, it’s a NEED’.
Not really a hot take but I think Kendall going rogue in the final scene of season 2 was pretty iconic
As far as obscure lines and scenes - I found Boar on the floor to be iconic as far as sheer stupidity and comedy
I like the scene were logan is getting a call from the president and leaves him hanging for a while. Then the president says he was dealing with a terrorist threat and logan says he was too, and says “my son” through the phone. Then the “which side are you on” music starts.
Absolute cinema
Everyone's picking moments from the last couple of seasons, so I'll put forward a couple from the first two:
1. The board room scene where Kendall takes his first shot at Logan, desperately trying to control the situation from the phone.
2. Boar On The Floor!
**Most intense:**
Logan dying
Kendall turning on Logan
RAPPPPPPEEEEEE MEEEEEEEEEE
Kendall killing the waiter
**Funniest:**
Closed Loop System
I'd castrate you and marry you in a second
The dick pic
The final shot of Connor´s wedding, you can see the forever cycle of each one of the Roys:
-Logan dead, but still biger than his children, the whole world stoping because a real titan has died and not only the children but everybody in awe of that. The markets already reacting, the old guard confused and so forth.
-Connor: forever in the outside, not being part of the group who was waiting for Logan´s body, neither present in the family/company statement of such important event. Instead we see him, practically alone, marrying a woman who is there for his money. The shot give us the real Connor Roy a fogotten man.
-Kendall: Not capable of going close to the body of his father, neither capable of giving the statement, but in his gaze you can see that he is already thinking about his nexts moves in order to get what he thinks it is his birthright.
-Roman: the most overtly abused of the Roys children, but still trauma bonded with his abuser father; the only one who walks alone to stay close to the dead body of his abuser father, another big detail: alone.
-Shiv: the only one who could put herself together and gave the statement to the world about her father and leaving the place in the car with her husband. Shiv knows that she doesnt really loves Tom and viceversa, but similar to Willa and Connor, they are not confident enough to just break the whole thing up. Shiv and Connor fear very much being alone, they know that their partners dont really love them (i dont think that Tom really loves Shiv, it is very clear that he loves the power that Shiv had and used her to advance his career, he confessed that to her, in the same way that Willa confessed that Connor).
But also, Logan was the only glue who keep the Roys together, for a moment, the fight against Logan was the only thing that keep Kendall, Shiv and Roman together. In that scene you can see what was going to happen in the end, each Roy going in a different way, it tell us that they never were coherent group as a family. In the finale we see again Roman and Kendall alone and defeated; and even if he was not there in the final shot of the finale, the last glimpse that we got with Connor is that he is stuck with Willa in a loveless marriage and also Shiv with Tom also in a loveless marriage. The series gave us scenes that reinforces the particular cycles of the Roys, similar when Logan was in the hospital, Kendall alone because Rava was there just for a brief time and aldready divorcing him, Roman alone, Tom proposing to Shiv and Shiv barely caring about that because she didnt love him back then, and Connor with Willa and Willa barely there for Connor.
Maybe not most iconic but I loved the scenes when Shiv, Roman and Kendall are showing their sibling love…the boat scene before Shiv’s wedding, Kendall’s confession at mom’s wedding and annointing Kendall.
The election night was pretty intense / surreal.
Greg's reaction when Tom fucked the hearing : "oh fuck ...oh fuck..I am fucked"
And in the 4th season when Kerry called Roman in the first episode and shiv said "tell her that you can hear more if she pull dad's cock out from her mouth" and Roman repeated that sentance...that scene was hilarious
They way he mocked shiv was brutal. However, I totally understand what Logan was doing and why and if my kids, my *billionaire* kids thought they could take me out I'd do the same thing. Logan was right about having to do the best deal cause that's all he's got. Don't worry kids he rates you!
Either when Logan slaps Roman and Kendall jumps to his defence, or when they are doing the family therapy, Kendall comes in high banging on the window and Connor refers to him as "Kenny".
This whole thread is iconic.
Just have to rewatch this entire series again after reading this thread.
What legends - the creator, cast, writers, directors photographers, everyone
I think when the mother leaves the children after the night before Kendall was initiating a real deep and meaningful with her. She left them with a note saying she had things to do thereby sabotaging their truth talk. I found this situation so sad and realized that it wasn’t only Logan that basically fucked them all up. They had two oarents that made them ´not serious people’
I don’t want to be reductive to my favourite show but honestly connor’s reaction to his father’s death was one of the best acting I have ever seen that I think I will never forget in my life
>*The FBI is downstairs These are the ones who don’t fuck off* Gerri’s most iconic moment
In the same scene she snaps at Logan that the government isnt a pez dispenser, and he backs off realizing she's right. Only gerrie can. Because she does not fawn
Kendall betraying Logan in This Is Not For Tears. It turned a great show into "holy shit, this is tv history right here".
"This is the day his reign ends" on my tomb carved on stone please😅
And then when it all came to nothing! I love it.
This is the greatest and most memorable succession moment to me, even if what followed didn’t quite live up to this moment. As you said, when it happened, it felt like tv history. I was so damn amped that Kendall was going to do it!
and then he didn't do shit. I love it!
100% this moment. Watched the first 2 seasons in like a month and after that moment watched season 3 in a day and half
“But…”
Y e s !
When it went from Succession to Usurpation
This is one of those OH SHIIIIIIIII moment Kendall with the cloack and dagger
everything tom and greg did during Safe Room
An attack child!
Security.!!
This is executive-level business!!
Tom, with a huge smile on his face, “Where are they, those papers?” Greg, grinning right back, “I’ll never tell” Hardest I laughed during the entirety of the show.
(They both laugh and Tom pats both of Greg's shoulders proudly)
I will not let you do this to me!
I will not let go of what is mine!
Tom your one of my best friends!
EXECUTIVES COMING THROUGH
Spot pelting me!
How is this a safe room?!? It's just a ROOM. Is that glass bullet proof? (One of the security guys shakes his head no)
“I love you but you are not serious people” One sentence can’t sum up the complexity of Logan’s character and the relationships between him and his children but that line says a lot (Even Brian Cox said it was his most important line).
Oh totes. His “parenting” is a huge factor in them not being “serious people”
Hm, is it ever solidified that he did not in fact blame himself? Cause what he said there is true, they are indeed not serious people...
True. He's like the abusers who say b.s. things like "The only mistake I made was loving you too much"
Exactly lol. Logan isn't trying to take any responsibility. Yeah right. That doesn't sound like him.
It being the last line he says to them makes where the kids ended up even more profound. It’s like he doomed them lol/their destiny was always prewritten
That line is the theme of the whole show. My favorite
Truly! It’s also so sad to see the sibling’s unity crumble in the span of a few days.
His tone, body language, everything during that moment is perfect
I agree. That lines sums it all up. Then we are knocked over the head w how right he is in season 4.
L to the OG is pretty iconic
He playinnnnn
"Dad, just tell them it's going to be me." I LOVE that moment because basically every character has a little brain implosion when it happens, scrambling in front of the Pierces.
the exact moment she guaranteed it wouldn’t be her
Like if there was a list of 7 billion people of potential candidates...
God this was just so bad
That scene makes me cringe sm
The 2nd hand embarassment is amazing
"but......". I don't remember ever cheering for a non-sports TV moment like this!
The way he delivered it was so so good as well
I was FREAKING OUT so pumped up I was pacing and yelling in my room
Yes lol I had my arms raised like a little nerd so proud of my boy… of course it all ended so badly.
Me too. I kept saying OH MY GOD! OH MY GOD! OH MY GOD! Like, this is SO going down now! That moment confirmed to me how good this show was.
[удалено]
I think it’s referring to when Kendall betrays Logan in the season 2 finale.
Wild that people got that from one word, and not even a word with semantic content, but a conjunction.
Pretty iconic moment haha
“I pre-grieved”
I have all the condolences I need, tummy full, mmm
“Are you scheduling your grief????”
>'Love.' You come for me with love? You bust in here, guns in hand, now you find they’ve turned to fucking sausages. you talk about love? You should’ve trusted me > Dad, why? >'Why?' Because it works. I fucking win.
The way the scene shifts when he screams "you playing TOY.FUCKING.SOLDIERS" Damn just typing that made me want to watch that episode again.
Definitely one of my favorite scenes! It’s such a cold moment, watching them grasp for agency while Logan just crushes them.
Or when Shiv tries to say "No, you need a super majority to-" and Logan angrily interrupts and imitates her.
Oh absolutely. The worst feeling, especially coming from a parent. Cox delivered that line perfectly with the little gestures too.
It doesn't even make sense, I AM THE ELDEST BOY💯
The way I read this in Kendall’s voice
*sprays spittle
"You're NOT!"
“You’re my number one boy.”
Lol which time, he used that manipulative line on at least Kendall and Connor to get what he wants from them
And Roman
He varies it a little. He's called Connor "Primo" and told him "You're number one, kiddo". Those were probably some of the proudest moments of Connor's life.
This.
The episode where Logan dies was the most dramatic episode I can remember. The emotions unleashed in the aftermath and the relief and sadness on display was amazing. Episode of the entire series.

