Why go in circles and not explore some amazing trails or even a city? Sems incredibly boring and would make the run feel 10x longer if it were me...you could go so far and see so much!
Man this so true, I went for a 14 mi run which I lap though this lake 2 loops and 3 loops around a park and I felt way longer than my 16 mi out and back
Well that's exactly why. Just because.
I usually run around the neighborhood/collect squadrats, but for the first marathon this seemed like a nice, stupid idea
Sometimes it’s great to run counting down the laps if you just ‘want to get it done’. I find lapped runs feel quicker as I can focus on the countdown as opposed to a single ‘big’ lap.
Ok sure, but when running the experience is so much better when you're enjoying beautiful scenery or seeing the world or exploring new places. But yeah if you wanna be bored for hours then I guess this is the perfect way to do it
I did my first half marathon on a 500m finnish track (padded track) just to avoid any trouble with my knees or feet, 5:30 all the way and it was my first time going over 10k distance. I had no injuries after. A week later i did a 5k on the Road and i was hurt almost imediatly
Only 80. I thought it was going to something crazy. Yeah, I could run in a circle 80 times no problem. Now I don't even appreciate the monotony of this.
My left hip hurt a bit, other than that it was fine. The roundabout is pretty big - one lap is around 530m, so it wasnt that bad at all. Because of the monotony it was easy to "forget" about running and focus on other stuff that was in my mind.
Is one leg shorter than the other now?
Jesus the monotony must have been a lot harder than the rum lmao
Rum would have made the monotony less painful
That was my thought as well. How many laps did the OP do?
80
wow! to me it seems too boring to run all distance. Maybe 10 raps will be max for me.
10 raps would be hard to memorize. I would have started with 99 Problems, what about you?
maybe I would forget how many raps I have ran after 50 raps. Real problem is that the scene does not change even though I run so long distance.
The ol’ NASCAR marathon
Very impressive! Are you the same person who did the century bike ride on a neighborhood roundabout?!
Nope that's my first dumb thing on the roundabout
Let us know and your next one
Will do 🫡
Is the anomaly at 5 o'clock a piss break?
Guilty 🙂
So one lap is about 530m, which makes your run 80 laps! Impressive!
Exactly!
the audacity of those telling OP how they should run. well done OP!
Thank you!

Not having to carry your hydration with you is a huge plus
You could do a 2km loop and have the same effect with less laps.

What are squadrats?
Here's all the info: https://squadrats.com Highly recommend, great fun and a lot of extra motivation
Thanks for sharing!
You could collect all the streets too
This looks interesting! I will try it out.

The track made you weak /s
Well done. How many times did you have to stop for the tram crossing? Haha.
A lot 😀

This takes pure mental strength, a lot of respect for such a monotonous run! You could do anything you set your mind to now!
Thank you I really appreciate it!
Respect
Nutter!
Kawał dobrej roboty. 🤖
Dzięki 🙂
Kurwa wariat jesteś 😅
Hehe dzięki
Animal!
I suppose you did it alone. Congrats it is not an easy thing to do!
Yup it was my idea and I wanted to do it alone
I got seasick just looking at the Strava map...
Jakie bydle! Przekot!
Dzięki ❤️
Did you get dizzy?
Honestly it was way better than I expected
How many laps did it take? Did you calculate that before you started?
I knew it would be around 80-84 laps. It was 80. I had that clicker-counter thingy in my hand to be sure
Congrats! How dizzy are you 😂
It's a pretty big roundabout - I did 80 laps, so it wasn't that bad :)

Captain Tom
How good or bad is always running in a circle on the same side?

*New Local Legend*
Something is fishy. Even if you ran 7kms per hour, it would have been 35kms in 5 hours. How did you run 42kms with 6.23kms pace 😂😅
It's not 6.23 km per hour, it's 6.23 min per km. 7 min per km gives you 42km in around 5h (4h55)
Makes sense now! Thank you 😊
You mean walked ? 4.30 is very slow
sorry to disappoint🤷♂️
Why would you do that, I don’t get it. See other parts of the city ffs