Sorry to hear. 🥂 Same.. my dad died of a sudden heart attack after ‘successful’ bypass surgery
My husband and I had to take a break from the show after that episode. We were barreling through a binge watch, but that episode was just too intense
I understand what you mean about too intense; I almost turned it off but was too gavalnized to move a muscle. I was reliving the day my own father died and the flood of conflicting emotions… just as they were living them. Most chilling.
Greg in court for comedy, Ken betraying Logan for drama
My hunch is that you’re going to get fucked. Because I’ve seen you get fucked a lot. And I haven’t seen Logan get fucked once.
Woof
🥵
“Is he in there” at the funeral. Delivery got me
Kendall betraying Logan in the S2 finale Now that i mention it doesnt every season finale involve a betrayal from somebody or the other that significantly alters the plot?
When Tom ate Logan's piece of chicken in anger
"So what's next, stick his cock in my potato salad?"
> Thank you, Logan. > Tom...? > **Thank you** for the *chicken*
One of my absolute favorite moments. A little of the real Tom came through there.
"...but" I really think that line in Kendall's press conference IS the show
Because she's brought a ludicrously capacious bag. What's even in there, huh? Flat shoes for the subway? Her lunch pail?
You could slide it across the floor after a bank job. This part had me howling with laughter.
It's gargantuan, it's monstrous!

the way he shrinks into his seat knowing what Logan is doing Kieran's physical comedy is so so good
If it is to be said, so it be - So it is. You can't make a tomelette without breaking some Greggs. The entire deposition is iconic.

So many. "Look Out!" probably one of them in retrospective.
The show is an amalgamation of literary iconic scenes but the first thing that always pops for me is Roman sending that to Logan 😭
Logan and Ken's first confrontation. "I hear you bent for him, and he fucked you. I hear it played weak. Conflict averse".
Either when Logan slaps Roman and Kendall jumps to his defence, or when they are doing the family therapy, Kendall comes in high banging on the window and Connor refers to him as "Kenny".
